Is sodomy the greatest sin?

.

Well, from reading this following verse by Peter, one might get that very idea…

“And (God) turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes

condemned them with an overthrow,

making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;”

2nd Peter 2:6

.

Here is revealed that Sodom was used by God as an example of the destruction of those who should live ungodly.

“SODOM…SET FORTH FOR AN EXAMPLE…OF ETERNAL FIRE”

And what about this next verse…

“Even as Sodom and Gomorrha,

and the cities about them in like manner,

giving themselves over to fornication,

and going after strange flesh,

are set forth for an example,

suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”

Jude 1:7

.

This above verse is even more explicit than the previous verse from 2nd Peter 2:6, in condemning the very sin of, “fornication and going after strange flesh.” Jude 1:7

.

“RECEIVING…THAT RECOMPENCE OF THEIR ERROR WHICH WAS MEET (APPROPRIATE)”

So again, is the act of “men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet” the greatest of all sins? (see Romans 1:27)

.

Certainly, by the three verses just mentioned, one could build a case for that idea. And considering how God “rained fire and brimstone down from Heaven and destroyed them all” in Sodom, one might justifiably get extremely nervous about participating in that sin, or even some similar sin, such as bestiality, fornication, or adultery!

“MORE TOLERABLE FOR SODOM…IN THE DAY OF JUDGMENT”

But before we close our Bibles and say, “Amen and amen”, we need to take a moment to further examine what Scripture says considering the magnitude of various sins.

Listen to this…

“And whosoever shall not receive you,

nor hear your words,

when ye depart out of that house or city,

shake off the dust of your feet. 

Verily I say unto you,

It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha

in the day of judgment, than for that city.”

Matthew 10:14, 15

.

Oh, so here we have a greater sin than that which Sodom partook of! Rejecting the Word of God! After all, Jesus was speaking to His disciples when He made this above statement!

And let’s face it! There are many in today’s Christianity who profess to love God, and yet reject God’s infallible Word, at least in part.

“THEY…WALK IN LIES…THEY ARE…UNTO ME (GOD) AS SODOM”

Jeremiah 23:14

Oh no, the vast majority of the church-going throngs profess to love such verses as…“Love thy neighbor”, or, “Feed the poor”. (See Matthew 19:19, etc., and 1st Corinthians 13:3)

.

But listen to the Lord…

“I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing:

they commit adultery, and walk in lies:

they strengthen also the hands of evildoers,

that none doth return from his wickedness:

they are all of them unto me as Sodom,”

Here is revealed that God’s beloved city was the habitation of false prophets who…

“walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers,

that none doth return from his wickedness:

There are many false teachers in today’s Christendom who are leading the Christian community down, down, down into utter apostasy and ruin, even as Paul foretold in 2nd Timothy 4:3…“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;”

“THE CHURCH WILL BECOME…IRRELEVANT WHEN IT QUOTES LETTERS FROM 2,000 YEARS AGO”

(A statement by a false teacher in today’s apostate church-world)

For instance, one self-appointed spokesman for the Church made the following statement to a very well-known secular talk show host…

“The Church will become even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago (the Bible) as their best defense, when you have in front of you flesh and blood people (he was speaking concerning people desiring a same-gender relationship)”.

Now in this above statement, this so-called “Bible authority” revealed his covert disdain for God’s infallible Word, in attempt to promote same-gender marriage. Thus, he and those who agree with him are dedicated to bringing the Church down into even further apostasy and ruination as it embraces the sins of Sodom for the sake of popularity with society!

“(THE) UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE WRESTLE, AS THEY DO ALSO THE OTHER SCRIPTURES, UNTO THEIR OWN DESTRUCTION”

These men are masters at twisting Scripture until it comes out saying what they want it to say, thus showing their utter contempt for God’s infallible Word.

And capitalizing on the prevailing ignorance of Scripture in today’s church-world, these false shepherds are leading the churches down into “destruction and perdition!” 1st Timothy 6:9

.

But we have the divine Role-Model for all correct behavior in our Lord Jesus…“I am the way, and the truth and the life.” John 14:6

.

Yes, here is the divine safe-guard to what is and what is not true godly behavior. And those who would pervert the true Gospel in any way must stand before God and receive “that recompense of their error which was meet (deserved).” Romans 1:27

LEADING THE CHURCH INTO SIN IS A GREAT CRIME AGAINST HEAVEN!

And so, the answer to today’s question, “Is sodomy the greatest sin?”, is “absolutely not!”

.

But apostate Bible teachers who promote and encourage the Church to embrace false doctrines and world-loving behavior of any type are definitely guilty of committing a very great and heinous crime against Heaven!

Well, the Good News is this: it is still the day of Salvation! And all those who have been led astray by these false shepherds who manipulate Scripture to promote some sin, can still cry out for deliverance from these errors.

And instead, by the grace of God, they will, “walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1

Yes, they will begin to walk after the Ways of the Spirit, instead of walking according to the flesh.

And we have this wonderful promise…“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life…” Revelation 3:5

This page is about the Big Dipper, also called the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major ). However, the ancient pagan cultures did not see this constellation as God intended it to be seen. It is actually a headless woman in childbirth.  This is seen in springtime. It is seen in the northern skies.

But as the seasons progress, this travailing woman flips upside down, now appearing as a woman with upraised arms like eagle wings who is running (eventually flying, as shown in sketch on right) into the wilderness (westward). “HAVING A FORM OF GODLINESS”

Oh yes, there is no shortage of murderers, rapists, bank-robbers, etc…

But there are many others who are well-behaved, upstanding, hard-working, tax-paying, and moral people!

But what so many fail to consider is that the Bible refers to this world as “having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof”! 2nd Timothy 3:5

.

Yes, the god of this world has given his kingdom a thin veneer of goodness as the means of masking the true nature of evil.

After all, Satan is not trying to make life as horrible as possible. No, but rather, Satan is trying to create a world in which no one wants to return to Heaven’s rulership and authority.

“IF YE WERE OF THE WORLD, THE WORLD WOULD LOVE ITS OWN”

And so, it is no wonder that there are so many seemingly, “good people”, in this world of evil!

And if all this “form of godliness” is true, then the question must be asked, “What is the true source of all this supposed goodness?”

.

Yes, here is the very critical question which each and every Christian must fully answer, if they are ever going to overcome the world.

“IN ME…DWELLETH NO GOOD THING!”

And perhaps the very first place to begin, in searching for the answer to this perplexing question is found in Romans 7:18…“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:”

So even the great Apostle, Paul, confessed that, without God’s Holy Spirit, he was as wholly unrighteous as everyone else is!

.

“NONE THAT DOETH GOOD, NO NOT ONE!”

And so, Paul understood that the whole world was held in bondage to sin and Satan…“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

they are together become unprofitable;

there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Their throat is an open sepulchre;

with their tongues they have used deceit;

the poison of asps is under their lips:

Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:

Their feet are swift to shed blood:

Destruction and misery are in their ways:

And the way of peace have they not known:

There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

“SATAN…TRANSFORMS…INTO AN ANGEL OF LIGHT”

So then, if this is true, and the world is as evil as this above passage says, then what is the source of all this apparent goodness and love in the world?

Listen to Ezekiel 33:31…“for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.”

Now this above passage is concerning God’s professed people. And yet it reveals the great deceptive hypocrisy of the human heart of all humans.

“THE HEART IS DECEITFUL ABOVE ALL THINGS!”

Now listen to this next verse from Jeremiah 17:9…“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?”

.

So here we have it! The human heart is “desperately wicked”, and yet is, “deceitful above all things: who can know it?”

.

Thus we have the answer to our perplexing question: the love and humanitarian goodness of this world is, for the most part, the product of Satan’s deceptive spirit, “that spirit which now works in the children of disobedience” Ephesians 2:2

And so, Satan deceives the world into believing that they do not need God because they have, “a form of godliness”.

In other words, society has a crude saying, “It’s as phony as a 3-dollar bill!”

“What!?”, most people will exclaim, “Are you trying to tell me that all the love and humanitarian goodness in society is the product of Satan!?”

.

Well, that’s what the Bible says…“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.” 1st John 5:19

.

Yes, the WHOLE world lieth in wickedness, not just some!

Just consider the utter hypocrisy so often witnessed in today’s politics, as the leaders of the land attempt to show much mercy to one group, while at the same time, trampling on the rights and livelihood of another group, all in the name of so-called, “Political Correctness” or “equity”!

For example, just look at all today’s hand-wringing over some endangered species, or of some group of oppressed children, while at the same time cheering on the wholesale slaughter of millions of innocent children-in-the-womb, calling them “just a hunk of flesh”!

All such pretentious “tender mercies” are condemned by God, as He warns us against these erring, “do-gooders”…“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2nd Timothy 3:5

Understanding “the lovingkindness of the LORD.”

Psalm 107:43

Now, having said all this, it must also be mentioned that God does intervene in the affairs of mankind on various levels, from kings and kingdoms on down to individuals.

Even Jesus proclaimed…

“…your Father which is in Heaven…

maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good,

and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

Matthew 5:45

And in light of this above revelation concerning the mercy of God even to the unsaved, the following verse should also be considered…

“Whoso is wise, and will observe these things,

even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.”

Psalm 107:43

.

Yes, the wise observer should prayerfully consider that God often works, “behind the scenes”, in the affairs of humankind to send showers of His Mercy upon people, even upon nations!

“THREE-DOLLAR BILL LOVE”

And though it seems, from all outward appearances, as if there exists some level of love apart from God, most all of it is merely the product of the antichrist spirit in the world!

Therefore, without God’s indwelling Spirit, all the counterfeit love and compassion of this world is destined to fail! Because very soon, God’s people will witness just how deceived we really were! And “the day will declare it!” (1st Corinthians 3:13)

.

Because on that day, the love of this world will be seen for what it truly is: hate, deceitful hate, masked by a thin veneer of “3-dollar-bill” love!

.

And so, let’s not wait until that dreadful day to find out the truth; but let’s right now become “wise as serpents, and harmless as doves”, as we begin our heavenward sojourn out of this deceptively evil world! (see Matthew 10:16)

Well, in spite of this very bad news, there is some really Good News!

Yes, there is a way of escape from this totally evil condition in this entirely wicked world we live in!

Yes, the One who was slaughtered by all of us so-called “do-gooder” humans, has allowed His own sacrifice on that cruel Cross of Calvary, to become the payment for our sins and deliverance from our hypocrisies!

And He has opened up a fountain of grace, in which, if a man, woman, or child drinks freely from, that soul can become filled with true love and true goodness!

And God is the only source of true love!

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Revelation 12:3

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.

.

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

THE TWO BEASTS

Now, while Christians are confidently assuming that they will be snatched out of the world prior to the appearing of the two beasts of Revelation 13 on the world-stage, during the coming crisis, the fact is, those two beasts have been in the world for a very long time.

“Little children, it is the last time:

and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come,

EVEN NOW are there many antichrists;

whereby we know that it is the last time.”

Yes, the two antichrist beasts have been around a very long time! And they are in reality, the two forms of Satan’s attack on Christians and upon the unsaved multitudes!

MULTIFACETED BEAST

But what modern-day theologians have forgotten is that the Bible uses, “beasts” to represent world-powers.

For instance, just a quick reading of Revelation 17:8-12 reveals that the antichrist beast is comprised of “kings and kingdoms”.

And while the 1st antichrist beast was prevalent during the Dark Ages, the 2nd beast represents what we’re going through right now! Oh yes, the 1st beast, though mortally wounded by the newly-invented printing-press, churning out Bibles during those years, still lives on, though now greatly weakened.

SATAN NORMALIZES SIN

.

Yes, Satan is now coming with great force, as the False Prophet, the 2nd beast of Revelation 13, to cause the world to worship and re-powering the wounded, but recuperating, 1st beast.

And armed with his new high-tech arsenal, this invisible world ruler can inscribe his fatal mark deeply upon the hearts of the unsuspecting multitudes.

.

And, by constantly repeating the same narrative, Satan can blunt and even deaden the conscience, eventually normalizing any sin he wishes to promote throughout society.

having their conscience seared with a hot iron;”

Here is foretold of the day in which Satan will sear men’s consciences with a “hot iron” (1st Timothy 4:1). This hot iron is actually Satan’s branding iron in which he engraves his mark upon the hearts of all who remain under his authority.

But Satan is not about to allow this above passage from Proverbs 7:2, 3 to find its fulfillment…

Well, if there is any Good News, it is only found in the escape route provided for any man, woman, or child who seeks to “flee from the wrath to come.” Matthew 3:7 & Luke 3:7

Yes, this escape route is spoken of by Isaiah…“And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness;” Isaiah 35:8

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Well, if a person goes out at night, beginning in April (earlier in southern-most latitudes, and later in northern-most), in the pre-dawn hour, they just might locate the constellation commonly referred to as the Sagittarius Constellation . It is located in the southern sky. (Each night it appears a little earlier, slowly inching westward, through the summer, until it finally disappears below the western horizon in November.)

.

At first, it simply appears as two twin birds flying westward. But if you look once again, it just might appear as a long box-like figure, with one star on the right, as you face it, and two stars on the left. The box, of course would be the Ark, and the stars on either side would represent angels, which are sometimes referred to as stars in the Bible (for instance, “the seven stars are the angels…” Revelation 1:20). To the right is a star-chart from Wikipedia, in which the editor of this site has sketched in this Sagittarius Constellation, to show how God created it to appear.

Well, the fact is, the major universities mostly began as Christian colleges.

But gradually over time, secularism crept in and took over, until now there remains little, if anything of their former Christian roots!

THE SCHOOLS OF BABYLON

But today’s devotional would love to shine its spotlight on the very best school in the nation, yea in all the world!

And just what school is that?

Dartmouth? Princeton? Yale? Harvard?

Oh yes, these were once great schools, having their roots deep into the Bible! But now, sadly, they are nothing more than schools of Babylon: that is, schools of this confused, faithless, antichrist world-system!

THE GREATEST SCHOOL: BECOMING AN EXAMPLE!

So just what is the finest school?

.

Well, the fact is, the absolute greatest school in all the world is when a parent (or sibling) sits down with the children, and opens the Bible together and instills in them, by example, the love for reading the best Book!

Yes, if only Christian parents would eliminate the high-tech audio/video secular devices, and merely sit and read together each day from the Book of all books, the Bible!

“…TO MAKE OURSELVES AN EXAMPLE UNTO YOU TO FOLLOW US…”

2nd Thessalonians 3:9

And let’s face it! If the children see the parents or siblings loving to read the Bible, they too might “catch the Spirit”, so to speak, and gain their own love for that soul-saving word-of-life gift from Heaven!

Yes, whatever the parents love will almost unfailingly “rub off” on the children!

.

And there is no greater home-school than for the entire family to sit down together, armed with their own Bibles and simply read them together, or individually.

“A LIVING SACRIFICE!”

Of course, the great problem with all this is, such a selfless Christlike endeavor requires laying one’s life down upon the altar, even as is written…

“I beseech you therefore, brethren,

by the mercies of God,

that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,

holy, acceptable unto God,

which is your reasonable service.  

And be not conformed to this world:

but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable,

and perfect, will of God.”

Yes, this above passage is the key to victorious Christianity!

“COME OUT OF HER MY PEOPLE!”

Oh yes, it is much more appealing to our flesh to simply run and hide in our own little comfortable place, and leave the children to the television or to public schooling.

But God is now calling His people to come out of Babylon! And a great part of that spiritual exodus is to hopefully bring the children out along with us, on that upward, heavenward pathway!

.

And if one spouse, along with the children, have already become loyal Babylonians, then perhaps all the Christian can do is to set the best example possible, while giving his or her own self unto prayer…“For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto prayer.” Psalm 109:4

.

Yes, to silently engage in unceasing prayer and the unrelenting search after the “exceeding great and precious promises” which are sprinkled throughout the Bible, can indeed be a powerful witness to all those in the family circle!

BABYLON, THE WORLD!

Yes, this world (including the worldly-minded churches) is the modern-day Babylon!

So, let’s just explore these things to find out how we might escape from our own present-day Babylonian captivity…

Now the logical question that one will ask is, “How do I come out of Babylon? After all, Babylon is a spiritual city, and not literal.”

Oh yes, God is literally calling His people out of the local congregations and denominations.

But as already stated, we must come out of this spiritual harlot city in our hearts and minds!

So how is this accomplished?

Well, to put it concisely, Babylon is any doctrine that doesn’t square with the Bible alone and in its entirety.

And as a double proof, the life of Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life” we must live. (see John 14:6) 

.

In other words, the life of Jesus is to be our life.

And so, the house of God has become a veritable, “city of confusion”, as it declares in Isaiah 24:10.

Thus, in addition to making a literal exodus out of the various apostate religious organizations, the Christian has been given the task of eliminating all the non-biblical jargon, false doctrines, prosperity gospels, and sensual worships, and the unspiritual rubbish which has cluttered “the way of holiness” for too long! (see Isaiah 35:8)

As an example of all the non-biblical, worldly rubbish in the church-world, the Christian community has fully embraced comedy, both in the pulpit and in the pews.

But not only does Ephesians 5:2, 3 condemn “foolish talk and jesting”, but the lives of both Jesus and Paul (Paul being our mortal, earthly role-model) were 100% free of comedy, jesting, and mockery!

.

Oh yes, these two were filled daily with heavenly joy & peace! And yet, their words were totally serious in all gravity and sincerity!

But sadly, the Christian community attempts to wrestle with Scripture to make it seem as though comedy is condoned by God.

Or, they will simply say that Jesus probably joked around, even though Scripture doesn’t have even one single account of any such levity.

But the Bible condemns adding or subtracting from Scripture.

And we must never ever add anything to God’s Word, such as surmising that Jesus joked around, even though Scripture never recorded such clowning!

But listen to that well-known Reformationist of yesteryear, Thomas Brooks… “They preach more to please the ear than to profit the heart…

False teachers handle holy things rather with wit and trifling, rather than with fear and reverence.

False teachers are soul-murderers.

They are like evil surgeons, that skin over the wound—but never heal it…

False teachers are hell’s greatest enrichers.”

Well, comedy is just one example of how worldly-minded professors of Christianity have compromised the purity of the Gospel with Babylonian doctrines.

And so, O Stranger & Pilgrim, we have our work cut out for us! And this website has many articles which elaborate on this theme of purification. And armed with this clearer understanding of what Babylon is all about, our Christian duty is to purify our hearts in the uncompromised truth.

And as we fix our gaze Heavenward, our pathway of truth will be increasingly easier to discern! And the boundary-line between the truth and falsehood will become much more distinct.

Our society loves its soap operas!

.

Is that a fair statement?

.

And each day brings a brand new episode in the lives of those imaginary characters.

.

And no doubt, many or perhaps most regular viewers are happily addicted to their favorite soap opera.

LUCIFER, “THE GOD OF THIS WORLD”

2nd Corinthians 4:4

Of course, Christians understand that this world is ruled over by, “the god of this world”, Satan, who once walked the hallowed halls of Heaven, prior to his rebellion.

But now this powerful fallen angel has been cast down to this earth along with his fellow rebels, becoming the unseen dominate force behind all the misery and evil which enshrouds this selfish world.

.

And so, these unseen rulers have made it their sole purpose to deceive and destroy each and every human who has ever lived on this fallen planet!

“AS THE WORLD (of politics) TURNS”

Now, there is another soap opera of sorts, which has been airing each and every day: it’s called “the world of politics.”

.

Yes, if the reader hasn’t noticed, this has become a daily drama, which is every bit as addictive as television soap operas. Maybe even more so, since it deals with actual real-life occurrences!

.

Every day is a fresh new episode in which the two major political factions carry on their emotional dealings (and double-dealings) with one-another.

POLITICAL FOOTBALL GAME?

.

Oh yes, perhaps rather than a soap opera, you might call today’s politics a ‘war’ or even ‘a political football game’!

.

But whatever analogy one uses to describe this daily drama, it nevertheless is what one political commentator described as, “The greatest show on earth: two scorpions in a…glass!”

.

Yes, there’s nothing like watching two opposing groups battling against each other!

.

“TAKE HEED…LEST…YOUR HEARTS BE OVERCHARGED WITH…THE CARES OF THIS LIFE…”

But for those who understand that this present world is ruled over by Lucifer, now called “Satan” and, “the god of this world”, this daily drama is just one more way to misdirect people away from the true focus of life: the Salvation of the soul!

.

In other words, the one thing that Satan cannot tolerate is to see people filling their hearts with the Bible knowledge of Jesus Christ.

.

And so, Satan has created this current-day world to become a cornucopia of pleasures and pursuits which distract and deter this world’s inhabitants away from the greatest pursuit in the universe: the Salvation of their own soul!

SATAN, THE GREAT PUPPET-MASTER

.

So we should not be ignorant of Satan’s devices. And this relatively new voyeur-sport of politics is not happening by whim-or-caprice.

.                                                                                                                                                                                  

No, but rather, “the god of this world” is carefully orchestrating the daily events to keep society fixated on this ongoing daily melodrama.

.

And Satan plays each side against the other, much like the puppet-master that he is! One week he gives a bump to one side, and the next week he bumps the other side, just to keep all sides cheering for their “team”!

.

And let’s face it, soap operas were not really possible until this current-day high-tech era in which one can simply turn on the radio or television and tune in to see what new development that each passing day brings.

Oh yes, it appears that Satan is orchestrating events, to usher in the last and final conflict.

And so, even though the day-to-day political battles are designed to captivate Christians and non-Christians alike, he ultimately is bringing us into the great day of Armageddon, in which the destiny of each and every living soul will be tested and decided.

After all, isn’t our great purpose in life to become filled with love of Christ?

THE REVELATION 12 WOMAN FLEES

WOMAN ROTATES THROUGH THE SEASONS…

.

This page is about the Big Dipper, also called the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major ). However, the ancient pagan cultures did not see this constellation as God intended it to be seen. It is actually a headless woman in childbirth.  This is seen in springtime. It is seen in the northern skies. 

.

But as the seasons progress, this travailing woman flips upside down, now appearing as a woman with upraised arms like eagle wings who is running (eventually flying, as shown in sketch on right) into the wilderness (westward). The single star representing her birth-child (Christ) now becomes her head (“Christ is the head of the church.” Ephesians 5:23

.

The 7 Stars (Big Dipper) is easy to see with its very bright 7 stars. But the Revelation 12 Woman (Ursa Major) must be seen on a dark starry night, away from city lights.
