Prayer in a Fragile World! Part 3: “No Fear On Judgment Day?”

It seems as though the world is always doing exactly the opposite of what they should be doing!

For instance, in a day in which the world is standing on the verge of Eternal Judgment, a popular clothing line comes out with the logo, “NO FEAR”.

.

Now perhaps the creators of this line of clothing had no intention of snubbing their nose at that fearful day in which God will judge the secrets of men’s hearts, and assign to each person their eternal reward.

.

.

.

.

.

A VERY DANGEROUS WORLD!

.

But certainly, this very fragile and uncertain world has so many temporal dangers and snares, that having a healthy fear would only seem like a rational and reasonable attitude to maintain.

From poisonous plants to vicious animals, to deadly diseases, to dangerous places, to evil people, there are dangers literally everywhere!

“NO FEAR” IN THE CHURCH?

.

But it is not only the secular, unbelieving world that snubs their noses at God’s great judgment! No, even the Christian world seems to lack a healthy fear of God…

.

Listen…“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” 1st John 4:18

.

This above passage is the rationale for many church-goers to have no fear of God in today’s church-world.

OUR LOVE IS LESS-THAN-PERFECT

.

But the problem is, which one of us can claim to have perfect love for God, when there still exists so much sin and selfishness in our lives?

.

After all, sin and selfishness is rebellion against God’s Law!

.

And so, for those of us who are still so steeped in sin and selfishness to claim to have perfect love which casteth out all fear, is a bit presumptuous, would you agree?

COMPARING SCRIPTURE WITH SCRIPTURE

But even if our love was much more perfect than it presently is, we still must balance such passages as 1st John 4:18 with all the other passages which give us a more well-rounded understanding of our proper relationship to God…

.

Listen…“My flesh trembleth for fear of Thee; and I am afraid of Thy judgments.” Psalm 119:120

.

Here is a passage which seems to be in direct contradiction to 1st John 4:18. And any rational Christian would be foolish to reject this counsel, while clinging only to 1st John 4:18.

TREMBLING AT GOD’S WORD

Now listen to this next passage… “but to this man will I (the Lord) look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at My Word.” Isaiah 66:2

.

So here again is a passage that is greatly ignored in today’s church-world. “After all”, say many, “this verse from Isaiah 66 is Old Testament, and not too relevant in these New Testament times!”

A FEARLESSNESS TOWARD THE OLD TESTAMENT

.

OK, for those who are so fearless, that they snub the Old Testament counsels, let’shttps://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:041A.Moses_Breaks_the_Tables_of_the_Law.jpg consider how Paul treats another Old Testament passage…But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels…See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused Him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from Heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying, ‘Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also Heaven!'” Hebrews 12:22, 25, 26

.

Now this is just a portion of the entire passage which Paul is commenting on. But the bottom line is, we need to fear and tremble at the very thought of the coming Day of the Judgment of God when He will arise to shake terribly, both Heaven and earth!

CONSIDERING JUDGMENT DAY

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Family_Portrait.jpg.

And so, as one Christian so aptly put it… “Every one of us should be living with reference to that Great Day which is soon to come upon us.”

.

Yes, every one of us needs to have a fresh daily revelation of the coming Judgment. Especially considering how near that day is!

“REJOICE WITH TREMBLING”

Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the Way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.” Psalm 2:10-12

.

Yes dear Christian, “serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling!”

LOOSING THE BANDS OF ORION

.

God spoke several times of Orion, in Scripture. His question to Job was a very mystifying question, to say the least… “Canst thou…loose the bands of Orion?” Job 38:31. Such a strange question, indeed! How could a constellation have its bands loosed, much less, even have bands? Puzzling, puzzling!

.

But now, He is revealing this bright and beautiful constellation in a way that has never before been seen. God Himself is loosing Orion’s bands, as He is just now unraveling this age-old mystery. And we are beginning to understand that this most infamous of all constellations is nothing less than a remarkable metaphor concerning Jesus.

THE 5 OFFICES OF ORION

.

But like most of the other Signs which this website reveals, Orion too, has much more to say as he changes his position in the sky. And this Soldier in the Heavens puts on different garb, as he presents the five awesome aspects of his various offices. From ‘Orion the Soldier’, and ‘Orion the Reaper’, and ‘Orion the Archer’, and ‘The Cross of Orion’, and last but certainly not least, “Orion, The Good Shepherd”. This amazing constellation presents a very complex revelation of the God’s magnificent love for a fallen planet.
