In the book Pilgrim’s Progress, John Bunyan speaks of an ancient town called Vanity Fair.

.

This town was an allegorical town; a symbolic picture of the attractions of this sinful world.

.

The hero of this story was named Christian.

.

Listen to a quick synopsis by “Cliff Notes”… “It is an ancient town named Vanity Fair, where, all year round, such merchandise is bought and sold “as houses, lands, trades, places, honors, preferments, titles, countries, kingdoms, lusts, pleasures, and delights of all sorts, etc…”

FALSE PROPHET EXISTED LONG AGO

Reading this allegorical tale about this town of Vanity Fair, it becomes clear that Satan and his “workers of iniquity” have always been hard at work, making his kingdom attractive to the lost souls in this fallen, sin-loving world.

.

Vanity Fair was heavily laden with attractions and oddities, and amusements and attainments.

.

It even had counterfeit Christian gospels within its gates.

.

VANITY FAIR TODAY

Yes, Vanity Fair still exists today!

.

But today, Satan has really turned the lights on, so to speak!

.

Vanity Fair has become electrified.

.

This Mardi Gras: this gigantic Carnival called The World, is getting a grand make-over, as his Satanic Majesty (“the god of this world“) prepares for the great showdown of that Last Day.

DRESSING UP FOR FINAL SHOWDOWN

Satan is just now putting up lights, and colored banners, firing up his high-tech devices, and fixing up his slums, and numerous other endeavors, all in effort to make this world as attractive and alluring like it never has been before!

.

And he has amassed great weapons of war to assault anyone who dares trumpet, “the truth of God”. Romans 15:8

.

And with high-tech abilities, Satan can now make life impossible for Christians, once he pulls off his mask, declaring open-season on True-Worshippers!

STRANGERS & PILGRIMS IN THIS WORLD

Yes, God has called to anyone who is willing to leave this Vanity Fair world, to come and follow Jesus, as He leads us upward to a new and different kingdom: the Kingdom of Heaven.

.

This heavenly Kingdom operates under an entirely different set of principles.

.

Oh yes, we must still work and live and eat and drink down here.

.

But spiritually, we will be walking up a heavenly pathway out of this world. 

.

And yes, by God’s supernatural and infinite power, all this is accomplished.

.

PILGRIM, GO HIGHER!

But the truth is, the higher the pilgrim climbs, the greater will be the awareness of just how deceived we’ve been in this earthly kingdom of lies and deceptions!

Yes, we will realize how all the tinsel and glitter of this present world was only just a fraud, merely a hoax, designed to deceive us into believing that this Vanity Fair world had something of value to offer us! But truth-be-told, it was only a deception to ensnare and entangle our hearts and lives in Satan’s web of lies and sin!

.

But the wonderful truth is, the closer we get to that heavenly city, the more wonderful that city does appear to us!

.

And the higher we climb, the greater will be our peace and rest and hope in an all-merciful God!

GOSPEL INSCRIBED ON THE MOON

The Bible states… “It (God’s Covenant) shall be established for ever as the Moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven (sky). Selah.” Psalm 89:37

.

God’s Covenant (The Gospel) has been inscribed in the sky. In the night sky, predominantly. It has been established, “as the Moon, and as a faithful witness…”.

.

That there would be, “signs in the Sun… moon, and…stars” (Luke 21:25) just before the end, was a promise made by God.

.

But we didn’t know exactly what those signs would be (although many thought they knew).

.

Nor did we realize that these signs would be pointing us to present Bible truths!

3RD FACE: “THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

.

Please tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose. (Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

.

Do you see an angry look? His right eye-brow is raised as if he is judging.

.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn. Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad shock and awe; this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn. As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below. He is very moral, you see.
