.
“(According as it is written,
God hath given them (Israel) the spirit of slumber,
eyes that they should not see,
and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
Be not highminded, but fear:
For if God spared not the natural branches (Israel),
take heed lest he also spare not thee.”
Romans 11:8, 20, 21

Vincent Van Gogh, one of the world’s most infamous artists, once cut off his ear (or part of his ear), to prove his love for a certain “woman of ill-repute”.
.
And so, his unsuccessful attempt to woo this adulterous woman which he loved, left Van Gogh without his one ear (at least in part).

WE TOO HAVE CUT OFF OUR EAR!
.
Now today’s society laughs at Van Gogh’s foolish “sacrifice of love”.
.
And yet, many Christians have cut off BOTH EARS for the sake of a certain harlot woman’s love!
.
Yes, many, or perhaps most of the professed people of God have made an even greater, “sacrifice of love” for a “woman of ill repute”, which is the Bible symbol for the apostate portion of the Church!

How is this possible? How have we Christians cut off our ears for the apostate Harlot Church?

OUR SPIRITUAL EARS
.
Listen…“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” Revelation 2:7
.
This above statement is repeated 7 times in the Book of Revelation. It is a very enlightening statement because it reveals that there are those in the churches of God who do not have ears to hear! Oh yes, they have physical ears. But they do not have spiritual ears to hear God’s criticisms of His people. And so, they cannot hear!
.
It reminds one of Paul’s following assessment of an apostate church…“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2nd Timothy 3:7
.
Yes, in the apostate church-world, parishioners are often attending Bible studies. And yet they cannot hear the truths that will set them free from their bondage to sin! They are, “Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2nd Timothy 3:7

“Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee”
.
Listen… “Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.” Proverbs 9:8, 9
.
This above proverb instructs us just how a Spirit-filled Believer will respond to criticism. He will accept, and yes, even love all valid criticism that he previously was not aware of! Because, the first and foremost desire of a true worshiper of God, is to conform his (or her) life to the likeness of Jesus!
.
And so, the very essence and life-blood of the daily life of a child of God, is to joyfully accept correction from God, but also, even if it comes in the form of criticism from mere erroneous humans!
.
And so, the seven letters to the seven churches in Revelation are all about God’s praise, but also His criticism of His people.
.
.
.
.
.
“In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction”
Jeremiah 2:30
.
But hearing God’s chastisements requires His professed people to have at least one ear to hear! And that means, there has to be a willingness and yes, even a delight within the Christian, to receive correction!
.
Unfortunately, there are churches (and individuals) who do not accept correction. They do not understand that correction is the very life-blood of the daily life of God’s people, collectively and individually!
.
Listen… “In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction” Jeremiah 2:30. Here is described a sorrowful condition of God’s children, both in Jeremiah’s day and in our day, as well!

.
“CHASTENED EVERY MORNING”
.
But listen again regarding God’s true worshipers… “For all the day long have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.” Psalm 73:14
.
Here is seen that the life of a genuine Believer is a life of correction. Yes, even a life of being plagued, quite often!
.
Oh yes, God allows the Devil to take part in the correction of a true Believer.
.
And frequently, such correction can add up to many hours of painful suffering! Even to the point that the Believer prays for God to take him (or her).

DYING WITH CHRIST UNACCEPTABLE!
.
But those who refuse correction no longer participate in God’s primary purpose to purify a people unto Himself.
.
They would rather just, “enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season… than to suffer affliction with the people of God,” Hebrews 11:25
.
Unfortunately, this is the condition of most church-goers. Oh yes, they would like to go to Heaven after living a long and happy life here on earth. But they have no desire to die with Christ. That would require becoming totally Christlike!
.
.
.
.
.
A LOVING FATHER’S CHASTENING
.
Listen to the Wise Man, Solomon…“My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of His correction: For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom He delighteth.” Proverbs 3:11, 12
.
Here we see that those who are considered “sons of God” will be treated with loving correction by their Heavenly Father…

CORRECTION GRIEVOUS TO ALL APOSTATE ONES
.
But listen to the fate of all who refuse to hear the words of correction… “Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.” Proverbs 15:10
.
And so, the Book of Revelation begins by giving these seven letters of commendation as well as criticism and rebukes to the seven churches. This is the very foundation of the Book of Revelation!
.
And though these letters were addressed to those seven churches of Asia, they are each concluded by Jesus saying… “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit sayeth to the churches!”

THE GOOD NEWS!
.
Now the very Good News is, that the doors of Salvation are still open! And all who can hear these letters, can call out to God for forgiveness and repentance!
.
Listen… “As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice.” Psalms 55:16, 17
.
We must never give up crying to the Lord for deliverance, even in seemingly impossible circumstances!
.
And only then, once we have received the Lord’s grace, it can be said of us…“As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.” Proverbs 25:12

TODAY’S PRAYER…
“Dear Lord, Give me two ears to hear Thy Fatherly reproofs and corrections. Let me take account of my life each and every day, and turn away from my love for this present world, and begin to look steadfastly Heavenward…

TODAY’S FEATURED HEAVENLY SIGN
.
.
.
THE HOLY GHOST RIDER CONSTELLATION
.
This newest Signs Of Heaven Constellation (Fall, 2013) is by far the faintest of constellations, but is a very incredible and awesome one in a number of ways (which this article will explain).
.
.
It is primarily comprised of the Camelopardalis Constellation (head and upper back), plus about 5 stars from the Cassiopeia Constellation (his leg), plus some random stars. It appears as an outline of a rider. Only the back of his head is detailed. And his back and the back of his legs are also detailed. Both sides of his arm are visible, and his hand is gripping the horses mane, and that is detailed by three stars (which are also part of the horse’s mane). The rider is in a position vaguely similar to a race-horse jockey. The two brightest stars in this constellation, are from the Cassiopeia Constellation, and are part of his leg. All the rest of the stars are very faint, and must be viewed on a very starry night.
.
Since this constellation has just been revealed, there may be more to this constellation in the coming months. But if you can locate the Goodly Horse in Battle Constellation, then you shouldn’t have too much trouble locating this Rider Constellation, provided you have excellent star-watching conditions.
.
The above picture is not a totally accurate, but hopefully close enough to locate these constellations in the night-sky. Scroll down this page to see actual star-charts.

“HE THAT HATH EARS TO HEAR”
.
“He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;” Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 29, 3:6, 13, 22
.
As you can easily see, this horse has some very big ears. Of course, this presents a very big concept. And since this Rider represents the Holy Spirit, it is obvious that He is leaning close, as if to whisper His words in the horses’ ears. And so what is He (The Spirit) whispering in this horses ears? Well, primarily the messages to the 7 churches, found in Revelation Ch.’s, 2 & 3.
.
But not everyone has ears to hear. Listen to Ezekiel… “Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.” Ezek. 12:2. Yes, the rebellion amongst God’s professing people was great, and they had all but closed their ears from hearing truth.
.
Well it’s the very same problem in the New Testament. Listen to Jesus… “If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.” Mark 7:16.
.
So this Rider whispering into this Horse’s ears is a heavenly picture of this concept… “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches;” Rev. 2:7, 11, 17, 29, 3:6, 13, 22.
.
Now the great lesson to be learned, is that there are certain truths, which those who are rebellious in God’s house, will not be able to hear. And these messages to the 7 churches are those very types of messages, that many “Christians” just do not like to hear.
.
And so, what is the bottom line. Well, it would be a very good idea, for each and every one of us to humble ourselves before God, and plead with Him to give us spiritual ears to hear these deeper truths which God is trying to tell us.
