One night, before a high-school basketball game, two boys were waiting for the third boy to come by, so they could go to the game together.

.

The third boy was late, so the two called to see where he was. The boy’s younger brother answered, saying that his brother died that day in a terrible automobile/train accident!

.

Well, the boy that died was very well-liked, and the entire high-school was shocked and deeply saddened!

FAR TOO RELAXED!

.

We go about our lives in such a casual, nonchalant manner! It’s so strange how carefree we are, considering what a dangerous and even tragic world we live in! You would think that this unbelieving world would be much more nervous than they are!

.

But for Believers, it seems that we are likewise, much too nonchalant about life.

.

listen… “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

.

Yes, as this above verse encourages, we need to realize just how fragile life is! We need to really be cognizant of how dangerous this life is, in so many ways!

.

We just take far too much for granted!

OUR LIFE BUT A VAPOR!

.

Listen to James… “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14

Here it says that our life is a mere vapor, which appears for a little time!

A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD

.

But God has chosen us to be priests… “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,” 1st Peter 2:9.

.

And as priests, it is our duty to be constantly praying for our family, for our friends and neighbors, and for the Family of God! And we must remember to pray for our Human Family, in a world teetering on the brink of destruction!

“THE CAUSE WHICH I KNEW NOT, I SEARCHED OUT”

Job 29:16

.

Listen to this fearful warning… “If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not He that pondereth the heart consider it? and He that keepeth thy soul, doth not He know it? and shall not He render to every man according to his works?” Proverbs 24:11, 12

.

Here is a frightening passage which exhorts us to be ever praying for God’s mercy on those who are on the brink of destruction. And God is saying, howbeit in a round-about manner, that there is no excuse for our ignorance of prayer for these soon-to-die people. Yes, the Searcher of all hearts knows just who we should be praying for, and He would let us know, if we would only plead for an awareness.

Job, prior to his horrible trials, made a habit of searching out causes which he knew not. Yes, Job was very proactive in searching for those who needed help of one kind or another.

.

Listen to Job’s testimony…“I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.” Job 29:16

.

DANGEROUS CITY LIFE

.

The daily news is filled with extremely frightening reports from big cities, of random brutal assaults on innocent pedestrians for no apparent reason!

.

If ever there was a time to engage in constant and unceasing prayer, it is now!

PRAY WITHOUT CEASING!

.

The Bible commands us to… “Pray without ceasing”. 1st Thessalonians 5:17

.

And so we must strive to attain to this level of prayer.

.

And the Bible says… “But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” 1st Peter 4:7

.

Yes, this above admonition from Peter is not optional! And maybe this verse just might be a good verse to commit to memory! 

.

OUR DIVINE ROLE-MODEL

.

The bottom line to this and to every other question concerning the heart, is the life of Jesus. And in the area of prayer, Jesus is our divine example! Yes, we are to look to Jesus’ prayer life, and attempt to imitate it. “What would Jesus do! How did Jesus pray?  Where would Jesus go? And where would He not go? How can I be more like Him in every area of my life?”

.

These are the kinds of questions we should be asking ourselves each and every day!

JESUS SAYS… WATCH!

.

Jesus warns us… “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the Master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly He find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” Mark 13:35-37

.

Yes, O Soldier of the Cross, we each must be sober and vigilant! There are dangers all around! Dangers from without! Dangers from within!

.

The silence of helpless and speechless lost Souls, cries out for our protective prayers on their behalf! We must pray much more than we now do!

.

And so, this little daily devotional is a challenge for both of us to spend more time in heart-felt prayer for our own soul, but also for all others!

“REJOICE WITH TREMBLING”

Psalm 2:11

Now, having said all this, let’s not get the false notion that we must pitifully walk through life under a dark cloud of doom & gloom.

Just the opposite!

.

The Bible lays out the proper balance of a Spirit-filled faith-walk…“As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.” 2nd Corinthians 6:10

.

Yes, even during the coming Time of Trouble, the Christian can and will be able to “rejoice in the Lord alway, and again I say REJOICE!” (Read and memorize Philippians 4:4-9)

LOOSING THE BANDS OF ORION

.

God spoke several times of Orion, in Scripture. His question to Job was a very mystifying question, to say the least… “Canst thou…loose the bands of Orion?” Job 38:31. Such a strange question, indeed! How could a constellation have its bands loosed, much less, even have bands? Puzzling, puzzling!

.

But now, He is revealing this bright and beautiful constellation in a way that has never before been seen. God Himself is loosing Orion’s bands, as He is just now unraveling this age-old mystery. And we are beginning to understand that this most infamous of all constellations is nothing less than a remarkable metaphor concerning Jesus.

THE 5 OFFICES OF ORION

But like most of the other Signs which this website reveals, Orion too, has much more to say as he changes his position in the sky. And this Soldier in the Heavens puts on different garb, as he presents the five awesome aspects of his various offices. From ‘Orion the Soldier’, and ‘Orion the Reaper’, and ‘Orion the Archer’, and ‘The Cross of Orion’, and last but certainly not least, “Orion, The Good Shepherd”. This amazing constellation presents a very complex revelation of the God’s magnificent love for a fallen planet.
