Come Out of Her, My People!

.

Part 52:

“How Do I Come Out Of Babylon?”

“…when He shall appear, we shall be like Him;

for we shall see Him as He is.

And every man that hath this hope in Him

purifieth himself, even as He is pure.”

CITY OF CONFUSION

.

Babylon was given its name during the building of that infamous Tower of Babylon, because God confused their speech…

.

Listen… “Therefore is the name of it called Babel;

because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth:

and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad

upon the face of all the earth.”

Genesis 11:9

COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE

.

**And so, the name, Babylon, actually means, “City of Confusion”.**

.

But God is now commanding His people to, “Come out of her, My people!”

.

But how could God be calling His people out of a city which was destroyed long ago?

.

Well, obviously, there must be a Babylon which exists in these last days. And God is commanding us to come out of that Babylon!

BABYLON, THE WORLD!

.

Yes, this world (including the worldly-minded churches) is the modern-day Babylon!

.

And the reader is encouraged to click on and begin reading this series of devotionals called “Come Out of Her, My People”, to gain a full understanding of just why God considers today’s churches to be spiritual Babylon.

.

So, let’s just explore these things to find out how we might escape from our own present-day Babylonian captivity…

“FLEE OUT OF THE MIDST OF BABYLON!”

Jeremiah 51:6

.

Now the logical question that one will ask is, “How do I come out of Babylon? After all, Babylon is a spiritual city, and not literal.”

.

Oh yes, God is literally calling His people out of the local congregations and denominations.

.

“PURIFY YOUR HEARTS YE DOUBLE-MINDED!”

James 4:8

But as already stated, we must come out of this spiritual harlot city in our hearts and minds!

.

So how is this accomplished?

.

Well, to put it concisely, Babylon is any doctrine that doesn’t square with the Bible alone and in its entirety.

.

And as a double proof, the life of Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life” we must live. (see John 14:6)

.

In other words, the life of Jesus is to be our life.

.

“PROPHESY NOT…RIGHT THINGS, SPEAK…SMOOTH THINGS, PROPHESY DECEITS”

Isaiah 30:10

Unfortunately, the church-world has brought in many false doctrines and false notions over the decades and centuries.

.

**And so, the house of God has become a veritable, “city of confusion”, as it declares in Isaiah 24:10.**

.

Thus, in addition to making a literal exodus out of the various apostate religious organizations, the Christian has been given the task of eliminating all the non-biblical jargon, false doctrines, prosperity gospels, and sensual worships, and the unspiritual rubbish which has cluttered “the way of holiness” for too long! (see Isaiah 35:8)

“FOOLISH TALK OR JESTING, WHICH ARE NOT CONVENIENT (NOT APPROPRIATE)”

Ephesians 5:4

As an example of all the non-biblical, worldly rubbish in the church-world, the Christian community has fully embraced comedy, both in the pulpit and in the pews.

.

But not only does Ephesians 5:2, 3 condemn “foolish talk and jesting”, but the lives of both Jesus and Paul (Paul being our mortal, earthly role-model) were 100% free of comedy, jesting, and mockery!

.

Oh yes, these two were filled daily with heavenly joy & peace! And yet, their words were totally serious in all gravity and sincerity!

.

“WREST…SCRIPTURES, UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION”

2Peter 3:16

But sadly, the Christian community attempts to wrestle with Scripture to make it seem as though comedy is condoned by God.

.

Or, they will simply say that Jesus probably joked around, even though Scripture doesn’t have even one single account of any such levity.

.

But the Bible condemns adding or subtracting from Scripture.

.

And we must never ever add anything to God’s Word, such as surmising that Jesus joked around, even though Scripture never recorded such clowning!

.

THOMAS BROOKS ON “FALSE TEACHERS”

.

But listen to that well-known Reformationist of yesteryear, Thomas Brooks… “They preach more to please the ear than to profit the heart…

False teachers handle holy things rather with wit and trifling, rather than with fear and reverence.

False teachers are soul-murderers.

They are like evil surgeons, that skin over the wound—but never heal it…

False teachers are hell’s greatest enrichers.”

.

Thomas Brooks had some pretty scathing words against those who joke in the pulpits, wouldn’t you agree?

“MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FOR A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE!”

Hosea 4:6

Well, comedy is just one example of how worldly-minded professors of Christianity have compromised the purity of the Gospel with Babylonian doctrines.

.

And so, O Stranger & Pilgrim, we have our work cut out for us! And this website has many articles which elaborate on this theme of purification. And armed with this clearer understanding of what Babylon is all about, our Christian duty is to purify our hearts in the uncompromised truth.

.

And as we fix our gaze Heavenward, our pathway of truth will be increasingly easier to discern! And the boundary-line between the truth and falsehood will become much more distinct.
