Have you, dear Christian, ever felt overwhelmed with the Christian life? Have you ever felt that you needed something from this world to help you escape the Christian warfare?

Maybe I thought that I needed a glass of wine, so that I can unwind from all the stress of the day?

Or maybe a secular novel, or TV show to forget my troubles?

.

Maybe I thought of taking up some hobby to help me to clear out my clogged brain?

.

Or maybe a night on the town to provide some change of scenery?

.

Of course, most all of us have had these thoughts and desires. Well perhaps God’s Salvation plan isn’t complete and needs to be complimented with some extracurricular activities to rejuvenate the spirit!

BORN IN BABYLON!

.

One of the big problems is, that we have been born into, and have grown up within this Babylonian world, which is the kingdom of Satan.

.

And we have learned to do things the way the citizens of his world do things!

.

And so, it is as easy and natural as falling off the proverbial log, to do things the way the world does things!

.

CALLED OUT

But God has called us out of the world. And God has given us His Book, to teach us the ways of Heaven.

.

Yes, God wants the world to return to Heaven’s way of doing things!

And Heaven’s ways all seem so vastly different from the ways of the world, and yet they are an infinitely better way of doing things! 

.

THE IMITATION OF CHRIST? 

.

So how did Jesus unwind? After all, Jesus is our Divine “role-model”.

.

So how can we imitate Christ, yet still relax, renew, and unwind?

.

“THEY SHALL MOUNT UP WITH WINGS AS EAGLES…”

.

Listen…“the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary…He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:28-31

.

Here is a great revelation as to how the Christian is to become renewed in spirit. It is the Lord that renews the strength of His weary people.

And it is a heart renewal from the indwelling Holy Spirit, so great and so wonderful, that God actually compares it to an eagle taking flight…”they shall mount up with wings as eagles…” Isaiah 40:31

.

REST UNTO YOUR SOULS

.

Jesus calls to all Mankind who are weary and heavy-laden, to enter into His, “rest unto your souls”!

.

Listen to Jesus…“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

.

Okay, so here is a “rest unto your souls”! You will never find such a rest as this at the bottom of a wine glass! Nor will you find it at the end of an action thriller or a romantic novel! These diversions are only temporary, followed by a return to the grim realities of this fallen world.

“TAKE MY YOKE…AND LEARN OF ME…”

No, this rest unto your soul that Jesus offers, is found when the weary one begins to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His life-giving words and to His heavenly wisdom: the wisdom that is found only in the pages of the Bible!

.

And the more we know about Jesus, the more wonderful will be our rest, like an ever-flowing fount of peaceful waters! Of course, this kind of peace can only be supernaturally provided by the indwelling of the Spirit of Christ.

DAY-BY-DAY GROWTH

.

Listen…“For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people. To whom He said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing:” Isaiah 28:10-12

.

Yes, as this above passage seems to poetically say, it is from a day-by-day, month-by-month study of God’s Word, that our spiritual rest grows deeper and wider!

.

Oh yes, we only seem to grow very little each day.

AS THE GROWTH OF A TREE

.

And even though we only seem to grow very little each day, the days turn into weeks, and the weeks turn into months, and our spiritual growth will eventually be noticed.

.

And oh so imperceptibly, like the growth of a tree, we grow strong and upright like the great tree, climbing ever-upward to Heaven!

.

And combined with unceasing prayer, the day-by-day study of God’s Word will become like a deep, peaceful river, flowing within our soul, ever-cleansing, ever-refreshing our body, and our mind, and our heart, and our soul!

BROKEN CISTERNS of THE WORLD

.

But those who turn to wine for refreshment, will wake up in the morning with a bit of a bad temperament (like this hung-over likeness of a city magistrate, whose browbeaten construction employees mockingly fashioned his grouchy “morning-after” likeness onto the side of a new building.)

.

And those who while-away the night-hours over some TV show or intriguing book, will eventually find those earthy images and that worldly wisdom has all but choked out the pure words of God, that once graced the walls of their heart!

BABYLON IN OUR MIND

.

And so, O Child of Heaven, we must come out of Babylon in our thinking.

.

We must finally cease from the selfish ways of the world, and seek for the renewal of our mind, in the knowledge of Heaven’s ways!

.

We must go with our Savior into the Garden of Prayer, pleading with Him each morning and night!

.

We must seek for renewal and refreshment as Jesus did, and not as the world does!

.

And we must cling to the following promise from Isaiah 40:31…

.

“But they that wait upon the LORD

.

shall renew their strength;

.

they shall mount up with wings as eagles;

.

they shall run, and not be weary;

.

and they shall walk, and not faint.”

REVELATION 12 WOMAN

.

WOMAN ROTATES THROUGH THE SEASONS…

.

This page is about the Big Dipper, also called the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major ). However, the ancient pagan cultures did not see this constellation as God intended it to be seen. It is actually a headless woman in childbirth.  This is seen in springtime. It is seen in the northern skies. 

.

But as the seasons progress, this travailing woman flips upside down, now appearing as a woman with upraised arms like eagle wings who is running (eventually flying, as shown in sketch on right) into the wilderness (westward). The single star representing her birth-child (Christ) now becomes her head (“Christ is the head of the church.” Ephesians 5:23

.

The 7 Stars (Big Dipper) is easy to see with its very bright 7 stars. But the Revelation 12 Woman (Ursa Major) must be seen on a dark starry night, away from city lights.

Eternal Torment?

SMOKE RISING UP FOR EVER AND EVER…

.

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night.”

.

Now it is time to fully address this passage from Revelation 14, which speaks of smoke rising for ever and ever. The above verse from Revelation 14 sounds as if it is the last word on the subject of “eternal torment”. Every unbeliever will be tormented forever and ever. And the smoke of their eternal torment will rise for ever.

But is this the last word on this subject?

ANOTHER ‘SMOKE-RISING-FOREVER’ PASSAGE

.

So let’s explore this idea of smoke ascending up for ever and ever.

.

Just listen to this passage, and how it ends up… “Come near, ye nations, to hear…For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance…and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion. And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch. It shall not be quenched night nor day; THE SMOKE THEREOF SHALL GO UP FOR EVER:” Isaiah 34:1-5, 8-10.

Ah-ha! So here we have another “smoke rising forever” passage! And so this above passage gives us further insight into the meaning of Revelation 14, which says… “And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night.”

READ ON A LITTLE FARTHER…

.

Okay, so if we stopped right here, we would have a picture of a fiery planet, after God’s final judgment, in which fire would endlessly burn, and the smoke would rise up forever and ever.

.

But, let’s keep reading this passage from Isaiah as it continues to describe this Post-Judgment Earth…

.

”It (the earth) shall not be quenched night nor day; THE SMOKE THEREOF SHALL GO UP FOR EVER…from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever…and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls…There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate. Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for My mouth it hath commanded, and His spirit it hath gathered them…they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.” Isaiah 34:9, 10, 15, 16 (shortened for brevity)

What happened? Where are all the screaming multitudes? Where’s the fire?

.

Now the above verse speaks of the day of God’s vengeance. It speaks of desolation and destruction of the Earth. It speaks of the smoke ascending up for ever and ever. It speaks of the land laying desolate…for ever and ever!

WHERE ARE THE SCREAMING MULTITUDES?

.

So, the obvious question is: how does this passage fit into the entire scenario of God’s ultimate judgment upon earth? Where are all the screaming people?

.

Well, it says here, that they were all utterly destroyed! Just listen again to this same passage from Isaiah 34… “For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and His fury upon all their armies: He hath utterly destroyed them, He hath delivered them to the slaughter”. Does this passage say the people of the world will be endlessly tormented? No, it says they are “utterly destroyed”. Death. And it says here that the fire goes out as well, and becomes re-populated by the beasts of the field and the birds of the air.

.

But it also says, “THE SMOKE THEREOF SHALL GO UP FOR EVER:” God has purposely hidden the answer to Revelation 14 here in Isaiah 34. The smoke of their torment may ascend for ever and ever, but the inhabitants have already been “utterly destroyed”. So the smoke here on Judgment Day rises for ever, in spite of the fact that the wicked have previously been utterly destroyed, and the fire has previously been extinguished.

.

Granted, this passage has some difficult language. But the point is, you just cannot assume that Revelation 14 is speaking of endless torment. Endless smoke rising? Yes! But not endless torment. God has expanded on Revelation 14, here in Isaiah 34. And now it becomes clear that this verse from Revelation 14 has nothing to do with this unbiblical idea known as “Eternal Torment”!

DON’T IGNORE ISAIAH, CH. 34

.

And this is the point of this above passage from Isaiah 34: that even though there is smoke rising for ever and ever, there is nobody being tortured here. Is there? Were there people tormented? Oh yes. Revelation 14 makes that abundantly clear! But they were finally destroyed. Isaiah makes that clear. Then the fire goes out. And then it talks of the various beasts and owls, like the one in this photo, which will live there… 

.

Listen once more…“There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate. Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate:”

.

And so this passage ends with a happy ending, saying that all these creatures will re-populate the Earth after God’s judgment…“And none shall lack her mate”!

.

Thus, we begin to understand that when smoke “ascends for ever and ever”, it doesn’t mean that those enemies of God will be tormented for ever and ever. Tormented? Yes! But not tormented endlessly!

.

Notice that the land is now desolate. And notice that “none shall pass through it for ever and ever”. And yet this land will be a home for various unclean beasts and owls. But where is all this so-called “Eternal Torment”? Where are all those humans being tormented for ever and ever? They are nowhere to be found! And yet the smoke of their torment ascends up for ever and ever!

“…for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea…”

.

So, here’s a very revealing passage from Isaiah 34, in which the Lord considers this slaughter to be a sacrifice…

.

“For My sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of My curse, to judgment.
The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.” Isaiah 34:4-6

.

And so, when we read of smoke rising for ever and ever, it is as a sacrificial smoke rising for ever and ever. And if all this is the Lord’s intent, then such a sacrificial smoke rising begins to take on a completely different meaning, would you not agree?

LOCATING THE DRAGON

.

The Dragon Constellation can be located by finding Orion in winter months. The Dragon is to Orion’s left, and the Dragon’s mouth is right next to Orion’s shield. This Dragon’s mouth is the V-like constellation The Hyades Cluster, which is the very same constellation that comprises the head of Taurus the Bull. In other words, Hyades is also known as the head of Taurus the Bull. And Hyades is the mouth of this Dragon.

.

The tip of the Dragon’s tail is composed of that star-cluster known as The Pleiades. The Pleiades is actually in the shape of a lion’s furry tassel tip of his tail. The sketch below shows this Pleiades as the tail tip.

.

Now with aid of a dark starry night, you may begin to connect this mouth and the tail with a very long body in an oval shape. The front and back legs are very well-defined with stars. The front legs are made partially of Taurus. The back legs and rear fin are made of the Cetus Constellation. But the long oval-shaped body has relatively few stars, but can been seen, howbeit with a dark starry night. The four stars of the front fins are made partially of Taurus. This Dragon constellation appears in the eastern horizon about mid-summer in the pre-dawn hours, spewing his flood-waters northward toward the Woman of Revelation 12 (Woman in Travail). The Wave of Water is primarily composed of the Constellation Auriga. The are two more less bright stars which are closest to the Dragon’s mouth. These two dimmer stars are also part of this Wave of Water.

SATAN: A TRUE BRIDGE-BUILDER!?

You would think that being called a “Bridge-builder” has to be a good thing!

.

Well, most of the time it is a good thing!

.

After all, being a peace-maker, and a reconciler is a very good quality to have!

.

Well, it’s a good thing, unless of course we’re talking about Lucifer!

.

But how in the world can we possibly call Lucifer a “bridge-builder”!?!

.

MADE OF MANY “GOOD” THINGS

.

Well, one great principle that must be remembered, now that we are in the time of the False Prophet (this present-day antichrist society), is that he has bridged the gap between the Church and this evil world with many things which have the appearance of goodness: Innocent amusements! High-paying careers! Interesting hobbies! Intriguing sciences!

.

And it gives his Satanic Majesty no greater pleasure than to see Christians walking across this bridge, back into the world!

BUILT WITH MANY “NICE” THINGS!

.

And so, “the god of this world” has constructed this bridge back into the world: a bridge which has been built with a lot of seemingly good, even innocent things!

.

There are places to see, resorts to relax at, clubs to join, sports games to play (or watch), expensive insurance plans to buy, dramas to intrigue, worldly investments, confederations to pledge-allegiance to, operas, concerts and plays and musicals to dress up for, newspapers to relax and read or TV news to watch, holidays to plan for and celebrate, school events to attend, teams to cheer, and on and on this list goes!

.

And the world loves these things!

.

But that’s their prerogative! After all, the world is not on the Narrow Upward Pathway, as Believers are supposed to be climbing.

.

“ANOTHER JESUS…& ANOTHER SPIRIT”

2nd Corinthians 11:4

.

But should the Christian let his or her guard down, before long, as we join hands, so to speak, with the world, it becomes increasingly difficult to distinguish the Christian from the worldling.

.

But the Bible warns… “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?…Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean [thing]; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” 2nd Corinthians 6:14-18 (click to read all)

Yes, as this above passage commands, there must be a separation from the world, if ever we wish for God to treat us as His children!

“A PECULIAR PEOPLE”

.

Read once again…

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:

for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?…

Wherefore come out from among them,

and be ye separate, saith the Lord,

and touch not the unclean [thing];

and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you,

and ye shall be My sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Notice in this above passage, that it almost sounds like separation is a pre-requisite to God dealing with us as His children!

“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people”

.

If for no other reason than to maintain a distinction between the Believer and the world, we need to keep a separation from the many seemingly nice things, which the False Prophet has built his bridge with. “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of Him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvellous light:” 1st Peter 2:9.

.

Now such a verse as this, calling Christians a royal priesthood, a peculiar people, is an absolutely preposterous idea to many!

.

And let’s face it, most of us don’t like rejection. It’s human nature to want to be accepted. Not too many wish to be seen as an “odd duck”! And so, many Christians try very hard to blend in.

IS ‘BLENDING-IN’ A BAD THING?

.

And truthfully, there’s nothing wrong with trying to blend-in. On the other hand, there’s nothing wrong with being distinctively Christian either!

.

The problem comes in when a Christian begins to adorn his or her own self with ungodly adornments: un-Christ-like conversation, dementing associations, corrupting amusements and compromising places of revelry.

.

All these seemingly nice things begin to becloud our spiritual senses, and gradually and imperceptibly revert us back into the spirit of the world.

.

SORRY, BRIDGE OUT!

Oh well, yes, we must work and raise our families, and do other things in society. And it’s true, we can’t come completely out of the world. But the fact is, we can come a good way out, if we so-choose!

.

And no, we are not to begin wearing uniforms, grow a long, Nazarite-like beard, or speak in “Thee’s” and “Thou’s”.

.

But, rather, we need to guard our heart with all diligence against becoming one in spirit with the world…We need to NOT allow ourselves to cross that bridge back into the world. We need to study God’s Word, to understand just where the proper boundary-line is between using, but not abusing the things of the world.

.

“…Wherefore come out from among them,

and be ye separate, saith the Lord,

and touch not the unclean [thing];

and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you,

and ye shall be My sons and daughters,

saith the Lord Almighty.”

THE ARK IN THE HEAVENS

.

If a person goes out at night, beginning in April (earlier in southern-most latitudes, and later in northern-most), in the pre-dawn hour, they just might locate the constellation commonly referred to as theSagittarius Constellation . It is located in the southern sky. (Each night it appears a little earlier, slowly inching westward, through the summer, until it finally disappears below the western horizon in November.)

At first, it simply appears as two twin birds flying westward. But if you look once again, it just might appear as a long box-like figure, with one star on the right, as you face it, and two stars on the left. The box, of course would be the Ark, and the stars on either side would represent angels, which are sometimes referred to as stars in the Bible (for instance, “the seven stars are the angels…” Revelation 1:20). To the right is a star-chart from Wikipedia, in which the editor of this site has sketched in this Sagittarius Constellation, to show how God created it to appear.

Several nights ago, a very popular Christian speaker held a large convocation with a vast throng of tens of thousands of listeners.

.

And this evangelist gave a very high-energy presentation, with a very positive message. 

.

Well, the gist of what he said is, “We need to think positive, speak positive, and believe positively, that God has good things in store for us here on earth!” Yes, this popular speaker continued to present a message about achieving our earthly dreams: earthly dreams for ourselves and for our families.

“SMOOTHER THAN BUTTER!”

.

“The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.” Psalm 55:21

.

This extravaganza was filled with short, but uplifting testimonies, a high-energy, upbeat rock band, attractive women, well-timed jokes, and smoother-than-butter preaching!

.

Well, needless to say, this presentation was received with no lack of enthusiasm!

.

The vast audience, thousands strong, seemed mesmerized, yet ecstatic about this uplifting and upbeat message! The night was a huge success!

FAMILY VALUES

.

Now, because one of the main focuses of that message was on good health, prosperity, but also about family values, today’s devotional will deal with the question of children, and how we raise them.

. 

There is a growing consensus that our society is fast becoming a veritable Sodom & Gomorrah! Decadence and perversion are rapidly becoming the order of the day!

.

And with the advent of modern high-tech devices, there doesn’t seem to be much hope for raising our children to love the Lord, and to escape the current wave of moral degeneracy, which is just now sweeping over the land like a giant tsunami!

.

And so, this question of family values becomes a very critical question! Just how do we raise our children to “escape all these things, and to stand before the Son of Man”? Luke 21:36

THE SINS OF SODOM

.

Well, one thing is for sure! We should not raise them to love the sins of Sodom!

.

Now there are many who do not understand just what the sins of Sodom were. But listen to what God has to say about this… “Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before Me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.” Ezekiel 16:49, 50

.

The fact is, the very first two sins mentioned were “pride”, and “fullness of bread”. And unfortunately, today’s churches do not understand that these two sins are exactly what we are teaching our children to love. Yes, when we encourage our children to go out and obtain a high-paying career, we are unknowingly encouraging them to go after the very same sins of opulence, which sins led to the downfall of Sodom, and ultimately led to her fiery destruction!

.

And sadly, this prosperity-driven gospel being embraced in the churches today, is giving our children exactly the wrong idea of what it means to be Christ-like!

CHRIST & PAUL: OUR ROLE-MODELS

.

Well, for one thing, the Christian should not be afraid to forsake the life of pleasure and proud pursuits, and order his or her life after the Divine Pattern of Jesus Christ. Well, that’s what Paul did!

.

Listen to Paul’s testimony… “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” Philippians 3:8

.

Yes, Paul became poor in the eyes of the world, all for the sake of winning Christ. Yes, Paul lost all earthly glory and all worldly possessions, in hopes that the world might see Christ in him; and this became the over-arching desire of Paul’s life.

.

And Paul encourages us by saying… “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” 1st Corinthians 11:1

DEATH-TO-SELF BRINGS GOD’S BLESSINGS

You see, we can try to give our children a Wonder-World Theme-Park existence, attempting to turn their life into one continuous round of picnics, parties, sports, vacations, amusements, and whatever else we think will make them happy and well-adjusted.

.

But that will not save their soul! No, true Salvation is the gift of God! And yet, God gives us hope, that by my own personal obedience, He will bless my children, as result!

.

Listen… “Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in His ways…Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD. Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.” Psalm 128:1, 3, 4, 6

As this above passage reveals, it is by walking in the way of Jesus, God will bless our family.

TRUE RICHES: EVERLASTING LIFE!

“In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth.” Isaiah 2:20, 21

So just what day is this above prophecy speaking of?

Obviously, it is speaking of these last days!

.

Yes, this is very Good News! After all, it says here that God’s people will finally wake up and realize that we cannot please God, while seeking after earthly Mammon!

.

And it reveals that God’s people will finally realize that the Salvation of our children will only be accomplished when we finally decide to order our lives after the pattern of Christ!

.

And it reveals that God’s people will finally realize that Everlasting Life is worth everything, and that pursuing the gold of this world, is like seeking after Fool’s Gold!

Yes, Everlasting Life! Now that’s true riches!

THE NARROW WAY: THE PILGRIM’S PATHWAY

.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 

.

That world-shaking allegory, Pilgrim’s Progress by John Bunyan, picked up the theme of the Narrow Gate. The hero of the story was Christian, a man who was warned to flee from the City of Destruction (the world), and to embark on a journey to the Heavenly City. And along the way, Christian encountered many adventures and dangers. This first of its kind allegorical book absolutely rocked the western world, and became perhaps the first million seller book (along with the Bible).

.

But God has also given this same Narrow Way parable in the night heavens! Incredible? Yes, incredible…and amazing too! And though these two stars can hardly be considered a constellation, but when sitting next to the two stars which comprise the Broad Gate, well, it makes a powerful statement, for the people of God. 

.

So please come along on this journey and find out just why this pathway graces the night heavens, and perhaps you might find yourself embarking on your own pilgrimage up that very same Narrow pathway.

LOCATION

.

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter. Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter being the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story). Orion , the Dragon, and the Glorious White Horse are beginning to descend into the western horizon (sketch to right is Winter Constellations descending into western horizon. This can actually be seen as early as December, in the pre-dawn hours).

.

And at this point it is apparent that the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation  is veering toward the two bright stars, known as Castor and Pollux (sketch to left). But the Wide Gate Stars are composed of the two brightest stars of the Auriga Constellation, known as the star, Capella, and the star, Menkalinan. The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.

.

This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark). While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions. It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

The sketch to left shows, the two doors are each composed of two bright stars. The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle. The two stars that comprise the ‘Wide Gate’ Stars are the two brightest stars of the wave of water that comes out of the Dragon Constellation’s mouth (for explanation of “Wave of Water”, just click here). The stars that make up the ‘Narrow Gate’ are about half the width of the Wide Gate (see sketch below left).

TREASURE CHEST OF THE HEART

.

Well, to start with, our signature Bible passage for today presents a truth that affects and determines which Jesus we preach to others…

.

Listen to the fiery words of Jesus, recorded in Matthew’s Gospel…

Herein is revealed a great error which many so-called Christians make on a daily basis! We do not realize that what we fill up our hearts with during our daily lives, will ultimately come gushing forth, when conversing with others!

In other words, by allowing our minds to dwell on un-Christian themes, we are inadvertently filling our treasure chest with un-Christlike thoughts, which will ultimately come gushing forth in our conversation with the people of the world!

A WALKING/TALKING NEWSREEL!

For example, if I allow myself to become a “News-Junkie”, and begin to gobble up every little news tidbit, each and every day, well, guess what will come gushing forth in my conversation with others? That’s right! I will become a walking/talking news gossip!

Of if I allow myself to become absorbed with some radio or TV talk show, then that’s what will come spilling out of my mouth when conversing with others!

If I allow the things of the world, the riches and pleasures of this life, to absorb my everyday thoughts, then that is what is being treasured up in my heart!

BEG & PLEAD FOR GOD’S GRACE!

We just need to fall down before God’s throne and plead with Him to give us the grace to accomplish this! We must beg God for a thorough repentance from our wayward path, to return to the true pathway.

HOW THE GATES RELATE TO ORION & DRAGON

.

This sketch below is when these constellations are in the eastern sky in early winter (However, this constellation group can even be seen as early as July, in the pre-dawn hours). In the eastern sky, it’s not so easily seen which gate the Revelation 12 Woman will enter. The Wide Gate is made of the two brightest stars of this Wave of Water Constellation. Satan spews out the deadly water of his false worldly ideologies; which many of these ideologies have a form of godliness, but in some way are not in harmony; or perhaps these worldly ideologies add to the Bible, which is strictly forbidden (see Deuteronomy 4:2).

On the other hand, the Strait Gate (narrow gate) is composed of the two brightest stars of the Orion The Reaper’s sickle. The true Strait Gate represents Jesus, the Word of God. Listen… “I [Jesus] am the Door: by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” John 10:9

THE TWO PATHWAYS

.

“And unto this people thou shalt say, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life, and the way of death.” Jeremiah 21:8.

.

As this above verse declares, God has set these two pathways before each human. And each human must decide which door he or she will enter. Nobody who has come into this has been overlooked. Listen… “[Jesus] was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:9.

.

Now if this verse is correct, then Christ is the light that enlightens, “every man that comes into the world”. Christ is not just the light that enlightens SOME. But He is the light that enlightens EVERY man, woman and child who comes into the world; even those who have lived in remote places, throughout history. Every person has a conscience. And every man must choose who he or she will serve. This is what the Bible calls, “the way of life, and the way of death.” Jeremiah 21:8.

THE ARMOR OF GOD

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord,

and in the power of His might. 

Put on the whole armour of God,

that ye may be able to stand

against the wiles of the devil. 

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places.

ANSWER: These people are all being attacked by unseen spiritual entities.

Yes, whether we know it or not, like it or not, this present world is ruled over by spiritual beings who, long ago rebelled against God, thus leaving their first estate (Jude 1:6). And in their warfare against God’s universal government, they have created this Antichrist world-system of which we are all a part of, to one degree or another.

And especially in this day in which psychology and psychiatry are dominant world ideologies, it is to Satan’s advantage to plague mankind with many obsessive thoughts and lusts and desires: some desires seemingly good, while other thoughts being overtly evil and dangerous.

And tragically, many people do not have the spiritual armor to resist these unseen evil spiritual beings. They do not have what the Bible calls, “The Armor of God”.

LOOSING THE BANDS OF ORION

God spoke several times of Orion, in Scripture. His question to Job was a very mystifying question, to say the least… “Canst thou…loose the bands of Orion?” Job 38:31. Such a strange question, indeed! How could a constellation have its bands loosed, much less, even have bands? Puzzling, puzzling!

But now, He is revealing this bright and beautiful constellation in a way that has never before been seen. God Himself is loosing Orion’s bands, as He is just now unraveling this age-old mystery. And we are beginning to understand that this most infamous of all constellations is nothing less than a remarkable metaphor concerning Jesus.

NO FEAR?

.

It seems as though the world is always doing exactly the opposite of what they should be doing!

.

For instance, in a day in which the world is standing on the verge of Eternal Judgment, a popular clothing line comes out with the logo, “NO FEAR”.

.

Now perhaps the creators of this line of clothing had no intention of snubbing their nose at that fearful day in which God will judge the secrets of men’s hearts, and assign to each person their eternal reward.

“Therefore pride compasseth them (the wicked) about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness:…they speak loftily…”

But all this selfish pride is seen all over the place!

A veritable pandemic of arrogant pride!

For example, just look at all the movies which Hollywood puts out each year! Pride, whether in-your-face, or very subtle, pride is seen in most of the players, in one form or another!

From the action hero movies to the little children’s cartoons, we have boldness, defiance, and fearlessness pumped into our brains, coming straight out of the smokestacks of Hollywood’s movie-making industry (and also the music industry)!

SOCIAL MEDIA

And what about social media?! It’s almost unbelievable to see how social media has ratcheted up foolish arrogant pride!

And how about the mob violence created by social media!

A VERY DANGEROUS WORLD!

But certainly, this very fragile and uncertain world has many other temporal dangers and snares, so much so, that having a healthy fear would only seem like a prudent, rational, and reasonable attitude to maintain!

From poisonous plants to vicious animals, to deadly diseases, to dangerous places, to violent and overtly evil people, there are dangers awaiting us, literally everywhere!

“NO FEAR” IN THE CHURCH?

.

But it is not only the secular and unbelieving world who snub their noses at God’s great judgment! No, even the Christian world seems to lack enough healthy fear of God…

.

Listen…“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1st John 4:18  

.

This above passage is the rationale for many churchgoers to have little or no fear of God in today’s church-world…“Oh, we should never fear God!”…say many presumptuous churchgoers!

OUR LOVE IS LESS-THAN-PERFECT

.

But the problem is, which one of us can claim to have perfect love for God, when there still exists so much sin and selfishness in our lives?

.

After all, sin and selfishness are rebellion against God’s Law!

.

And so, for those of us who are still so neck-deep in selfishness, to claim to have such perfect love which “casteth out all fear”, is more than just a bit presumptuous, would you agree?

.

COMPARING SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE

.

But even if our love was much more perfect than it presently is, we still must balance such passages as 1st John 4:18, with all the other passages which give us a more well-rounded understanding of our proper relationship to God…

.

Listen…“My flesh trembleth for fear of Thee; and I am afraid of Thy judgments.” Psalm 119:120

.

Here is a passage which seems to be in direct contradiction to 1st John 4:18. And any rational Christian would be foolish to reject this counsel, while clinging only to 1st John 4:18.

TREMBLING AT GOD’S WORD

.

Now listen to this next passage… “but to this man will I (the Lord) look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My Word.” Isaiah 66:2

.

So here again is a passage which is greatly ignored in today’s church-world. “After all”, say many, “this verse from Isaiah 66 is Old Testament, and not too relevant in these New Testament times!”

.

But remember what the Bible exhorts to us, concerning the relevance and importance of ALL SCRIPTURE…“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2nd Timothy 3:16, 17

A FEARLESSNESS TOWARD THE OLD TESTAMENT

.

But for those who are so fearless, that they snub the Old Testament counsels, let’s consider how Paul treats another Old Testament passage…“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels…See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from Heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also Heaven!'” Hebrews 12:22, 25, 26

.

Now this is just a portion of the entire passage (click here to read) which Paul is commenting on.

But the bottom line is, we need to fear and tremble at the very thought of the coming Day of the Judgment of God when He will arise to shake terribly, both Heaven and earth!

Considering That Day

.

And so, as one Christian so aptly put it… “Every one of us should be living with reference to that Great Day which is soon to come upon us.”

.

Yes, every one of us needs to have a fresh daily revelation of the coming Judgment. Especially considering how near that day is (and let’s face reality, folks! It’s already begun!)

“REJOICE WITH TREMBLING”

Perhaps the following words of David strike the proper balance between fear and rejoicing…“Be wise now therefore, O ye kings (Christians): be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the Way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.” Psalm 2:10-12

Yes, dear Christian, we must “serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling!”

Have you ever heard the expression, “He (or she) had to learn from the school of hard knocks”?

Well, simply put, when we decide to do things our way, instead of the right way, then we will most likely meet with failure and disappointment.

And all the disappointing repercussions which follow, will ultimately teach us to do things the right way in the future.

This is what is meant by, “learning our lessons in the school of hard knocks!”

PLANET EARTH: SCHOOL of HARD KNOCKS

Well, if we really think about it, this entire fallen world has been designed to be, “the school of hard knocks!”

Yes, when Mankind rebelled against Heaven’s government, God has allowed us to continue on in this rebellious world as a means of learning the hard way: to discover that God’s ways are the right ways!

And conversely, we learn that Man’s ways will eventually only bring trouble, heartache and ultimately, destruction!

LEARN FROM HISTORY

And all we have to do, is to look back in history, and it is clearly seen just what are the devastating results of spurning the wise counsels found in the Bible.

Yes, history is literally teeming with one human tragedy after another! Just look at all the wars, and famines, and crimes, and atrocities which have filled the pages of our history books!

(unfortunately, today’s school systems have decided that teaching history is detrimental to pushing their socialist/atheist philosophies, and have greatly reduced history classes or have revised and censored some history, so as to promote their totalitarian political/social agendas.)

PLANET EARTH: KNOXHARD UNIVERSITY!

Truly it can be said with “tongue-in-cheek”, that this world is the “Knoxhard University” of the universe! This tiny ball of rebellious dust called, Planet Earth, is the one place in all the vast starry heavens which has decided that we know better than God! 

.

And as one now-deceased songster so appropriately crooned, “I did it my way!” Yes, we erring humans can all say “Amen” to those words: “we did it our way!”

And so, instead of completely wiping us out, God in His wisdom has decided to allow Mankind to live and work and carry on in our rebellious ways. And by this means, Mankind will hopefully learn our tough lessons as we attend, “Knoxhard University”, this poor old miserable Planet Earth!

THE HOT STOVE LESSON

This is why God doesn’t take away all the disastrous and heart-wrenching results of our folly!

He is our Heavenly Father! And just as any loving parent would do when a child refuses to listen, God has allowed us to burn our fingers, so as to finally understand why He warns, “Don’t touch that hot stove!”

TO LISTEN, OR NOT TO LISTEN!

And so, the whole point to today’s devotional is, we have a choice to make. Well, the fact is, we all have many choices to make each day, don’t we, both big and little choices? And we can finally decide to listen to God’s Book, or we can insist on continue saying, “I did it my way!”

.

And thus, the question to be answered today is this: “Am I going to continue to attend that Knoxhard University, or am I going to attend God’s School of Discipleship? Am I going to continue to take my painful lumps in, “the school of hard knocks”, or will I finally sit down and begin listening to the peaceful and joyful wisdom from Heaven, found within the pages of the Bible?”

And may each and every one of us stand on that great Day of Reckoning, and joyfully say, “I did God’s way!”

7 STARS IMITATE THE CROSS OF ORION

Peter let down his Lord by denying him thrice. But God allowed this to happen, knowing that Peter would repent, later to become one of the zealous Followers of Jesus. Probably many Christians have let their Lord down in a big way in the past. And like Peter, they have repented, likewise to become even more ardent Followers of Jesus.

The Church, in these last days, has been flooded with every device that Satan could possibly conjure up, to cast across our pathway, and lead God’s sheep astray. And though the Church has been greatly hindered, God is about to purify His sin-laden people, who will finally lift up the Cross of Christ with such power and glory, as this world has never before seen.

And the Reader may just discover the way that he or she might also help lift that Cross up. And God has inscribed in the heavens, a picture of how the Church lifts up the Cross, as they imitate their Lord. So please read this very important article. And though it may take 30 minutes or so, it will be well worth the read.

LOCATING THESE TWO CONSTELLATIONS

.

This phenomenon begins in October, in the pre-dawn hours. It then begins a little earlier each night.

.

This Wikipedia star-chart to the left, has this Orion Constellation sketched in. You must locate Orion, when it is mid-sky, between east and west. You’ll be facing southward most likely, unless you are far south. Try to imagine it as a Cross on a steep hill. The 3-star belt of Orion becomes the crest of the hill. The 3 very faint stars that make up Orion’s head become the very top of the Cross.

.

 

Next, locate the 7 Stars Constellation. This 7 Stars Constellation is seen by facing northward. It stands upright a little later in the night. Eventually, Orion will lay down and no longer be seen as an uplifted Cross! Beginning in November, the 7 Stars (AKA Big Dipper) can be seen as a Cross a little bit later in evening.

When you are comfortable in locating Orion & The 7 Stars Constellations, then show a friend. This can be a great witnessing tool!

.
