That great Apostle, Paul, was a very proud person, by nature!

.

Yes, prior to his conversion, Paul worked harder than every other person, that he might achieve greatness above all others in his nation!

CHIEF OF SINNERS!

.

And yet, when the light of Heaven shone down on Paul, he suddenly realized just what a great sinner he truly was!

.

As a matter of fact, Paul came to discover that, “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1st Timothy 1:15

.

Yes, this hard-hearted Pharisee-turned-Apostle now realized that his heart was, in reality, merely a cesspool of sin! And Paul knew that only the grace of God could clean up that cesspool and make it pure and holy, so it might become a fit house for the indwelling of Christ!

THIS, OUR CONDITION TOO!

.

But this above statement by Paul was a testimony to us all!

.

Paul said… “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,”

.

In other words, each and every one of us can likewise make the same judgment about our own self: I too am the chief of sinners!

.

I too am desperately wicked and in need of the purifying work of Christ upon the cesspool of my own heart!

.

.

.

.

.

BUT DUNG!

.

But Paul knew another painful truth. And this truth is revealed in today’s signature verse…“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” Philippians 3:8

.

Here again is a similar statement that Paul makes concerning his past life: that all of his past worldly glories, and all of his former earthly accolades were, “but dung!” In other words, Paul realized that all of his former good works and his noble birthright were but, “human feces, floating on the cesspool of his formerly unconverted heart!”

.

This is because Paul came to understand that the motives of the human heart are so deceitfully wicked, that any supposed “good work” is mingled with our corrupt and selfish motives!

“THE HEART IS DESPERATELY WICKED!”

Jeremiah 17:9

.

Well, such a statement as this almost takes one’s breath away, doesn’t it? And yet, this is the condition of my heart, prior to my conversion! And this is the condition of the entire human race, prior to their conversion, should they have one!

.

The Apostle John reveals the condition of the entire world…“the whole world lies in wickedness.” 1st John 5:19,

“NONE RIGHTEOUS, NO NOT ONE!”

.

Yes, John’s testimony about this wicked world agrees with the rest of the Bible…“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Romans 3:10-18

.

Now this above assessment from Romans is not just about the abject evildoers of this world! No, this speaks of all of us! Whether I am the most well-respected and moral humanitarian, this applies to me too! “There is none that doeth good, no, not one!”

THE UNSAVED ARE INCAPABLE OF DOING GOOD

.

But there are many who look to their supposed good works, such as humanitarian efforts, and secretly pat themselves on the back. But the Bible reveals,“…the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” Proverbs 12:10

.

The tender mercies of this wicked world are cruel? How could that be!?!

.

You see, any unsaved person who attempts to do good, automatically joins the deceptive ranks of Satan, as his co-deceivers, as he merely sugar-coats this, the Devil’s world with a, “form of godliness, but denying the power thereof” (2nd Timothy 3:5). In other words, unbelievers who engage in humanitarian good works only make this dark and evil kingdom of Satan appear to have some semblance of goodness and light. Hence, this wicked world becomes even more deceptive and wicked!

THE HUMAN CONDITION: AN OPEN SEWER!

.

Well, let’s stop for a moment and consider just what implications this has, concerning our past glories and accolades.

.

Well if this is true, then I really don’t have anything to boast about, do I? My glamorous career? Just dung floating on the cesspool of my heart! My nicely appointed home? Just dung! My fashionable car? But dung! My big fat bank account? But dung! My admirable work ethics? But dung! My former good looks? But dung! My charismatic personality? Dung! My incredible intellect? Dung! My wonderful sense of humor? Dung! My commendable history of public service? Dung, dung, dung!!!

.

Yes, All these things (and all my other accolades!) are merely dung floating upon the cesspool of my heart!

.

GOOD NEWS!

.

Well, the very Good News is just this! The door of mercy is still just barely open! And it is open just wide enough for you and for myself to squeeze through! And considering the lateness of the hour, it is no time to be loitering on the street-corner of earthly-desires! Let’s all get into the ark of Salvation, before the door forever closes!

.

And let’s all begin to fully devote ourselves to the work of purifying our heart! Let’s flush out all the filth and scrub off all the worldly graffiti inscribed upon the walls of the Most Holy Place of our heart!

.

And let’s not despair because of the enormity of this task at hand! God promises to be right there alongside of us in the cleansing of our heart sanctuary!

.

Listen… “For it is God which works in you, both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13

.

And so, my dear darling soul, with such a promise as this, how can we ever fail?

NARROW GATE STARS LOCATION

.

.

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter. Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter being the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story). Orion , the Dragon, and the Glorious White Horse are beginning to descend into the western horizon (sketch to right is Winter Constellations descending into western horizon. This can actually be seen as early as December, in the pre-dawn hours).

.

And at this point it is apparent that the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation  is veering toward the two bright stars, known as Castor and Pollux (sketch to below left). But the Wide Gate Stars are composed of the two brightest stars of the Auriga Constellation, known as the star, Capella, and the star, Menkalinan. The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.

.

This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark). While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions. It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

The sketch to left shows, the two doors are each composed of two bright stars. The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle. The two stars that comprise the ‘Wide Gate’ Stars are the two brightest stars of the wave of water that comes out of the Dragon Constellation’s mouth (for explanation of “Wave of Water”, just click here). The stars that make up the ‘Narrow Gate’ are about half the width of the Wide Gate (see sketch to right).

VALLEY OF DECISION NOW APPEARING!

Well, the fact is, the Valley of Decision is up in the night-sky! Yes, there is a constellation group which is called the Valley of Decision Constellation Group. And it first appears in Summer, and comes out each night well into Fall. And it really should make us nervous. Because God is now revealing the Signs Of Heaven promised in Luke 21:25.

.

Listen… “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring…And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:25, 28

.

And so, it says that… “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”

CHOOSE THIS DAY…

As we stand in the Valley of Decision, the question comes to each of us…“How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him. 1st Kings 18:21

Now such a simple question should be very easy to answer, “Of course Lord, I will follow You!”

“DECEIVING, IF POSSIBLE, THE VERY ELECT!”

.

Unfortunately, the “god of this world”, Satan, has beclouded the issue, making “Baal worship” so close to the real thing, that he might, “deceive if possible, even the elect”.

.

And because the Church has so greatly compromised the truth with worldly ways and earthly attractions, God, many decades ago, finally allowed God’s people to be taken captive in spiritual Babylon.

.

And so, because of our many compromises with the world, the churches became a mere extension of this fallen world, “Babylon the Great!” Because, when Christianity is mingled with worldliness, the result is a false gospel.

DISCERNING THE SPIRITS

.

So just how do we discern between truth and error? How are we to choose the true God? How are we to know the difference between the true God and the counterfeit?

.

Let’s just think this through for a moment. Let’s ask ourselves the question, “How can I know the difference between those who are truly led by the Holy Spirit, and those who are led by ‘another spirit'”?

.

HOLINESS: HALLMARK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

.

Well, it’s not as hard as one might imagine. After all, if a person is truly led by the Holy Spirit, then it would only make sense that such a Spirit-filled person would be holy. After all, isn’t holiness what the Holy Spirit is all about? That is why He is called the HOLY Spirit!

.

And so, if a man, woman, or child is indwelt by the true Holy Spirit, then that individual will have the desire to be holy, and will gravitate toward holiness.

.

He or she will now be filled with the joy of Heaven to be indwelt with the heavenly qualities of goodness and peace and rest unto the soul.

EXCEEDING ABUNDANTLY MORE!

.

Those who are true followers of Christ will desire to, “walk even as He (Christ) walked.” 1st John 2:6 And they will be attempting to become pure, “even as He (Christ) is pure.” 1st John 3:3. And the Bible reveals that we can reach a far higher level of holiness than we now think possible…

.

Listen…“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the Power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20

.

Yes, as this above verse reveals, Christians have been deceived into thinking that we must continue to live in a semi-diseased spiritual condition, when in truth, God is able to give us far more spiritual victory than we now realize!

.

But just look at the life of John. Or look at the life of Paul! Those two men are examples of what we may become!

JESTERS IN THE PULPIT

.

But so many in today’s pulpits have become filled with less than holiness. Joking and jesting has set a less-than-holy tone in today’s churches. Yes, there is a relaxed spirit pervading today’s churches, in which the leaders are keeping their audience entertained, rather than encouraging them to, “be ye holy, even as I am holy”…

.

Listen…“Be ye therefore followers of God…But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, NOR FOOLISH TALK, NOR JESTING (joking), which are not convenient (not proper): but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” Ephesians 5:1-5

.

Here we see that foolish talk and jesting is condemned, and all who defiantly engage in such unwholesome behavior have no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God!

JESUS CONDEMNED THE WORLD

Why do you think that God’s professed people put Jesus on the Cross? It was because Jesus wanted no part of the worldly church of that day! Jesus was holy! He was reverent. Nor was there even one spot of worldliness in Him. And because His life and words condemned this world, they put Him on the Cross…

Listen as Jesus answered His worldly-minded brothers… “The world cannot hate you; but Me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.” John 7:7

SEPARATE FROM THE VILE

The Bible repeatedly warns us against mingling the things of the world with the purity of the Gospel…

Listen to God’s warning to Jeremiah…“Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before Me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as My mouth: let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.” Jeremiah 15:19

.

Here God is warning Jeremiah to remove all worldliness from his heart and life. But God is also warning Jeremiah to not go back into the “congregation of evildoers” (Psalm 26:5), but let anyone who will, come to him, Jeremiah.

COMPROMISE EXISTS TODAY, TOO!

.

The exact same situation exists today, as in Jeremiah’s day! The Christian community for the most part, has embraced much of today’s secular culture.

.

The music has become greatly sensualized. The prosperity-driven ideologies have taken hold of both liberal as well as conservative churches. The pulpits have been largely given over to comedy and giddiness. Sensual dress, and fashionable (“cool” or “hip”) behavior and music are now the order of the day in church services and in the everyday lives of many church-goers!

.

And just because they mingle much Bible into their worship, only proves that their deception, “will deceive, if possible, even the elect!” Matthew 24:24

.

DISCERN BETWEEN BELIEVERS & PRETENDERS

.

Well, the big point to today’s devotion is to place great emphasis on the word “Holy”, as it pertains to the third personage of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit. 

.

And so, all those who are truly indwelt by the Holy Spirit will constantly gravitate toward the qualities of holiness: a whole-hearted sobriety, gravity, reverence, purity, patience, kindness, warm agape love, temperance, joy, peace, etc….

.

And so, as the Christian begins to gain an awareness of the difference between the “Spirit of truth”, and the “spirit of error”, it becomes increasingly easier to “discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth Him not.” Malachi 3:18

VALLEY OF DECISION CONSTELLATION GROUP…

.

Look eastward in the early summer through fall. Find the Cassiopeia Constellation. Cassiopeia is the Mount of Blessing. In the sketch, it is the farthest mountain to the left. In the sky, it is the northern-most of these three mountains when facing eastward. It resembles a pyramid. Then find the next pyramid to its right (south). Then go a little further south to the next third pyramid. The third snow-cap is the Destroying Mountain Constellation. These three pyramids are the snow-capped portion of these three mountains in this sketch. (of course, you won’t see the snow-caps in the sky. They are just an embellishment in this sketch to present a concept-EDITOR).

Do you know who the very first gossip was?

.

Well, the very first instance of gossiping occurred in the Garden of Eden, when that wily old serpent, Satan, whispered into Eve’s ear… “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof (of the forbidden fruit), then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4, 5

.

Yes, the Devil was already spreading vicious accusations about the Lord, right there in the Garden!

And of course, Eve with eager ears, listened to that vicious gossip, and acted upon it!

And the rest is history!

Our signature verse for today is from Isaiah… “Is not this the fast that I (the Lord) have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness…WHEN THOU SEEST THE NAKED, THAT THOU COVER HIM…? Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.” Isaiah 58:6-8

Now from a quick reading, it would seem that we in this opulent cornucopia culture don’t have to worry about covering the naked. Everybody pretty much has at least one change of clothing. And for the most part, the only ones who are truly naked in this society are voluntarily that way. Oh yes, there may be a few exceptions. But lack of clothing is almost unheard of in this industrial-based society. Often, clothes are almost given away in the “Bargain-Bin” at many thrift shops!

“COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL”

1st Corinthians 2:13

But the Bible is a spiritual book. Listen… “I (the Lord) will open My mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:” Psalm 78:2

The Bible presents many physical objects to teach us spiritual lessons. And this verse from Isaiah (“When you see the naked, that you cover him”) can easily be interpreted spiritually.

In other words, there are many who are spiritually naked.

THE GOSSIP-GRAPEVINE

For example, let’s say that Deacon Jones has the smell of whiskey on his breath, every once in a while. And it would be very tempting to pass this embarrassing tidbit of gossip along the church gossip-grapevine… 

“Did you know that Deacon Jones smelled like whiskey the other day?”

.

Now, many church gossips justify themselves by thinking that they are doing a public service by whispering about the sins of others.

.

But wouldn’t you agree that by spreading such gossip is a form of exposing the nakedness of others…

.

REVELATION 16:15: SPIRITUAL NAKEDNESS

.

Listen… “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.” Revelation 16:15

.

Now this above verse only confirms that we are on the right track concerning spiritual nakedness. The garments spoken of here are the garments of Salvation. And when the Lord comes as a thief, all those who have not been watching will be exposed for their spiritual nakedness. And most likely, all those who are caught without their garments are the very ones who previously enjoyed exposing the sins of others, in the form of vicious gossip!

ALL ARE GUILTY BEFORE GOD!

Now most every one of us has been guilty of this sin of criticizing and gossiping about another soul, behind his or her back! But make no mistake, O Pilgrim! All such vicious back-stabbing gossip will bring the wrath of God down upon our own heads…

Listen…“He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.” Proverbs 10:18

.

This verse is essentially saying that those who regularly slander and gossip about others are yet unsaved! Yes, according to the Bible, being a fool is the same thing as being unsaved!

.

And those who are true children of God will tremble in fear whenever they fall into this sin! Yes, all true children of God know how painful are God’s chastisements!

.

THE DAY OF THE LORD

.

Now listen to these verses from Isaiah concerning the Day of the Lord…“The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the LORD of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low:” Isaiah 2:11, 12

Yes, the Day of the Lord will be upon the proud, especially proud scorners!

BACK-STABBING GOSSIP

.

Criticizing others is borne of the spirit of pride. And gossiping privately is a form of cowardice. Instead of back-stabbing another, it would be far better to go to that erring individual and gently scold him (or her) for their sin.

Listen… “Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Proverbs 27:5, 6

THE GOOD NEWS!

Well the Good News is that it is still the Day of Salvation! And you and I can beg God, right this minute, to purge us from this most pernicious and damning sin!

When God finally and fully removes this sin of criticizing and gossiping, the child of God will feel such a joy and freedom! And there will be a restoration of God’s Free Spirit, causing us to sing, “songs of deliverance!” (Psalm 32:7)

THE FIVE FOOLISH VIRGINS STARS

.

.

A new constellation has been revealed, as of about May 29th, 2014. This constellation appears as a serpent (snake). Its body is comprised of stars from the Bootes Constellation, and its jaws are made of the four stars which Babylonians saw as the head of Draco, the Dragon. It also has a small single star for an eye.

.

Now in this constellation is a group of five stars, which will be called “The Five Foolish Virgins Stars”. These are located on the opposite side of the Glorious Crown of 12 Stars (AKA Corona Borealis), from the Five Wise Virgins Stars. But one big difference between the two is, that The Five Wise are curved around the Glorious Crown, while the Five Foolish are curved away from it!

Now another incredible aspect to all this is that this snake/serpent is winding its way around the backside of this Crown. And it is traveling in a direction away from the Crown! And one really phenomenal aspect to this, is that each jaw (composed of two stars each) is pointing in two directions. In other words, if you drew a line parallel with these two sets of stars (the head of Draco), they each go in two directions: one leading to the Valley of Decision Constellation, and the other going straight to the Broad Way to Hell Constellation (AKA Pisces).

Now if one studies the Valley of Decision Constellation, it is soon discovered that the same concept, of the Wise and Foolish Virgins, is also depicted in this constellation group. The Five Wise Virgins being depicted by the Andromeda Galaxy, and the Five Foolish Virgins, looking like a wheel, rolling its way down into the Dragon Constellation!

We parents have at one time or another, hired a babysitter.

And what we got was usually less-than the ideal.

In other words, the babysitter was most often some teenager, who probably spent most of her time talking on the phone, while our children played under her watchful eyes.

And we were content with this, since their physical safety was our main concern!

Of course, as Christian parents, our great hope was to find some babysitter who would read Christian stories to our children.

TODAY’S HIGH-TECH BABYSITTER!

Unfortunately, the television/Internet makes a great babysitter and has now become the primary designated babysitter in many homes!

It keeps kids entertained for hours!

The problem is, TV (and Internet, radio, etc…) will ultimately conform children to this Antichrist society, and to the character of Satan!

And all instinctively know it is evil, and yet it is so convenient to simply plop them down, and let the electronic device do all the work!

Obviously, the world is sinking down, down, down, into the bottomless pit of sin!

Immorality is increasing so rapidly, it makes heads spin!

BUT WOULD I DIE-TO-SELF?

There are many parents who make the claim, “I would die for my child!”

.

And this is a nice sentiment.

And yet, the real question to be answered is:

*”But would I live for my child?

.

*Would I lay down my selfish life on the altar of sacrifice for my child?

.

*Would I give up all my selfish ways, so that I can devote myself to raising my child in such a way, that my child will stand for Christ in a world sinking in evil and immorality?”

NO WALL OF PROTECTION!

Far too many Christian parents are caught up in the pursuit of earthly Mammon and decadent luxuries and proud careers and selfish pleasures of this life.

But all such vanities will not suffice to raise their children to be fit for Heaven.

Far too many families have not “made an hedge”, that is, a wall of protection around their home. (See Job 1:9, 10)

.

And Satan has no problem entering in and causing evil and trouble to abound within such a prayerless home.

And as a result, their children are disobedient and given over to passion and evil desires.

.

.

.

.

.

LAYING ALL THE ALTAR

.

What is needed is for the Christian parent to come to the point where he or she decides to lay all upon the altar for Christ.

.

That’s right, the spiritual hedge around the Christian home will only become devil-proof when the parent finally makes a full surrender to Christ!

Nothing less than a 100% devotion to the Lord will suffice!

A half-hearted commitment to Christ will be futile! 

.

THE JOY OF SEEING A CONSECRATED FAMILY!

The bottom line to all this is, just what could be as gratifying as to one day see your children coming to the obedience of Heaven?

And what could be as joyful as seeing your spouse also coming to the Lord?

Oh no, these things will most likely NOT happen immediately!

But this is where faith comes in!

Yes, “faith is substance of things hoped for! And faith is the evidence of things not yet seen!” Hebrews 11:1

.

All we need to do, is simply offer our entire life to the total service and 100% devotion to Christ, and then walk by faith concerning our loved ones and prayed-for others!

.

FROM WHERE & TO WHERE DOES SHE FLEE?

.

This page is about the Big Dipper, also called the Great Bear constellation (Ursa Major ).

However, the ancient pagan cultures did not see this constellation as God intended it to be seen.

It is actually a headless woman in childbirth.  

This is seen in springtime.

It is seen in the northern skies. 

.

But as the seasons progress, this travailing woman flips upside down, now appearing as a woman with upraised arms like eagle wings who is running (eventually flying, as shown in sketch on right) into the wilderness (westward).

The single star representing her birth-child (Christ) now becomes her head (“Christ is the head of the church.” Ephesians 5:23

.

The 7 Stars (Big Dipper) is easy to see with its very bright 7 stars.

But the Revelation 12 Woman (Ursa Major) must be seen on a dark starry night, away from city lights.

Revelation 9,

Part 4:

“The Three Woes!”

Now in yesterday’s devotional (click here), the groundwork was laid for what the three woes are for: primarily for the Church, and not for the world at large. Oh yes, in Revelation, the world bleeds through the various chapters. But Revelation primarily concerns God’s people. Revelation is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ”, howbeit in types and symbols.

.

And it was also learned in yesterday’s devotional that Revelation 9 concerns the fiery tribulation which comes on God’s people to purify them even as gold that is tried in the fire! The first composite beast symbolized the various ways in which God allows Satan to torment His people, so that God might crucify that “Old Man” within, with all his fleshly lusts and desires.

THE 2ND WOE OF REVELATION 9

.

Now before we get bogged down with the 1st beast, let’s move on to the second beast of Revelation 9… “And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.” Revelation 9:15-17

“5” SPEAKS OF FAMILY

.

“6” SPEAKS OF DEATH

.

Now this 6th trumpet speaks of death, death in the sense of the 6th Commandment, “Thou shalt not kill”.  And while the fifth trumpet spoke of the 5th Commandment, concerning family (God’s family of Believers), the 6th trumpet speaks of these killing machines in the form of horses (congregations) and riders with fire & brimstone and heads of lions and tails as serpents (remember that Christ is the “serpent on a pole” to save us from the deadly evil serpents, Satan & his armies).

.

Now here again, the chosen and elect must die. But the death spoken of here is concerning being crucified with Christ. And this 6th woe is what finally kills God’s elect: that is, the Old Man within, the Man of the flesh is finally crucified.

THE NUMBER, “ONE-THIRD”

.

So just what does it mean when Revelation says here… “to slay the third part of men” Revelation 9:15

.

Well, the number “one-third” brings us back to Zechariah…“And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is My people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.” Zechariah 13:9

.

So, when Revelation speaks “a third”, it is most likely speaking of God’s people. And here in Revelation 9, the killing of a third of men has to do with God’s people dying-to-self.

FIRE & BRIMSTONE

.

And also, this second woe speaks twice about “fire and brimstone”.

.

The “fire & brimstone” spoken of concerns God’s Word and God’s judgment. And it is God’s Word which is the fiery sword which will slay the wicked, “Old Man”, that strives for mastery over every Christian.

.

REVELATION 9 = DEATH-TO-SELF IN BELIEVERS

.

And so, to put it concisely, Revelation, Chapter 9 speaks of the death process which Believers have always gone through, but will be amplified in the time of trouble just now upon us.

.

The Bible calls this coming tribulation, “The Time of Jacob’s Trouble”. It is a time of God’s people wrestling with God, one-on-one, and not giving up!

.

It is the time when God’s elect and chosen ones finally gain full victory over the flesh, the devil and the world!

.

SOLA SCRIPTURA

That’s right! What we must keep in mind is that Revelation is merely the Gospel of Jesus Christ veiled behind types and symbols.

.

And so, any and every part of that mysterious book must be deciphered by searching the Bible only, for the true Revelation of Jesus Christ.

.

Forget about newspapers and history books! They are not needed.

.

It is “Sola Scriptura”, that is, “the Bible only”, which will unlock the Book of Revelation for us!

7 MAJOR STARS OF ORION…

Orion Constellation can best be seen all winter (but even in August in the pre-dawn hours of morning in eastern skies) traveling east to west through the night, in mid-sky.

To find the seven major stars of Orion (one star on each shoulder and one star on each foot, plus the three stars which make his belt), you can locate on just about any clear night regardless of the blackness of the night. To find Orion’s other stars, you need more star-visibility…a darker, moonless night, and possibly away from city lights.

“And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that He said, ‘Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.'” Genesis 19:17

This above verse from Genesis is the command and warning from God to Lot: Lot being the nephew of faithful Abraham.

Yes, God was going to destroy Sodom and its surrounding cities! Because, Sodom had spurned God’s warnings, it had reached its day of the fierce judgment of Almighty God!

.

And Lot, and his family had unknowingly moved to that wicked city, merely for the sake of convenience and prosperity! But Lot came to despise the wickedness of city life!

.

But by now, Lot was stuck there! His family, no doubt, learned to love the pleasures and conveniences which that opulent city afforded them. And they grew insensitive to the prevailing wickedness of that city!

.

Their consciences became blunted by the daily association with sin, as is written… “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1st Corinthians 15:33.

HISTORY OF SUNGLASSES

In prehistoric and historic time, Inuit peoples wore flattened walrus ivory “glasses,” looking through narrow slits to block harmful reflected rays of the sun.^{[3] [4]}

It is said that the Roman emperor Nero liked to watch gladiator fights with emeralds. These, however, appear to have worked rather like mirrors.^[5]

Sunglasses made from flat panes of smoky quartz, which offered no corrective powers but did protect the eyes from glare were used in China in the 12th century or possibly earlier.

Ancient documents describe the use of such crystal sunglasses by judges in ancient Chinese courts to conceal their facial expressions while questioning witnesses.^[6]

In the 1940’s, Sunglasses became a fashion statement for many people and even many “movie-stars”. And today, sunglasses are a regular part of everyday life, offering protection from harmful sunlight.

Of course, the Bible makes the connection between Christ, and the Sun. Countless times in Scripture, our Lord is compared to the Sun.

But perhaps we might say that when we begin looking at life through the eyes of Jesus, we have in essence, put on our Son-Glasses!

EARTH-HUGGERS, US!

As we all know, when we were back in the world, we looked at life from a horizontal vantage-point. In other words, we viewed life from a “ground-zero” viewpoint. We judged earthy matters from an earthly point of view. Our focus in life was upon the things of the earth. We were intimately intertwined with the everyday goings on! We were earth-huggers! We were totally caught up in the things of the world! We could not see, nor comprehend our daily matters from a heavenly viewpoint.

IN THE HEAVENLIES WITH CHRIST

But once the grace of God appeared, we were called to come out of the world, and begin a heavenward sojourn. And now, we had received a new heart. Now Jesus had planted the seed of Heaven within our heart! Now we began to look at life from a heavenly vantage point.

.

And so, you might say that we now put on our Son-Glasses! No longer were we looking at life from a horizontal vantage-point! Now we were sitting with Christ “in heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3, 20, 2:6, 3:10). Now we were looking at worldly matters from a heavenly viewpoint!

.

And as sunglasses make darker this world, so too, our Son-glasses make this sinful world of temptation dim to our eyes!

SATAN TURNS OUR EYES DOWNWARD

.

Of course, the “god of this world” would like nothing more than to get us to take off our Son-Glasses! Yes, Satan and his evil angels work around the clock to devise ways in which to trick us into taking our eyes off Heaven and off of Heaven’s Jesus!

And so, there are many times when we find ourselves once again looking at life from a horizontal vantage-point.

.

And then we once again become intertwined in earthly matters.

.

EARTH-HUGGING

.

Once again we begin seeking after earthly pleasures and amusements. Or we begin seeking after things which bolster the pride of life within us! Perhaps we even begin to get into squabbles with fellow employees, fellow Christians, or even family members! Or we begin to become heavily burdened with life’s mundane worries and cares. Or we return to TV watching. We become impatient with our children. We become concerned about politics and social matters. And our Christ-like witness to others begins to wane, and agape love begins to wax cold. Our prayer-life and Bible study/contemplation becomes thin and anemic. Yes, our thoughts become worldly.

And so, just what is the remedy for all this?

.

How can we once again put on our Son-Glasses, and once again look at life from a vertical heavenly vantage point?

JAMES HAS THE PRESCRIPTION…

.

Perhaps this passage from James in the New Testament is appropriate for our circumstances…“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God…Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” James 4:4, 8-10

.

Here in this above passage is found the prescription and remedy for our spiritual blindness. We simply have to return to the Lord in prayer and repentance. We must plead for strength to put on our Son-Glasses once again! We must plead for grace to return to our former position of fellowship with the Lord.

LIFTED UP IN DUE SEASON

And as James concludes…“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up (in due season).” And eventually, we will find ourselves once again viewing life’s everyday matters through our Son-Glasses. Once again we will be seeing life from a heavenly vantage-point, instead of from a ground-zero vantage-point!

And once we have been restored, we will ever-after be more careful to not take off and misplace our Son-Glasses. We will begin to take much better care of them, so as not to lose them ever again!

GOD’S LAST CALL

So these Two Turtle-Doves are a sign of witnessing to a lost and dying world. And it may just be that these Two Turtle-Doves are a sign of God’s last message to the world!

Yes, the Bible says… “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” Luke 21:25-27.

And so, if these signs are a fulfillment of Luke’s prophecy, then these Two Turtle-Doves are a symbol of God’s last message of mercy to this world!

FIDDLING WHILE ROME BURNED

Let’s change subjects for a moment.

Have you ever heard the expression, “Nero fiddled while Rome burned”?

CHRISTIANS BLAMED

.

Well, it’s debatable whether or not Nero actually did sing and play his harp while Rome burned. But history surmises that Nero himself could very well have been responsible for Rome’s Great Fire of 66 A.D.

But one thing is for sure! That rascal, Nero, put the blame for starting that Great Fire upon the Christian community, resulting in the persecution of Christians from that day forward!

But how does the story of Lot fleeing from Sodom relate to Nero fiddling while Rome burned?

And how can we Christians relate these two separate events to our current-day crisis?

TOO MANY FIDDLERS TODAY!

Well, just as with so many things in this world, this startling story of Nero playing and singing while his great city burned also can be compared to our current-day situation.

Jesus said to His very own professed people…“O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?” Matthew 16:3

.

In this above verse, Jesus is scolding His people because they could not discern the very promised visitation by the Son of God!

.

In essence, we too cannot discern the signs of times: at least not to the point of getting our armor on!

.

One might say that we Christians are like Nero, because we too are “fiddling while Rome (this world) is burning!”

.

Yes, as we see the horrendous events around the globe, it should awaken us to the fact that God has now just begun to pour out His judgments upon the earth!

Now isn’t it true that when we read in the Old Testament, of all the faithless deeds of God’s professed people, we roll our eyes at their spiritual blindness…“How could they be so blind!?”, we say.

But the fact is, those words of Jesus were for us today, having been, “written for our admonition, upon who the ends of the world are come” 1st Corinthians 10:11

If ever there was a time to, “flee from the wrath to come”, it is now! But instead, we Christians are, “eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage”, buying and selling, planting and building, as if, “tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant!” Matthew 24:37 & Luke 17:28 & Isaiah 56:12

James 5:5 speaks of this adulterous generation, saying…“Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.”

Our churches have mingled the purity of the Gospel with the beggarly elements of the world. And yet, we read of the early Church in the Book of Acts, and for some reason, we do not realize that those godly men were the example for us to follow!

Instead of using our finances to further the Gospel, we invest our money in earthly banks, so that we can go on expensive vacations and maintain and continue on in our current opulent lifestyle well into our “sunset years”!

GOOD NEWS!

Now the very Good News is, that we have come to the day in which God is calling us out of the, “City of Confusion”.

Yes, just as it says… “Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD’S vengeance; He will render unto her a recompense. Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD’S hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.” Jeremiah 51:6, 7

Yes, just as it says, we must flee out of the midst of Babylon, lest we be, “cut off in her iniquity!” We must, “deliver every man his soul”!

Part 2:

“Judge Nothing Before the Time!”

“yea, I judge not mine own self.

For I know nothing by myself;

yet am I not hereby justified:

but He that judges me is the Lord.

“Therefore judge nothing before the time,

until the Lord come,

who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness,

and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts:

and then shall every man have praise of God.”

1st Corinthians 4:4, 5.

Of all the persons to make such an exhortation as today’s signature Bible passage, the Apostle Paul would seem like the last guy to be so bold! But here it is… “Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.” 1st Corinthians 4:5

.

Yes, Paul proclaimed very many judgments in his various Epistles, such as this…“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.” 1st Timothy 9:6.

.

Now here’s a very judgmental statement by Paul, would you not agree?…

NOT TO JUDGE PEOPLE OR THINGS?

.

So just what could Paul be referring to, when he says, “Judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.” 1st Corinthians 4:5

.

Notice that Paul did not say, “Judge no person.” No, Paul said, “Judge nothing…” And so, one might conclude that the Apostle, Paul is speaking about more than judging only the hearts of people.

TAKE, FOR INSTANCE, TELEVISION…

.

Well, with just one quick look at this world, one can easily conclude that there are many things that could warrant our judgment. Yes, there are countless things that we could be judging, aside from people. 

.

Take television for instance. If there were ever a list of inventions from Hell, television would be on the “short-list”, wouldn’t you agree?

.

And certainly the Christian must make a personal judgment about television, whether or not to watch it. And certainly there may be times when that Christian may be inclined to watch TV, perhaps for some particular family situation, or maybe for career purposes.

NOT TO JUDGE TV, OR ITS VIEWERS

.

And so, while a Christian may be vehemently against watching television, that Christian must never set himself up as the controlling conscience for everyone else. Oh yes, it may be the Christian’s duty to warn another Christian against the evils of television watching. And if both parents are in agreement, the decision may be made to not even have a television. But any well-seasoned Believer understands that there are a myriad of special circumstances which are far beyond his personal understanding. And so, that Believer stops himself when Satan whispers some judgmental thought in his ear, regarding someone else’s choices.

BACK-SLIDERS IN HEART… 

.

For instance, every genuine Believer has, no doubt, had “his nose rubbed in his own sins” so to speak, many countless times over his past Christian experience. And so he is painfully aware of his own weaknesses when he sees another Christian being plagued by television watching, or food addiction, or a host of other garden-variety sins….

.

He well understands the following proverb…“The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways:” Proverbs 14:14 And so the Believer is very sympathetic to, not only the daily struggles of fellow Believers, but also to the weakness and struggles of all Mankind.

MILLIONS OF OTHER EXAMPLES

Well this is just one example of how complex this fallen world is.

.

And one could cite a multitude of other examples of how we cannot fully understand how God is working in the hearts of people in the world.

.

And so, a good, “rule of thumb” would be, “be slow to speak”, as it says in James.

GENTLE & PATIENT WITH OTHERS

.

But also we must remember Paul’s admonition to Timothy (and to us!)… “but be gentle unto all [men], apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.” 2nd Timothy 2:25, 26

.

This above passage reveals that Mankind is hopelessly taken captive and bound by iron fetters in Satan’s prison-house of sin and selfishness. And it does no good to be harsh with others. And though I don’t want to go too far by partaking of their abject sins, I nevertheless must realize that I just cannot judge the motives of the heart, in them, or even in my own self!

OUR HEARTS UNSEARCHABLE

.

Remember what Paul says in this, our same signature passage from 1st Corinthians…“yea, I judge not mine own self. For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but He that judgeth me is the Lord.” Corinthians 4:3, 4

.

Paul knew that he was incapable of even knowing his own heart! That is why Paul spent countless hours praying for the Lord to be His judge, and to graciously reveal to him his secret faults.

THINGS TOO HIGH

.

Listen to David’s self-distrusting statement…LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.” Psalm 131:1, 2

.

And so, dear Stranger & Pilgrim, the very Good News is that this is still the Day of Salvation! And so, let’s no longer try to judge what the world is doing. But let’s wait until that final hour before His throne, when the Great Judge of the Universe, “will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.” 1st Corinthians 4:5

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION…

.

This “Golden Altar” Constellation is only seen in winter through spring, in mid-sky.  It is to the south of the “Fleeing Woman Constellation” (AKA Ursa Major  or The Big Dipper).

.

.

The “Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12” Constellation is in the northeastern sky in this sketch. You would be facing east and looking very high up almost to mid-sky to see this constellation group this way. The altar is farther south but still in the eastern sky. This altar itself is commonly known as “Leo Major“, with the smoke rising being “Leo Minor“.

.

A little farther down this page is the sketch of this same constellation in the latter part of winter, when you look at them facing westward. You will notice that what looked like Gospel seed being cast from her left hand and left foot (see “Woman of Revelation 12-The Fleeing Woman” article for explanation of casting “Gospel Seed”) now appears like smoke or incense rising from the altar. It is not clear why the altar is sideways in back of the Woman. It would make more sense if it were directly under the Woman. However, the Lord must have some spiritual truth to convey concerning this odd positioning of the Altar. The 7 Stars (Big Dipper) is easy to see with its very bright 7 stars. But the Revelation 12 Woman (Ursa Major) must be seen on a dark starry night, away from city lights.

THE ZODIAC CONSTELLATION NAMES
