“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

There is no shortage of self-help books published addressing the various deviant lifestyles, such as homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, etc….

.

And of course, the world has its own philosophy concerning these maladies, and most self-help books fall in line with the status-quo in the psychological community as to the cause and maintenance of these “lifestyles”.

.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

.

Now, some of these books come from a Christian perspective to a limited extent.

.

Probably most of these “Christian” self-help books are merely cloaked in a thin veneer of religiosity, but with psychology/psychiatry actually being at the heart of the message.

“HAVING NO HOPE, AND WITHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD”

Ephesians 2:12

Now, one very common thread in most all of these books is to try to attribute the cause of these deviant lifestyles to genetic origin.

And the popular thinking today is that there is no cure for these deviant lifestyles, but only the hope for, “growing acceptance” by society.

.

And so, there is a huge effort to make these once shameful lifestyles into acceptable “alternative lifestyles”.

.

“FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD”

Ephesians 6:12

But the fact is, there is a great hope for those caught up in homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, etc.!

In the last installment of “Sodom Rising”, the true cause of these abhorrent lusts was dealt with from a biblical perspective.

.

And it was revealed that mankind’s struggles are not with flesh and blood, but with spiritual powers and the forces of the darkness of this world, as it states in Ephesians 6:12

.

**To say it concisely, we have an unseen foe working against us, the “god of this world”, Satan.**

.

**And his antichrist spirit, “now worketh in the children of disobedience”, as it says in Ephesians 2:2.**

SATAN’S COUNTERFEIT ‘LOVE’

And the god of this world, Satan, is constantly bombarding people’s minds with overwhelming thoughts and lusts, so much so, that they begin to imagine themselves to be a so-called, “homosexual”!

**But this is merely “the prince of the power of the air”, that spirit now working upon human minds to deceive and to enslave them in this, as well as countless other lusts!**

.

“YE SHALL SEEK ME AND FIND ME”

Jeremiah 29:13

Now the point of today’s devotional is to place great emphasis upon the biblical answer to our sin problem, whatever our sins may be.

.

It is through a continual seeking for a closer and closer following after Jesus that sinful humans find victory over sin.

.

And whether it is drunkenness, tobacco addiction, coffee addiction, drug addiction, homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, cussing, TV watching, music addiction, or whatever else begins to become master over any individual, the cure is the same: Jesus!

“…WHEN YE SHALL SEARCH FOR ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART”

Jeremiah 29:13

The Bible reveals the true intensity required for any and every professing Christian to obtain victorious Christianity…“And ye shall seek Me, and find Me, when ye shall search for Me with ALL your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13

.

There are multitudes who attend church each week, pay their tithes, serve in church offices, who never become “born again” for the simple reason that they have never truly sought the Lord Jesus with 100% devotion (of course, this 100% devotion is the gift of the grace of God, and not of works).

.

Instead of hiding God’s Word in their heart daily, and prayerfully striving to overcome the world/flesh/Satan, they are merely content to maintain a comfortable religion which allows them to continue seeking after the things of the world!

.

LOVE IS A MATTER OF THE HEART

Yes, God’s love is a quality that begins to reign and rule over our heart.

God is not interested in having Christians trash all our belongings.

But instead, we must do as that old song says…“Turn your eyes upon Jesus! Look full in His wonderful face! And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace!”

.

Yes, when a Believer turns to Jesus with all the heart, the things of earth gradually lose their tight grip on us, and we instead begin to seek after the riches of Heaven!

.

And the Good News is that all those who are slaves to sin in one form or another, may find victory by not giving up the Good Fight of faith!

And one day, these persevering ones will be able to say along with the Psalmist…

“I waited patiently for the LORD;

and He inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit,

out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a Rock,

and established my goings.

And He hath put a new song in my mouth,

even praise unto our God:

many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.”

FLEEING WOMAN CONSTELLATION

This page is about the Big Dipper, also called the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major ). However, the ancient pagan cultures did not see this constellation as God intended it to be seen. It is actually a headless woman in childbirth. This is seen in springtime. It is seen in the northern skies.

But as the seasons progress, this travailing woman flips upside down, now appearing as a woman with upraised arms like eagle wings who is running (eventually flying, as shown in sketch on right) into the wilderness (westward). “The full soul loatheth an honeycomb;

but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.”

Proverbs 27:7

This above proverb reveals a giant concept as to why so much of the world hates the Bible!

.

You see, the Bible is a closed Book for most people, to a great extent.

.

Because upon opening the Bible, it seems to be filled with so many awful, harsh, and judgmental condemnations!

.

It’s scary to the average person!

.

It’s like hearing one’s life-sentence being handed down by some harsh and blunt court judge!

“HUNGER & THIRST AFTER RIGHTEOUSNESS”

Matthew 5:6

.

And so, how can we expect anyone to open up that Book and begin reading, when it seems so unhappy and so frightening?

.

Well, as today’s signature verse says, “but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.” Proverbs 27:7

.

The people of the world, for the most part, are enjoying this world of selfishness.

.

They have no reason to turn to the Bible for help!

.

LONGING FOR THE FLESHPOTS OF THIS WORLD!

The Bible is filled with accounts of how the Old Testament people of God were not at all happy with God’s leading. They remembered their flesh-pots back in their Egyptian captivity…“We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:” Numbers 11:15

.

Yes, except for their cruel bondage in Egypt, they pretty much enjoyed their selfish lives back in Egypt. And they missed all that selfish carnality!

.

And this attitude continued on throughout their pilgrimage toward the Promised Land.

DESIRING TO HEAR “SMOOTH THINGS”

And even after entering into the Promised Land, they didn’t like what God’s prophets had to say to them!

.

Listen to the assessment from God…“That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:” Isaiah 30:9, 10

.

Just like so many faithful church-goers today, they just did not want to hear all the negativity directed at them.

.

And so, there is a rebellion in God’s house against all such hard and difficult words, either read from the Bible or spoken from the pulpit.

TURNING AWAY THE EARS FROM TRUTH

.

This disdain for the “hard sayings of the Bible” is why Paul foretells of the future time of church-wide apostasy… “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2nd Timothy 4:3, 4

.

Yes, the day is coming (and now is) when those in the churches will no longer endure sound doctrine.

.

But with ears longing to receive non-judgmental permission to continue pursuing this proud and selfish world, the vast majority of parishioners in today’s church-world insist on having the pulpits filled with preachers who will mostly avoid those Bible verses which condemn their proud and selfish ways.

GOOD NEWS!

.

But there is Good News, believe it or not!

.

Yes, for those who desire to hear the whole Gospel, both happy and unhappy, veiled and unveiled, the following promise is still available…“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6

.

Yes, for those who long after the righteousness of Christ, the entire Bible will begin to open up, and no longer be such a bitter pill to swallow!

.

And how is this possible?

.

How is it possible to actually begin to love these hard and difficult verses that make up so much of the Bible!?

.

Listen to the New Testament Book of James…

know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?

whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world

let your laughter be turned to mourning,

Here is the remedy for all spiritual maladies.

This is the prescription for a 100% devotion to God and His Word!

This is the Way that a hungering and thirsting soul might become indwelt by God’s Holy Spirit.

Add Thou Not!

Part 4:

“Which Day Is The Sabbath?”

“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God…

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth,

the sea, and all that in them is,

and rested the seventh day:

wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day,

and hallowed it”

Exodus 20:8-11

Here is the 4th Commandment (please excuse the blurry photo).

The problem is, most Christians don’t know what to do with this 4th commandment!

DIFFERING OPINIONS

Oh yes, some will say that the 7th-Day Sabbath is still in force.

.

Others say that it has been changed to Sunday.

.

Still others say that it is actually speaking of the spiritual rest which Believers enjoy.

And still others say that Sunday is now the Lord’s Day, spoken of in Revelation Chapter 1, and is no longer a “Sabbath”.

Well, God is not the Author of confusion.

.

So then, why is there so much confusion surrounding this much controverted day of worship?

Well, just why God seemed to have made this issue rather murky is not fully understood.

SOLA SCRIPTURA! (SCRIPTURE ONLY!)

But one thing is for sure!

Anytime we encounter a cloudy issue in the Bible, the Bible is the only way out of that confusion!

In other words, the Word of God is the supreme Judge and final Arbiter of all biblical disputations!

.

“I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. “

Job 23:12

Now, in order to finally arrive at truth, all truth-seekers must first embrace the Bible as God’s infallible Word of truth.

Anything less will only render us to become like…

“a wave of the sea, driven with the wind and tossed.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. ”

James 1:6-8

.

Here above, this passage warns us against being an unstable, “double-minded man!”

A CURE FOR DOUBLE-MINDEDNESS?

So how do I overcome this double-mindedness?

Listen to the Prophet, Jeremiah…

“Thy words were found, and I did eat them;

and Thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart…”

Jeremiah 5:16

.

This above Spirit in Jeremiah is the same Spirit which must rule the heart of each and every true worshiper of God!

“IT IS WRITTEN…”

.

Even Jesus walked through this world by the leading of God’s Word.

.

He met all spiritual oppositions by countering with these words, “It is written”!

.

**And so, for those who desire to come to the knowledge of the truth regarding the Sabbath (or any other Bible question), they must first cast themselves upon the Bible and its Author.**

.

Human reason is never good enough when attempting to discover truth!

.

“MAN SHALL…LIVE…BY EVERY WORD…OF GOD”

“but to this man will I look,

even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit,

and trembleth at My Word.”

Isaiah 66:2

.

This above verse defines just what is the proper spirit within all true worshipers of God.

.

And such a supreme regard for the Word of Christ triumphs over all Church traditions and religious dogma!

.

It causes every truth-seeking child of God to be willing to endure any persecution and any ” avoiding…what is falsely called knowledge” 1st Timothy 6:20 NKJV

.

“HUMBLE YOURSELVES IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD”

Finally, the New Testament Book of James offers the remedy for all spiritual maladies…

.

ASCENDING THE PATHWAY OF TRUTH

And so, once a Bible student can reach this level of self-distrust, and meekness of heart, then and only then can he or she begin to understand all seemingly confusing and controversial Bible doctrines.

.

And then, instead of relying on our own proud and foolish human wisdom, we can begin to walk up the gently-ascending Heavenward pathway of truth, which is comprised of every precept and every statute in God’s infallible Book, the Bible!

.

And a good place to begin that Heavenward journey is in Psalm 119.

.

How To Understand The Old Testament:

“What Do The Old Testament Nations Represent?”

“In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram,

saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land,

unto the great river, the river Euphrates:”

Genesis 15:18

Many truth-seeking Bible students are perplexed as how to understand the Old Testament, with all its various references to nations and kingdoms, many of which no longer exist.

NO LONGER RELEVANT?

So just how are we to understand all these Old Testament references?

Or are we to simply dismiss them altogether, as many of today’s Bible teachers recommend?

**Well, God wrote the Bible in such a way, that those who, “are without”, cannot understand the deeper spiritual truths of the Bible.**

Listen to the words of Jesus…“And He said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:” Mark 4:11

Here is revealed a giant clue to how the Bible is to be understood. The Bible is a spiritual Book. It has been written largely in parables, types, symbols, and allegories.

“BUT THE NATURAL MAN RECEIVES NOT THE THINGS OF THE SPIRIT…BECAUSE THEY ARE SPIRITUALLY DISCERNED”

And it must also be fully understood that to properly understand all these parables, etc., requires the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, even as it is written… “Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1st Corinthians 2:13

Here is revealed that it requires the presence of the Holy Spirit to properly discern Bible truth, and to comprehend the spiritual nature of the Bible.

Now all this leads us back to the question, “Just how are we to properly understand the Old Testament with all its various references to nations and kingdoms, many of which no longer exist?”

GOD’S PROMISE TO ABRAHAM

.

Today’s signature Bible verse is a quote by God Himself to Abraham in the form of a promise… “In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:” Genesis 15:18

.

Now this promise has never been literally fulfilled. Oh yes, it was partially fulfilled when the Jews moved into the earthly Promised Land becoming known as the nation of Israel.

But never did they gain rule over Egypt. Nor did they gain rule over Syria and Babylon.

.

And let’s face it! Israel did not rule over the other nations, such as Philistia, either.

“DO YE NOT HEAR THE LAW?…WHICH THINGS ARE AN ALLEGORY!”

Galatians 4:21, 24

Well, the Apostle, Paul, was disappointed and incredulous with the churches at Galatia saying…“Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?” Galatians 4:21

.

Paul was asking those churches why they could not truly hear what the law was saying, instead of merely attempting to keep the letter of the law.

THE ALLEGORICAL NATURE OF THE LAW

So just what was the law truly saying? Paul goes on to say…“Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?…Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants (Hagar and Sarah); the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.” Galatians 4:21, 24-26, 31

So Paul here is asking why the Galatians cannot hear what the law is truly saying.

In other words, the law is actually all about the Gospel of Salvation. But quite often, God has veiled the Gospel of Jesus within various allegorical accounts, such as this above account concerning Hagar and Sarah, each representing both the apostate portion and the faithful portion of the Church, respectively.

ALLEGORIES ABOUT THE CHURCH

And so it is also with the nations which God promised to Abraham. Even though those heathen nations were never a part of literal Israel, they nevertheless were allegorical references to God’s people, both the apostate portion and the faithful portion of the New Testament Church.

For example, Moab represents the apostate portion of the Church (see the article…June 6 (Cease Ye From Man! Part 5: A Heath in the Desert! Who is Moab?)).

Yes, not only Moab, but also Babylon, Philistia, Assyria, and the other pagan nations are actually to be understood allegorically when attempting to rightly divide God’s Word of truth.

Well, this certainly gives us enough to meditate on, and enough to study on. But God never claimed His Word is easy to be understood.

LIVING IN AN ATHEISTIC WORLD

Well, this type of comment is typical in this atheistic world.

Yes, to a great extent, the people of this world are conditioned to think in terms of the natural.

.

In other words, there is a tendency to explain away anything of the spiritual world, attributing such occurrences to something physical or mental.

.

After all, what other type of philosophy can we expect to come out from this, the Devil’s world?

WHEN CHRISTIANS TALK LIKE UNBELIEVERS

But what’s really sad is when supposed Christians make similar atheistic conclusions!

Oh yes, it’s true that Satan can perform his supernatural counterfeits of the Holy Spirit, giving certain individuals an overly guilty conscience.

The Bible has a number of accounts of certain devil-oppressed individuals whose fanatical religion was nothing more than an indwelling evil spirit.

.

And even in the New Testament, several demon-possessed persons freely acknowledged Jesus as the Messiah.

.

**And so, it should be no surprise when Satan raises up fanatical “Christians” who do things which His Satanic Majesty cruelly uses to stigmatize Christianity.**

“GRACE ABOUNDING TO THE CHIEF OF SINNERS”

Now, that well-known Christian author of yesteryear, John Bunyan, wrote the infamous book, “Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners” as an autobiography of his personal pilgrimage from an unbeliever to becoming a true Believer.

.

And in this little book, Bunyan recounted his various battles with demonic forces over a number of years as he was trying to find a stable relationship with God.

.

And even though Satan plagued Bunyan’s conscience making him do some extreme things, Bunyan eventually became saved, finally gaining a mature heavenly wisdom and a stable walk with the Lord.

.

CHRISTIANS RECEIVE A “TENDER CONSCIENCE”

And Bunyan spoke of how the Christian receives a “tender conscience” which he or she did not have prior to Salvation

And Bunyan pointed out that the Christian’s conscience is much more enlightened to sin than a worldling’s rather deadened conscience!

BOTH EXTREMES ARE BORNE OF THE SPIRITUAL WORLD

And so, regardless of whether a person is truly sensitive to sin, via a Heaven-sent conscience, or is a Hell-inspired fanatic with an overly guilty conscience, these two vastly different spiritual conditions cannot be attributed to a mere physical or mental origin.

.

These are both products of the spiritual world, either from Heaven or from the forces of Hell, and not inherent, as this atheistic world would have us to believe!

“COME OUT OF HER, MY PEOPLE!”

And so, here is one more reason why God is calling His people to “Come out of her (spiritual Babylon), My people, lest ye partake of her sins, and receive of her plagues”. Revelation 18:4

Yes, we must join the end-time exodus out of the current state of confusion and error in which the various churches and denominations have fallen into!

.

And in so-doing, we will joyfully discover that our spiritual bread and grace-filled waters have been abundantly provided on those high mountains and high hills in this “day when the towers (churches) fell!” See Isaiah 30:25 & 33:16

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION

THE TWO TURTLEDOVES CONSTELLATION… This constellation appears in early spring in the south. It moves from east to west during the night and slowly moves to the western horizon by fall. So these Two Turtledoves are a sign of witnessing to a lost and dying world. And it may just be that these Two Turtledoves are a sign of God’s last message to the world!

Yes, the Bible says… “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. It’s getting harder to deny that this world is crumbling before our very eyes!

.

Institutions which we thought were as solid as Gibraltar are now falling apart with such swiftness, that it is dizzying to behold!

.

Even the very nations which once lovingly embraced the great Christian Reformation are now willingly handing over the reins to other religions which desire to completely transform those societies to conform to their antichrist beliefs!

.

So what are we to do?

WHICH WORLD AM I LIVING FOR?

In other words, have I nestled down, making this selfish world the focus of my life?

Or have I truly renounced this present world in heart?

Oh yes, I have daily commitments to fulfill. I may have a family to raise, and to make as happy as possible. But when God searches my heart, will He be pleased at what He finds there? Listen to the Psalmist…“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23

The sad fact is that far too many Christians have laid aside our heavenly armor, and are instead devoting ourselves to the pursuit of earthly pleasures and ambitious attainments. And let’s face it! The “god of this world”, Lucifer, now called Satan, has provided enough distractions and diversions to keep Christians busy for a lifetime!

But the stark reality is, that all those who live for this present world will finally discover that this world will be their eternal grave plot.

INTO THE LAND OF EVERLASTING JOY!

But the Good News is that my life doesn’t have to end in such a sad and hopeless way! No, today I can still cry out for God’s deliverance from this world, and to create in me the desire to begin that heavenward sojourn.

Yes, this world can become the stepping-off point of my sojourn to Heaven as I begin that spiritual climb toward that wonderful Promised Land in which all over-comers will be eternally happy and content.

.

It is a world in which the sounds of joy and laughter and singing will resound against the everlasting hills, and echo through the lush ever-winding valleys.

.

Just look at the beauty still present in this sin-cursed earth and realize that this remaining beauty is merely a small token of what’s in store for all of Christ’s redeemed ones!

.

And there we will never grow old but will be forever happy and forever young!

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Rev. 12:3

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not. But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars. The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

“Revelation 17:8 – The Beast That Is Not, Yet Is”

CONTINUED

THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF YESTERDAY’S DEVOTIONAL…August 21 (The False Prophet, Part 17: “Revelation 17:8 – The Beast That Is Not, Yet Is”)

.

“The beast that thou sawest was, and is not;

and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit,

and go into perdition:

and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder,

whose names were not written in the book of life

from the foundation of the world,

when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is…”

Revelation 17:8

.

In yesterday’s devotional (click here), it was presented about the 1st Beast of Revelation Chapter 13, who persecuted Christians through the Dark Ages, but eventually received a deadly wound by a sword (that is, the “sword of the Spirit”, the Bible, now produced and distributed by the newly invented printing press)

.

“DEADLY WOUND WAS HEALED”

And so, this first Beast went down into defeat, and became the beast that “was and is not”. (Revelation 17:8)

And yet, as Scripture reveals, its deadly wound was healed!

Yes, this religious system was to recover from its deadly wound.

And in the subsequent decades, it once again ascended out of the bottomless pit.

But this time, it emerged as a very benign beast.

No longer did it carry on its reign of terror! No longer did it torture, banish, censure, imprison, and murder its foes!

.

No, just the opposite, it became a beast-dressed-in-white. A religious “good-guy”! And it now began to embrace the Bible (to a very limited extent), the very Book it attempted to obliterate out of existence through the Dark Ages!

NO LONGER A TYRANT!

.

And now, Satan began to come as the 2nd Beast of Revelation 13, The False Prophet (see Revelation 19:20 & 20:10).

This Beast was actually comprised of the 6th & 7th heads of the 1st Beast. (To read about this 2nd Beast, go here…“The Two Horns of the 2nd Beast”

But the modus-operandi of this 2nd Beast was so vastly different from the 1st Beast, that it once again fooled the world’s inhabitants.

Thus, this Antichrist Beast was apparently, the Beast that “is not, and yet is”.

Because, instead of persecuting the saints by violence and murder and torture and imprisonment, etc… this seemingly new beast, The False Prophet, began to destroy God’s people by immersing the former Reformation nations of Europe (and the U.S.) into earthy opulent materialism and the decadent pleasures of the earth (hence, this 2nd beast is spoken of as, “coming up out of the earth” Revelation 13:11).

The False Prophet,

Part 17:

“Revelation 17:8 – The Beast That Is Not, Yet Is”

“The beast that thou sawest was, and is not;

and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit,

and go into perdition:

and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder,

whose names were not written in the book of life

from the foundation of the world,

when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is…”

Revelation 17:8

.

There is a micro-organism transmitted to humans and animals via a little sand-fly, which attacks the human body and sometimes causing death.

.

It is classified as, “Leishmaniasis”, and results in what has been named, “The Black Sickness”.

.

The really amazing aspect to this little microbe is that it disguises itself so well that the human white blood cells cannot detect its invisible presence, thus allowing it to do its deadly work on that infected human.

And this disappearing act by that little microbe can no doubt be witnessed in many areas of nature, by other things, both animate and inanimate.

“THE BEAST THAT…IS NOT, AND YET IS”

Now in today’s signature verse, the Revelation 13 Beast is spoken of in the following way…“when they (the unsaved) behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is…” Revelation 17:8

.

It is common knowledge, even among many unbelievers, that Satan works best when nobody believes he actually exists.

.

The problem is, while they are correct, the world has been completely deceived by this invisible enemy of souls!

WHEN IS A BEAST NOT A BEAST?

Now, the Book of Revelation, Chapter 13, reveals two beasts which rule over the people of the world.

.

And of these two beasts it is written…“The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is…” Revelation 17:8

.

Now this above verse is somewhat confusing as to this beast that “is not and yet is”.

.

Just what could this possibly be speaking of?

Well, one very real probability is found when understanding just who this beast is.

THE ANTICHRIST WORLD-SYSTEM

This website has devoted much time to discussing the two beasts of Revelation 13.

And it has been revealed that this first beast was comprised of the kings and kingdoms of this world: Satan’s antichrist kingdom that this world is!

And for a time period of 42 prophetic months (actually 1260 literal years), the apostate church of Europe (the 5th head of this beast), continued its totalitarian and tyrannical reign over those various countries, using banishment, imprisonment, censure-ship, torture, and murder to control and prevent all dissension by great masses of Europeans through those Dark Ages.

CHURCH & STATE

Now during those centuries, it was commonly believed by true Christians, that this counterfeit religion (combined with secular governments) was the fulfillment of the Revelation 13 Beast.

And this old engraving picture to the right reveals that the common understanding of the Reformationists of those days, was that this harlot-with-a-wine-cup who rode the beast actually symbolized the apostate Church as she rode on the back of Satan’s multifaceted Beast, comprised of kings and kingdoms and power-sources.

THE BIBLE IS THE SWORD

.

But in the fulness of time, this first beast was given a deadly wound by a sword. (See Revelation 13:14)

.

Yes, history reveals that this tyrannical Church received a deadly wound by, “the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God” (see Ephesians 6:17). This deadly wound was the result of the banished Bible now becoming mass-produced by the newly invented printing press.

.

And now that God’s Word was placed in the hands of the common people, it became evident to all, that this counterfeit Christian religious system was extremely unbiblical, even heretical in nature!

“DEADLY WOUND WAS HEALED”

Revelation 13:3, 12

And so, this first Beast went down into defeat, and became the beast that “was and is not”. (Revelation 17:8)

And yet, as Scripture reveals, its deadly wound was healed!

Yes, this religious system was to recover from its deadly wound.

.

And in the subsequent decades, it once again ascended out of the “bottomless pit.”

This website presents many truths which are well-accepted in today’s Christian community, such as the deity of Christ and His atonement upon the Cross.

However, there are other truths which are not so well-accepted.

FIRST FIND ORION & 7 STARS

The very first step in finding these many constellations, should be to find the two main constellations: Orion, and the 7 Stars (aka, The Big Dipper).

These two constellations represent Christ (Orion), and His Church (7 Stars).

And just as these are the easiest constellations to find, so too, the first place to begin studying the Bible is the Four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John).

.

These four books present Christ and His Church, when He walked the earth, just as Orion and the 7 Stars represent Christ and His Church, as seen up in the heavens.

.

Then, once you are comfortable finding these two constellations, you can begin to locate the next closest constellations, and so on.

Why not combine star-watching with prayer, as you walk? What a great way to draw closer to God!

THRICE-DAILY PRAYERS

**Now of course, the Bible commands us to, “pray without ceasing“. The Christian is to constantly talk with our Heavenly Father throughout the day.**

But the Bible also holds up the godly life of Daniel, who, when captive in Babylon, still set aside three times daily, in which he knelt for special prayer.

.

And furthermore the Bible also says… “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and He shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:17.

.

Even those who are bed-fast or in a prison cell can begin to imitate Daniel in this way. And if one is fortunate to be able to walk, then this thrice-daily prayer regimen can be combined with three walks daily and even nightly.

During the dark Ages, Satan carried out a long siege against the people of God, implementing torture, imprisonment, banishment, scarcity, famine, and death, as means of “wearing out the saints”. (Daniel 7:25)

Yes, now that we are in the era of the 2nd Beast of Revelation 13, the time of the False Prophet, it is Satan’s plan to totally conform the world, as well as God’s people into the image of the Beast (the world-system that is the very image of the Dragon, Satan).

And what is the image of Satan? Simple! Satan’s character is all about pride, anger, selfishness, impatience, jesting, irreverence, lust, greed, violence, revenge, and other similar qualities.

This is what his image is all about! It’s his likeness!

And of course, this website has spoken much about television, radio, Internet, and the various high-tech devices which are extremely effective in conforming the world into his image.

**Truly, “the god of this world” is doing very well for himself these days, in his mission to conform the world into his image.**

**Oh yes, there is a “form of godliness” in this world.**

But such false morality is merely an integral part of Satan’s character.

After all, Satan is no dummy (as many erroneously suppose)!

No, Satan fully understands that he must cloak his lies with much truth, to have any degree of success in deceiving the world’s inhabitants.

“THAT NO MAN MIGHT BUY OR SELL, SAVE HE THAT HAD THE MARK”

And so, one might imagine that Satan is satisfied with his 95% success rate in conforming the world into his antichrist image.

NONSENSE!

Satan will only be happy with a 100% success rate!

Unfortunately for him, there is a small remnant who have successfully resisted his brainwashing efforts up to this point in time.

Yes, a certain percent of Christians have managed to remain aloof from Satan’s indoctrination institutions, such as public schooling, television, secular radio and worldly-minded Internet.

But let’s not imagine for a moment that Satan is going to leave open any door of opportunity for those Christians to escape out of his hand!

**There are already laws in the works of government, which if enacted will close these doors of opportunity to side-step Satan’s “iron furnace” of totalitarian mind-control!**

For instance, well-meaning elected officials are now attempting to enact laws which will eventually over-regulate home-schooling to the point that parents will no longer be able to home-school their children. (Home-schooling is already nearly impossible in much of Europe).

“THE IMAGE OF THE BEAST”

Yes, Satan is busily restricting Christian’s freedoms on many fronts, in the various societies of the world in effort to form the image of the beast as spoken of in Revelation 13…“And (the False Prophet) deceives them that dwell on the earth…that they should make an image to the beast…that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:14, 15

.

Here is a prophecy which is already finding its fulfillment in today’s world. It is Satan’s effort to conform the world into the man-contrived false gospel, earthy philosophies and selfish behaviors of this world.

Oh no, nobody is being literally killed as of yet (however, many in eastern nations are persecuted, tortured, and killed).

But in a very real sense, only those Christians who are willing to die-to-self will escape out of the hand of “the god of this world”!

Only those who are willing to follow the Lamb to the very top of heavenly Sion will stand victorious over the beast, his mark, his name, the number of his name, and his image.

A BLESSING IN DISGUISE!

And in a sense this is very Good News!

After all, God’s Elect have been procrastinating for much too long from completing our commission to become fully crucified with Christ.

To a certain degree we’ve been drinking large draughts of the waters of this world’s cisterns for much too long!

.

And for this reason, God is finally allowing Satan to make life nearly impossible for any Christian who refuses to bow down and worship the great golden image of the King of Babylon, in hopes that we might finally become crucified with Christ in Satan’s fiery furnace now being heated up seven times hotter.

And so, the Valley of Decision comes around to each Christian, asking him or her the question…“Am I willing to make that entire surrender?

“Am I willing to completely die to self, that I may escape out of the hand of the god of this world?

“Will I forsake all for Christ’s sake?”

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Rev. 12:3

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not. But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars. The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

And of course, the world has its own philosophy concerning these maladies, and most self-help books fall in line with the status-quo in the psychological community as to the cause and maintenance of these “lifestyles”.

CHRISTIAN PSYCHOLOGY

Now, some of these books come from a Christian perspective to a limited extent.

Probably most of these “Christian” self-help books are merely cloaked in a thin veneer of religiosity, but with psychology/psychiatry actually being at the heart of the message.

“HAVING NO HOPE, AND WITHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD”

Now, one very common thread in most all of these books is to try to attribute the cause of these deviant lifestyles to genetic origin.

And the popular thinking today is that there is no cure for these deviant lifestyles, but only the hope for, “growing acceptance” by society.

And so, there is a huge effort to make these once shameful lifestyles into acceptable “alternative lifestyles”.

But the fact is, there is a great hope for those caught up in homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, etc.!

And it was revealed that mankind’s struggles are not with flesh and blood, but with spiritual powers and the forces of the darkness of this world, as it states in Ephesians 6:12

To say it concisely, we have an unseen foe working against us, the “god of this world”, Satan.

And his antichrist spirit, “now worketh in the children of disobedience”, as it says in Ephesians 2:2.

And the god of this world, Satan, is constantly bombarding people’s minds with overwhelming thoughts and lusts, so much so, that they begin to imagine themselves to be a so-called, “homosexual”!

But this is merely “the prince of the power of the air”, that spirit now working upon human minds to deceive and to enslave them in this, as well as countless other lusts!
