“Now we beseech you, brethren,

by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,

and by our gathering together unto Him,

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled,

neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us,

as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Let no man deceive you by any means:

for that day shall not come,

except there come a falling away first,

and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Who opposeth and exalteth himself

above all that is called God, or that is worshipped;

so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God,

showing himself that he is God.”

There are many who are running “here and there”, in attempt to prove just how close we are to that “great and notable Day of the Lord”. Acts 2:20

After all, don’t we now see a great interest within the church-world for Bible prophecy concerning these things? Prophecy seminars, and popular international television and radio ministries dedicated solely to Bible prophecy?

But there is a general consensus among all these Bible teachers concerning 2nd Thessalonians, which warns that The Day of the Lord cannot come, until two certain signs are first witnessed in the world…

TWO EVENTS MUST FIRST HAPPEN!

.

Yes, the above passage from 2nd Thessalonians, 2:2 makes very clear… “for that day shall not come, except there come:

.

1. “a falling away first, and…

.

2. “that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.” 2nd Thessalonians 2:3, 4

.

Now here above is seen that two things must first occur, prior to the Day of Christ: “a falling away first” (an apostasy), and the “man of sin be revealed…that he as God sits in the temple of God”.

THE MAN of SIN ALREADY REVEALED

**Now in the last installment (click here to read) of this little series of devotionals titled, “Apocalypse NOW!”, it was presented that the “Man of Sin” has already been revealed.**

Yes, contrary to today’s popular consensus in the church-world, Satan has already come in the form of the Antichrist Beast.

THE GREAT APOSTASY

**But it was not discussed in the Year 2, September 5th devotional (click here to read), regarding the other sign which must also be seen, before that day can come…**

Listen…“for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first…” 2nd Thessalonians 2:3

.

Now, this above verse speaks of a falling away, a “forsaking”, which must first occur.

**So just what is “a falling away”?**

WHAT IS “A FALLING AWAY”?

.

Well, to find the answer to this question, the Bible is the only place to search for the answer…

Listen…

“They on the rock are they, which,

when they hear, receive the word with joy;

and these (who built their house on sand) have no root,

which for a while believe,

and in time of temptation FALL AWAY.”

Luke 8:13

.

So here is seen the meaning of the words, “fall away”. (See also, Luke 8:13, which translates the Greek word, “Apostasia”, into the English word, “forsake”)

FURTHER BIBLE CONFIRMATION

.

And for further confirmation, the Book of Hebrews says…

“For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened…

If they shall FALL AWAY,

to renew them again unto repentance;

seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh,

and put Him to an open shame.”

Hebrews 6:4, 6

.

And also, the words, “falling away” in Strong’s Concordance are actually defined as an “apostasy”, or *“a forsaking”. (see Acts 21:21 & Luke 14:33**, concerning the word, “forsake”, which is the* same word in the Greek as “falling away” in 2nd Thessalonians 2:3)

ANY DIRECT PROPHECIES?

.

So then, the next question is, “Does the Bible ever prophesy of the day when the churches will all fall away?”

.

Oh yes! Listen again to Paul as he foretells of the day when the churches will fall away…

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;

but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers,

having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth,

and shall be turned unto fables.”

2nd Timothy 4:3, 4

.

So here is seen that the Christian churches will turn away from the truth, and from sound doctrine.

ARE WE THERE YET?

.

Now the next question to be asked is this… “Have we arrived at that day, when the great apostasy foretold in Scripture has already occurred?”

.

Well, just about any biblically well-versed conservative Christian understands that a great portion of the churches have now embraced a prosperity-driven, worldly-focused gospel.

.

ARE SOME CHURCHES STILL FAITHFUL?

.

But these same conservative Christians might also affirm that there are many faithful churches which still teach from the Bible.

.

So then, these so-called conservative Christians will by no means acknowledge a total apostasy in the church-world. They insist that their church is still faithfully preaching the Bible-only!

.

Well, this website gives many proofs and evidences, that the great apostasy has already occurred, both in the so-called “liberal” churches, BUT ALSO in the so-called “conservative” churches.

BOTH EVENTS FULFILLED

Now whether the Reader agrees or not concerning the totality of today’s apostasy, it is generally acknowledged that the current apostasy concerns at least half of the churches: those churches who have embraced the prosperity/pleasure gospels.

And so, the bottom line to all this is, we can now finally see the two events transpiring before our very eyes: the apostasy of the Christian world, and the revealing of just what is and who is the Antichrist Beast (Satan’s world-system), foretold of in Scripture.

(After all, Revelation 17 reveals this multi-faceted beast as having various “kings and kingdoms”, which means this beast is a conglomerate of various antichrist kings and kingdoms. Therefore, those who insist on the Antichrist Beast as being a single individual are ignoring Revelation 17:7, 8)

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Revelation 12:3

**In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.**

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns. Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10). So we have this 7 and 10 numbering. And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent. Because the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

God originally created this world to be a beautiful home for Mankind.

.

Yet when we fell from grace, this world began to change in many ways. Nature, to a certain extent, began to take on some changes. Many creatures and plants, etc., gradually took on dangerous aspects.

.

But in addition to giving nature the ability to become dangerous after the Fall of Man, God also designed nature to teach lessons about good and evil!

.

Yes, there are many creatures who exhibit appearances and behaviors, which teach us various lessons about heavenly virtues.

.

But many other aspects of nature teach lessons about Satan’s government of Hell!

CUTTLEFISH: THE ULTIMATE IMPOSTORS!

.

One of the most amazing creatures ever created is the Cuttlefish! Actually, it is not a fish, but a type of mollusk, like a squid or octopus.

.

The reason why this creature is so incredible, is that it can simply glance at its environment and instantly change its body to imitate that environment.

.

For instance, if it wants to hide from its enemies, or lie-in-wait for its victims, next to a sea-weed, it almost miraculously changes its color, spots, and shape to imitate that seaweed. It can even instantly grow leaf-like appendages to imitate certain seaweeds!

.

This little creature is nothing short of amazing!

CUTTLEFISH: SYMBOL OF SATAN

Well, God has created this little predator to give us further insight into the inner working of the kingdom of Satan.

(As this little 26 second video below shows, the Cuttlefish has the ability to paralyze his potential victims, by using his hypnotizing strobe-light effect! Amazing!)

.

Certainly, Satan and his unseen minions love to make themselves invisible! And then with strobe-like flashes Satanic forces mesmerize us with the glittering tinsel-like treasures and earthy pleasures!

This is the manner in which, they can deceptively work their misery and woe upon this unsuspecting world!

.

Yes, without Satan’s deceptions and mesmerizing allurements, the world’s inhabitants would become alarmed, which would cause us to rebel against Satan’s kingdom, as we flee to God for refuge and safety!

WILLIAM RANDOLPH HEARST

In earlier decades, American history was once taught to students. And briefly, but enthusiastically teachers taught of that infamous newspaper magnate, William Randolph Hearst.

And the main thrust of the classroom lesson was that Hearst wholeheartedly engaged in “Yellow Journalism”, as he used exaggerations and sensationalism in his vast and powerful empire of newspapers to promote his own personal political views.

.

And so, William R. Hearst was tagged with the demeaning title of being a “Yellow Journalist”.

THE INDUSTRY STANDARD

But what was once considered to be a despicable and disdainful form of dishonesty, has now become the industry-standard in today’s politically-divided world! You can just bet that schoolkids no longer hear lectures about Hearst’s “Yellow Journalism”!

**In other words, “Yellow Journalism” has now become “the new normal” throughout the daily news industry, to a great degree!**

.

Yes, not only newspapers, but radio, television and Internet are saturated with the same exaggerations, omissions, sensationalism, biased coverage, story-spiking, and sometimes, even out-and-out lies!

.

The volunteer self-censorship of today’s biased news sources has gotten so bad that, in order to truly discover what’s happening in the news, one would be forced to go to a number of different news sources, of various political stripes, and also some Christian news sources, in attempt to get the full story of what’s actually happening in the daily news. But even then, one might never get the full and complete truth on what’s really happening in the world!

UNDER THE GUISE OF UNBIASED NEWS REPORTING

Well, for those who are merely political commentators, it’s okay to give one’s own personal opinion on this or that topic. That’s what commentators do.

.

And they don’t try to comment under the guise of being unbiased reporters. They freely acknowledge their biased opinions.

.

But in today’s world, there is such a jealousy for political supremacy in the on-going war between so-called, “liberalism” and “conservatism”, that most, or perhaps all news organizations feel it necessary to slant their stories to promote their own personal biases for one or the other of these two ideologies.

.

“TRUTH IS FALLEN IN THE STREET…”

In other words, these newspapers, radio, Internet, and television daily news sources pass themselves off as merely non-objectively reporting the daily news.

But in reality, they are busy deciding which stories will further their political aims, and which stories oppose their personal politics.

.

And so, it’s hard to find a news source that doesn’t use Yellow Journalism when it comes to political/social/religious news!

.

And even political/social/religious commentators quite often misreport or omit important facts altogether, so as to purposely make their political enemies look even worse than they actually are!

.

So, Yellow Journalism often extends, not only to news reporters, but also even to many opinion-commentators, as well!

WHY ALL THE DECADENCE?

But the question which many are asking today is, “Why have our societies devolved into such a decadent condition?”

.

**One great truth which must under-gird our understanding of this fallen world, is that Satan has been given the title, “the god of this world” (2nd Corinthians 4:4).**

.

And so, the real puzzling question should actually be, “Why does anything in this, his fallen kingdom, have the appearance of goodness? If this world is Satan’s kingdom, then why is there any goodness at all?”

.

A “FORM OF GODLINESS” IN THIS WORLD

(see 2nd Corinthians 4:4)

Well, one other great truth is also found in 2nd Corinthians…

“…for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers

also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;

whose end shall be according to their works.”

2nd Corinthians 11:14, 15

It is Satan’s great purpose to disguise his true nature of evil with a cloak of goodness.

.

Because if this world was totally and overtly evil, then the citizens of his kingdom would become alarmed, rebel against him, and return to God.

“let God be true, but every man a liar;”

.

But there has always been deception and dishonesty in the world, as is written…“let God be true, but every man a liar;” Romans 3:12

.

This little verse presents a giant concept, namely, that each and every one of us are liars, by nature!

And so, it should not surprise us to see Yellow Journalism being practiced!

MAINTAINING A FACADE OF GOODNESS

But what’s surprising, is to see Yellow Journalism becoming the industry-standard, such as has never before been seen!

.

Yes, with all the giant news organizations out there, you would think that at least some of them would attempt to be honest and unbiased in their reporting!

.

Well, the fact is, most news organizations do indeed attempt to maintain an air of honesty. After all, if they were totally dishonest, then nobody would watch or listen to them!

.

But when it comes to political and social issues, they just cannot seem to help themselves in misreporting!

.

And even if they do report a story which helps “the other side”, that story will probably be buried as quickly as possible, so as to not help their political/social/religious foes any more than necessary.

So, what is the point to today’s devotional?

.

After all, both the political/social “leftists”, and the political/social “right”, are exposing the dishonesty of one-another all day long!

.

So why does this website feel the need to also “pile on” in this on-going mud-slinging match between these two opposing factions?

.

Well, this current political/social/religious situation in which the kingdom of Satan is seemingly divided against itself makes it much more evident of just how futile it is for Christians to try to depend on the world for help.

.

“A KINGDOM…DIVIDED…CANNOT STAND!”

Yes, as Scripture reveals…“And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” Mark 3:24

And so, as this heated battle between the “left” and “right” rages on, it seems as if Satan’s kingdom is now divided against itself.

.

And as the various news organizations take their respective sides in this fierce civil-war political battle, it becomes a great opportunity for Christians and others to witness the utter futility of trying to depend on the world.

“THEN SHALL YE…DISCERN BETWEEN THE RIGHTEOUS & THE WICKED”

And so, as we compare the dishonesty and hypocrisy of the world with the flawless righteousness of Heaven and Heaven’s Jesus, the contrast becomes much more distinct and evident!

Yes, Jesus came into this world to save this world! But the world wanted to “have nothing to do with that righteous Man!” Matthew 27:19

.

And as we can now see, today’s corrupt world is no better than it was back in the days of Calvary’s cruel Cross, when such lying resulted in His crucifixion!

And so, the offer still goes out daily, to one and all, to turn away from this hopelessly dying world, and return to the One who has not one dark spot of character, to worship the One who is the very essence of goodness and honesty! And if a man, woman, or child wishes to find truth, they need not look any further than the Bible!

And in the world to come, there will be none of the wickedness and selfishness that we now see all around us (and in all of us). There will be no more of Satan’s Yellow Journalism. His lies and deceit will be fully and finally destroyed!

And in the world to come, peace and harmony and honesty and brotherly love will reign supreme!

THE NARROW GATE STARS

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter. Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter being the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story). Orion, the Dragon, and the Glorious White Horse are beginning to descend into the western horizon (sketch to right is Winter Constellations descending into western horizon. This can actually be seen as early as December, in the pre-dawn hours).

.

And at this point it is apparent that the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation is veering toward the two bright stars, known as Castor and Pollux (sketch to below left). But the Wide Gate Stars are composed of the two brightest stars of the Auriga Constellation, known as the star, Capella, and the star, Menkalinan. The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.

.

This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark). While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions. It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

.

The sketch to left shows, the two doors are each composed of two bright stars. The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle. The two stars that comprise the ‘Wide Gate’ Stars are the two brightest stars of the wave of water that comes out of the Dragon Constellation’s mouth (for explanation of “Wave of Water”, just click here). The stars that make up the ‘Narrow Gate’ are about half the width of the Wide Gate (see sketch to right).

But today’s devotional asks the question… “So, what’s stopping this nation from doing the same? Just like Nineveh, we too can return to God in sackcloth and ashes, pleading for His divine mercy and protection and restoration!”

The problem with all this is found in our signature verse…“If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:” Psalm 66:18

So this verse reveals that God does not hear the prayers for protection and restoration from those who still pursue sin.

CHURCHGOERS CAN PRAY

Well, this certainly puts the people of this world out of the running for convincing God to help! To a great extent, they have no regard for the things of God!

But what about churchgoers? We certainly don’t regard iniquity in our hearts!

Well, do we? So then, God will most assuredly hear our prayers!

LOVE OF THE WORLD: HATRED TOWARD GOD

Well, listen to this next passage…

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses,

know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?

whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.”

James 4:4

So it is impossible to please God if we still are friends with this world.

OUR WORDS AND OUR LIVES DO NOT AGREE

But many churchgoers will gleefully reply… “But I don’t love this present world! I’m a Rapture-Ready child of the King!”

“And they come unto thee (Jeremiah) as the people cometh,

and they sit before thee as My people,

and they hear thy words,

but they will not do them:

for with their mouth they show much love,

but their heart goeth after their covetousness.”

Now if our hearts go after our covetousness, then, we indeed still love the world!

HAVE WE ROBBED GOD?

But most church-goers will reply… “Well my heart certainly doesn’t go after covetousness!”

But listen to Malachi…

“Ye are cursed with a curse:

for ye have robbed Me, even this whole nation.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse,

that there may be meat in Mine house,

and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts,

if I will not open you the windows of Heaven,

and pour you out a blessing,

that there shall not be room enough to receive it.”

Malachi 3:9, 10

WE’RE NEW COVENANT CHRISTIANS!

But then, many will be quick to point out…“But we’re not under that Old Testament law anymore! We’re New Covenant Christians!”

.

Okay, so what you’re saying is that since you’re not under the Old Covenant, you can now give less and keep more back to be used for your personal enjoyment. Correct?

CHRISTIANS GIVE MORE, NOT LESS?

But isn’t it just the opposite? Aren’t we New Covenant Christians supposed to give all, and not less?

Didn’t Christ come to show us how to lay down our entire lives upon the altar of service? Didn’t Paul give us the example of his own life of total dedication, and total self-sacrifice?

.

Didn’t Paul commend the church at Macedonia for giving beyond their means?

.

Listen… “Moreover, brethren,

we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia;

How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy

and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.”

REAPING WHAT WE SOW

And didn’t Christ commend the poor widow who put her last two mites into the offering plate?

And doesn’t Paul tell us that we can only expect to reap bountifully (spiritually) if we have sown bountifully?

Listen…But this I say,

He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly;

and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.”

Here is a principle which has much to do with the condition of our world today! The fact is, that we who live in this cornucopian society have been given the opportunity to give generously to the Lord’s work. There are many who could have lived frugally, so that we could have given not 20%, but maybe even 40 or 50% or more!

ENJOYING THIS SELFISH WORLD

But instead, many Christians hold back much of their finances, to spend that money on selfish pleasures…

Listen…“Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth,

and been wanton;

ye have nourished your hearts,

as in a day of slaughter.”

James 5:5

.

Yes, we have nourished our hearts, as in a day of slaughter! While the world is starving for the bread of life, we here in this hedonistic society are living in wanton pleasure!

And so, the question remains…“How can we presume to think that God will answer our prayers for this nation when we are still seeking after the the pleasures and proud pursuits of this selfish world?”

REAPING THE WHIRLWIND

But now, God has unleashed His fury! Now, God has let loose the winds of strife! We are now beginning to drink of His cup of fury!

And we think that if we elect some capable one to be our leader, that he (or she) is going to somehow fix the problems all around us! Or we think that God is going to hear our prayers for His blessings while we continue to seek after all the cares and pleasures of this life!

Well, God may indeed hold back His cup of fury for a short season while we make up our minds about just which world we are going to live for.

But once each and every case has been decided, then judgment will render her full wages to us.

PRESCRIPTION FOR RECOVERY

PARADISE IS WAITING

And for those who do overcome, the promise is made…

“He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;

and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life,

Here we have a promise for those who truly become a follower of Jesus, as He leads us up and out of this present evil world, and into the everlasting Promised Land of Heaven, where we will be ever joyful and forever young!

THE NARROW GATE STARS

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter. Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter being the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story). Orion , the Dragon, and the Glorious White Horse are beginning to descend into the western horizon (sketch to right is Winter Constellations descending into western horizon. This can actually be seen as early as December, in the pre-dawn hours).

.

And at this point it is apparent that the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation is veering toward the two bright stars, known as Castor and Pollux (sketch to below left). But the Wide Gate Stars are composed of the two brightest stars of the Auriga Constellation, known as the star, Capella, and the star, Menkalinan. The two stars, Castor and Pollux, make up the concept of the Orion’s Narrow Gate Stars.

.

This can even be observed into June in the western sky (for a short time just after dark). While a dark night is best for seeing the Woman Constellation, the 4 stars which comprise the Narrow Gate/Wide Gate Stars can be seen even under mediocre conditions. It begins with the Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12 Constellation (AKA Ursa Major) going towards these two doors.

The sketch to left shows, the two doors are each composed of two bright stars. The two bright stars that comprise the Narrow Gate are the two brightest stars of the Orion the Reaper’s sickle. The two stars that comprise the ‘Wide Gate’ Stars are the two brightest stars of the wave of water that comes out of the Dragon Constellation’s mouth (for explanation of “Wave of Water”, just click here). The stars that make up the ‘Narrow Gate’ are about half the width of the Wide Gate (see sketch to right).

God originally created this world to be a beautiful home for Mankind. Yet when we fell from grace, this world began to change in many ways. Nature, to a certain extent, began to take on some changes. Many creatures and plants, etc., gradually took on dangerous aspects.

**But in addition to giving nature the ability to become dangerous after The Fall of Man, God also designed nature to teach lessons about good and evil!**

.

Yes, there are many creatures who exhibit appearances and behaviors, which teach us about heavenly virtues. But many aspects of nature teach lessons about Satan’s government of Hell!

THE SEA: AN ALLEGORY OF FALLEN HUMANITY

As a matter of fact, God has created the oceans of the world to be a portrait of this fallen world. Just like all of Creation, we can see various aspects of God’s “controversy with the nations” (Jeremiah 25:31).

Some creatures represent good aspects of the Gospel of Christ, while others represent the bad aspects of Satan’s government.

CUTTLEFISH: THE ULTIMATE IMPOSTORS!

One of the most amazing creatures ever created is the Cuttlefish! Actually, it is not a fish, but a type of mollusk, like a squid, or an octopus.

.

The reason why this creature is so incredible, is that it can just glance at its environment and instantly change its body to imitate that environment.

.

For instance, if it wants to hide from its enemies, or lie-in-wait for its victims, next to a sea-weed, it simply changes its color, spots, and shape to imitate that sea-weed. It can even instantly grow leaf-like appendages to imitate certain sea-weeds! This little creature is nothing short of amazing!

During any presidential debate, there are a lot of promises made about restoring that nation to her former greatness. And there is usually a lot of promises about strengthening our military.

The problem with all these promises is that the solution is not found with mere humans…

GOD SAVES OR DESTROYS

.

Listen… “At what instant I (God) shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.” Isaiah 18:7, 8

.

As this above passage from Isaiah says, it is God who blesses nations and it is God that curses nations. And so, if God has cursed our society, then it is absolutely futile to attempt to protect her from outside enemy forces! Absolutely worthless!

BEFORE A NATION IS DESTROYED FROM WITHOUT,

IT IS DESTROYED FROM WITHIN…

.

The fact is, the root cause of any nation’s decline or destruction can always be traced back to that nation’s wickedness. With some nations, it may be greed for more power, or more control, or more territories. With other nations, it may be greed for materialism and for more earthly riches. For still others, it may be dishonesty and other corruptions. And still others may be lusting for immorality.

.

And so, you could say, that before a nation is destroyed from without, it must become corrupt from within. Otherwise, God would protect that nation.

.

This truth bears repeating. God will protect a good nation. But a corrupt and immoral nation will not be safe, regardless of how strong its military happens to be!

THE DESTRUCTION OF SODOM

.

A perfect example of God’s blessings and cursings on a nation can be witnessed in God’s dealings with Sodom.

.

After helping Sodom out of various troubles with outside enemies, God finally brought judgment upon her.

.

Her immorality had become too much. And God brought a swift end to Sodom.

.

THE SALVATION OF NINEVEH

.

On the other hand, after Jonah warned Nineveh of its impending judgments, the people of Nineveh turned to God with fasting and sackcloth and repentance for their wickedness…“Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water: But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands. Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?” Jonah 3:7-9

And so we have two examples of how God can deal with a wicked nation.

In one instance, the people were destroyed.

.

In the other, the people repented and were saved.

REAPING THE WHIRLWIND

And so it is with the nations which once embraced the Christian Reformation. They have slowly but surely rejected the Gospel they once loved, and have turned once again to wickedness of one form or another. And now they are reaping the whirlwind as the Bible says.

And so, if Christians are looking for this or that candidate to come to that nation’s rescue, they can just forget it! Judgment is now coming upon the former Reformation nations. And there is one and only one hope for any nation. And that one hope is for the people to turn back to Jehovah God, begging and pleading for repentance and honesty, and selflessness, and humbleness, and restoration of stolen property, and generosity, and every other virtuous quality…

And so, just as the cuttlefish is a living breathing deception, so too, this whole world, the kingdom of Satan, is a giant delusion.

It is one great deception! It makes people think that they can do it without God’s help. But that is just a lie of the Devil!

Daily Devotional, Year 2 – OCTOBER 15

The Time of Trouble!

.

Part 2:

“Gideon’s 300 & Our Soon-Coming Battle!”

Even abject unbelievers are sensing that something big is about to happen! The signs of the times are all around us! The world appears to be morphing into some very big, bad, and foreboding scenario.

.

The paradigm shifts are occurring “swifter than leopards” (Habakkuk 1:8)! And we are amazed at how such a large segment of our population are complicit and even supportive of all this hopeless and evil change now going on!

.

It seems as if Satan is on the march, and nobody can stop him, as he prepares the world for the last Day of Trouble! Our world seems to have entered the great day known as Judgment Day in which it will be determined just “who is on the Lord’s side”, and who is not! (see Exodus 32:26)

HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO THE BIBLE?

.

And so, many earnest Bible students are now searching the Holy Scriptures in hopes of finding out where all these things fit into God’s prophetic time-table.

THE STORY OF GIDEON’S 300

.

One Bible account which many overlook is the story of Gideon, and his battle against the Midianites, found in Judges, Chapter 7.

.

So just what could this seemingly crazy little account have to do with these last-day events, so soon to come upon us?

.

GOD LOOKING FOR DOGS!?

.

Well, for one thing, God is not looking for the proud, the strong, or the fearless. No, He will use those who have no self-esteem, just like those 300 who lapped up water like dogs!

.

In other words, those who drink in the water of Salvation, realizing that we are no better than dogs, with all our unrighteousnesses, are exactly the type that God can use in this last-day conflict!

.

And, the number “three” represents “purpose”, while “a hundred” represents God’s true Church, His “elect remnant.”

.

And so, “three hundred” represents God’s eternal purpose for His Church. And this story symbolizes God’s ultimate purpose for His Church-elect.

.

OUR BODIES OF CLAY HIDE GOD’S LIGHT

.

Secondly, when Gideon commanded those three hundred to hold their lamps veiled within pitchers of clay, so too, right now, God’s people do not properly let the light of Heaven (which is God’s Word) shine out from us, because of our worldliness!

.

Our corrupt bodies of flesh being represented by those pitchers of clay.

OUR BODIES OF CLAY SOON TO BE BROKEN!

Third, the time is coming when God will finally and completely break us of all our worldly affections, symbolized by the breaking of those clay pitchers, as they ran into battle against the Midianites (symbolizing this unbelieving world).

WATCHMEN OF ZION

And fourth, just prior to breaking those pitchers, each man blew his trumpet, symbolizing that God’s approved Elect will be as watchmen in these last days!

And of course, watchmen in the Bible blew their trumpet whenever they saw the enemy approaching (for instance, see Ezekiel 33:3).

THE BIBLE: SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

Fifth, when the trumpets were blown, they all cried out…“The sword of the Lord, and of Gideon!” (verses 18 & 20).

.

Of course, we know that the Sword of the Lord represents the Bible, which Ephesians 6:17 refers to as the “sword of the Spirit”.

.

THE MEANING OF THIS STORY

.

And so, the basic spiritual meaning of this Judges, Chapter 7 account is just this: God’s people in this last day must begin to hide God’s Word in our hearts, so that our lamp will shine brightly.

.

And if we will accept God’s chastening, realizing that we are no better than dogs, God can and will use us to overthrow the world, just as Samson destroyed the pillars of the Philistines, and just as Gideon’s army destroyed the Midianites.

Okay, so this is a very abbreviated Bible study. But the Bible student can explore this account much more carefully, to see how events will transpire in the coming months.

7 Stars Imitate the Cross of Orion

This phenomenon begins in late October, in the pre-dawn hours. It then begins a little earlier each night, and lasts for several months, until they both appear to lie down once again.

.

This Wikipedia star-chart to the left, has this Orion Constellation sketched in. You must locate Orion, when it is mid-sky, between east and west. You’ll be facing southward most likely, unless you are far south. Try to imagine it as a Cross on a steep hill. The 3-star belt of Orion becomes the crest of the hill. The 3 very faint stars that make up Orion’s head become the very top of the Cross.

Next, locate the 7 Stars Constellation. This 7 Stars Constellation is seen by facing northward. It stands upright a little later in the night. Eventually, Orion will lay down and no longer be seen as an uplifted Cross! Beginning in November, the 7 Stars (AKA Big Dipper) can be seen as a Cross a little bit later in evening.

**When you are comfortable in locating Orion & The 7 Stars Constellations, then show a friend. This can be a great witnessing tool!**

That great Apostle, Paul, was a very proud person, by nature!

.

Yes, prior to his conversion Paul worked harder than every other person, that he might achieve greatness above all others in his nation!

CHIEF OF SINNERS!

.

And yet, when the light of Heaven shone down on Paul, he suddenly realized just what a great sinner he truly was! As a matter of fact, Paul came to discover that…

“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,

that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners;

of whom I am chief.”

1st Timothy 1:15

.

Yes, this great Apostle realized that his heart was, in reality, merely a cesspool of sin! And Paul knew that only the grace of God could clean up that cesspool and make it pure and holy, so it might become a fit house for the indwelling of Christ!

THIS, OUR CONDITION TOO!

But this above statement by Paul was a testimony to all of us!

Paul said… “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation,”

In other words, each and every one of us can likewise make the same judgment about our own self: I too am the chief of sinners!

I too am desperately wicked and in need of the purifying work of Christ upon the cesspool of my own heart!

.

A SURE SIGN OF PERSONAL APOSTASY

.

But one of the surest signs that we have taken our eyes off of Jesus, is when we begin to think that we are doing pretty well, as far as living the Christian life.

.

Yes, many faithful churchgoers are under the notion that their heart is pretty clean!

.

Never would they consent to Jeremiah’s assessment of the heart… “The heart is desperately wicked, and deceitful above all things…” Jeremiah 17:9

.

MY GOOD DEEDS ARE DEFICIENT

.

There is nothing like focusing upon the life of Jesus, to take away any notion that we have attained to any degree of righteousness! Because, compared to the righteous and spotless life of Christ, our best works are but a miserable imitation of Christ!

.

Just think about it! My prayer-life does not even come close to the prayer-life of Christ! My Bible study and hourly contemplation doesn’t even compare to that of Christ’s daily study/meditation! And my deadness-to-self certainly falls far short of Christ’s selflessness! And my faith? Well, it’s a joke, when compared to the faith of Christ! And on and on it goes! Even the best of Christians are a poor imitation of Christ!

.

I can truly say, along with that self-abasing publican in Luke 18:10-14…“God be merciful to me a sinner!” (Luke 18:13)

.

MISPLACED PRIORITIES

.

The problem comes in when Christians become too focused on the world, thus placing our Christianity on the proverbial “back burner”.

.

But instead, our earthly livelihood should come secondary to our daily salvational endeavors!

.

For instance, the Apostle, Paul made his occupation as a tent-maker just another part of His ministry for Christ.

.

LETTING CHRIST LEAD ME

.

Oh yes, as providers for our family, we must work and take care of all necessary obligations each day.

.

But when our lives are fully consecrated to Christ, our eyes will no longer be focused earthward. No, but instead our eyes will be continually looking upward, and our thoughts will constantly be upon His Word!

.

And whether at work, or at play with our family, we will be secretly fulfilling our great commission to be fully engaged in the purification of our heart! And all the while, silent prayers will be ascending Heavenward, no matter where we are, or what we are doing!

.

This is what it means in Isaiah…

“Thou (God) wilt keep him in perfect peace,

(the person) whose mind is stayed on Thee:

because he trusts in Thee.”

Isaiah 26:3

.

“Perfect peace!” What an incentive to follow Jesus and live fully for Him!

.

PERFECT PEACE & JOY

.

Yes, when we are lazar-focused on the Bible, is when we have that perfect peace!

.

And now that this consecrated Christian has his or her mind fixed upon Christ’s righteousness, the awareness of their own sinfulness will be painfully present!

.

But we must not think that such a self-awareness is too sad. No, because a spiritual focus Heavenward is the gift of God’s Holy Spirit, causing there to be an overflowing joy springing out from within the Christian’s heart! And though the world cannot understand such joy, the true worshiper realizes that it is the gift which manifests itself because of God’s Spirit dwelling and abiding within us!

An ongoing repentance which is, “sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing”

2nd Corinthians 6:10

.

Now if the Christian finds it impossible to perform these aforementioned Christian duties, then there must be a relentless pleading for God’s blessing…

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses,

know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?…

Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world

is the enemy of God…

Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.

Cleanse your hands, ye sinners;

and purify your hearts, ye double minded…

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep:

let your laughter be turned to mourning,

and your joy to heaviness.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord,

and He shall lift you up.”

James 4:4, 8-10

.

This above prescription for spiritual renewal and health should become an ongoing (tearful but also joy-filled) repentance until the Day in which I discover that the Book of James no longer condemns me.

NARROW GATE STARS LOCATION

This most amazing phenomenon is seen throughout the winter. Although it can be observed most of the winter, it is seen best when it is the western part of the sky, at winter’s end (The end of winter being the final scene of this heavenly Gospel story). Cease Ye From Man!

Part 8:

“Trust Ye Not In Any Brother!”

“Take ye heed every one of his neighbor,

and trust ye not in any brother:

for every brother will utterly supplant,

and every neighbor will walk with slanders.”

Jeremiah 9:4

Trust ye not…in any brother!? What in the world is this verse saying!?

.

Well, let’s explore this Bible truth for a few minutes…

.

NICE VERSES

.

Well, as most people know, there are many Bible passages, which perhaps, the entire world loves, such as this…

“And be ye kind one to another,

tenderhearted, forgiving one another,

even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Ephesians 4:32

.

Now who couldn’t support such verses as this above verse, concerning kindness tenderness and forgiveness?

.

Of course, in this angry and unforgiving world, hardly anyone lives by this above verse.

.

But they still think it’s a pretty wonderful sentiment!

“This is an hard saying; who can hear it?”

John 6:60

But there are many other Bible passages which are not so popular in today’s church-world!

**Some refer to such passages as, “The hard sayings of the Bible”.**

**Now one such, “hard sayings of the Bible”, happens to be today’s signature verse…**

“Take ye heed every one of his neighbor,

and trust ye not in any brother:

for every brother will utterly supplant,

and every neighbor will walk with slanders.”

Jeremiah 9:4

Here is a warning which is distasteful, for any Christian!

.

**To not even trust in our brother (fellow Christians) is ‘way over the top’, as the saying goes!**

.

“What!? Does God want me to separate myself from the whole world!?

.

Am I supposed to hide in my closet when my neighbors come to my front door to invite me over for a barbecue?

.

Or should I decline, when Christians want to get together for a Bible study?”

.

“TRUST NOT IN A FRIEND!?!”

Obviously, there needs to be a wise balance in answer to all these above questions!

But listen again to this similar passage…

“Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide:

keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lies in thy bosom.

For the son dishonors the father,

the daughter rises up against her mother,

the daughter in law against her mother in law;

a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.”

Micah 7:5, 6

.

Now this passage even goes further to one’s own immediate family! This above verse speaks of wives, fathers, daughter, mothers, daughter-in-laws, mother-in-laws, as well as the men of a man’s own household!

WHAT DID JESUS SAY?

Well maybe all this is just Old Testament nonsense! Maybe I need to just stay in the New
Testament!

But listen to the New Testament, to the very words of Jesus…

“Think not that I am come to send peace on earth:

I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father,

and the daughter against her mother,

and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.”

Matthew 10:35, 36

Here we have the very same truth being presented!

.

And God is basically telling Christians that they cannot place their confidence in anybody in this world… “for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will walk with slanders.” Jeremiah 9:4

EARTH: SATAN’S TURF!

What we must keep in mind is that this world is Satan’s kingdom!

In this sad old world, we are pilgrims in this foreign land of Antichrist deceivers! (see 1st John 5:19)

And as Peter warns…“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” 1st Peter 5:8

.

Yes, we must remain sober and watchful, because Satan is always lurking in the shadows, setting traps for the unwary Christian.

SOME EXAMPLES OF DECEPTION…

For example, suppose that you are listening to a friend or family member who happens to be criticizing a third-party, and you give a half-hearted nod of agreement to one of his accusations about that third-party.

And then, your supposed friend goes back to that third-party, telling them that you criticized them, as if YOU were the sole accuser of that third-party!

.

Or what if you make some private comment about something, or about someone, to a fellow Christian, and then that Christian repeats your comment to others, further embellishing what you actually said to make you look even worse?

.

THEY TWISTED JESUS’ WORDS…

.

Well, this is exactly what they did to Jesus, isn’t it?

Listen to Jesus’ false-accusers…

“We heard Him (Jesus) say,

‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands,

and within three days I will build another made without hands.’

But neither so did their witness agree together.”

Mark 14:58, 59

.

So the accusers of Jesus made various false statements about Jesus.

And don’t you think that Satan will do the very same thing to you?

OUR HOUR OF TRIAL ALSO COMING!

The Bible tells us that we too will stand before earthly authorities, to give a testimony…

“But take heed to yourselves:

for they shall deliver you up to councils;

and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten:

and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake,

for a testimony against them.”

Mark 13:9

.

Church history presents a long account of the testing of God’s people, as they were brought to trial by the apostate church, using civil governments as their “enforcers”.

.

So we must not think it cannot happen again!

.

Oh no, our time of testing will NOT go on for centuries, as did theirs, during the Dark Ages.

.

But God’s faithful remnant can expect to be put on trial in the coming months.

.

APOSTATES NOT CONCERNED

Of course, all these ideas are foolishness to those who are, “at ease in Zion.” (read Amos 6:1)

But for the true worshiper of God, these truths are merely part of their daily battle.

Yes, this world is the battlefield between the armies of Heaven and Hell!

DAVID’S WARINESS

.

Listen to the words of the David…

“I said, I will take heed to my ways,

that I sin not with my tongue:

I will keep my mouth with a bridle,

while the wicked is before me.”

Psalm 39:1, 2

David knew that his words would be used against him, by his enemies.

.

And even if he said nothing wrong, he knew his enemies would nevertheless twist and embellish his words to make him look guilty.

WORKS BOTH WAYS

Now having said all these things, it must also be mentioned that these verses work both ways!

**In other words, when it says, “Trust ye not in any brother…”, that not only applies to others, but also to you and to me too!**

.

That’s right! Other Christians need to be wary of us too! Because in an unguarded hour, Satan may just use us for evil too! And we too may share harmful secrets about a trusting friend! We too, may fall into gossip!

.

And so, faithful Christians need to keep a watch over their words when in our company, too!

.

TO BECOME LIKE JESUS

.

And so, today’s devotional is a warning.

.

No not a warning to cut ourselves off from everyone, but merely to exercise great caution about what we say to, or approve of, with others.

.

This is an integral part of becoming Christlike!

.

And becoming Christlike in every way is our great desire and life-devotion, isn’t it?

THE MILKY WAY RUNS THROUGH

.

THIS HOLY-GHOST-RIDER

Now one thing that is noticeable and makes this constellation even more dramatic, is the fact that the Milky Way runs right through it. And the question that must be asked is, “What biblical implications does this constellation/Milky Way connection have?” Well, very simply put, if stars represent Believers, then this rider works in the world through His True-Worshippers, to a great extent.

WHY IS THIS CONSTELLATION SO INCOMPLETE IN APPEARANCE

.

So why is this constellation merely an outline? Well it does show his back, rear end and leg…and arm. But unlike, say, Orion, this constellation is very vague, even mysterious in appearance. Almost vacant in appearance. Yes this horseman represents Christ. But even more than this, it represents the Holy Spirit of Christ. And as we all know, the Holy Spirit is very, very, un-intrusive, almost impossible to detect His presence.

Babylon = Baby-Land!

.

Part 6:

“Foolishness is bound

in the heart of a child;

but the rod of correction

shall drive it far from him.”

Proverbs 22:15

.

Children are such a wonderful blessing! And to experience all the joys and even the sorrows that come with parenthood help us to become more complete and well-rounded adults!

.

“BABY” DERIVED FROM “BABY-LON”

.

The name, “baby” is said to have been derived from the name, “Babel”. In other words, just as those Babylonians in the days of the building of the Tower of Babel, became confused in their language, so too, babies all speak an unintelligible language!

.

Listen…

“And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one,

and they have all one language;

and this they begin to do:

and now nothing will be restrained from them,

which they have imagined to do…

let us go down, and there confound their language,

that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

Genesis 11:6, 7

.

Yes, just as no Babylonian could understand one another, once God confused their speech, so also, nobody can understand a baby’s language! It just sounds like a whole lot of babbling!

THE GOD OF THIS WORLD

.

Now the Bible tells us that the king of this Babylonian world is actually Lucifer, who fell from Heaven. The Bible calls him, “the god of this world” 2nd Corinthians 4:4.

.

And in this cornucopian society, children are raised according to the dictates of this society. And of course, Satan being the “god of this world”, makes every effort to see that all things are done according to his selfish and erroneous ways.

.

COME OUT OF BABYLON!

.

But God is just now calling His people to come out of all the Babylonish confusion, which is this world…

…”And I heard another voice from heaven,

saying, Come out of her, My people,

that ye be not partakers of her sins,

and that ye receive not of her plagues.”

Revelation 18:4

.

So here we see that God’s people must escape the sins of Babylon (Babylon, the world with its worldly churches).

.

CHILDREN WHO HAVE NOT GROWN UP

.

Now one area of great concern to the Lord is how children are being raised, especially in this age of television, radio, and high-tech devices.

.

The Lord clearly warns Christians…“Be not deceived! Evil communications corrupts good manners (character)” 1st Corinthians 15:33

.

If you haven’t noticed, there is a certain segment of the younger generation which have not been able to properly mature.

.

Just take a stroll down any sidewalk and notice that a certain share of the young people displays a profound immaturity, even into their 20’s and 30’s, and sometimes beyond!

.

SATAN, A TIRELESS ENEMY

.

But how can we blame them? After all, the “god of this world” has worked 24/7/365 to create a society that encourages such immaturity! And so much of television and radio caters to that immaturity.

.

Yes, a great deal of television and the recording industry attempts to appeal to the younger generation on a very low level which often hinders them from growing up properly (this web-editor once being also a victim).

.

BIBLE ENCOURAGES MATURITY

.

On the other hand, the Bible has abundant counsel for parents who want to raise their children to eventually become mature, hard-working adults… “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

.

Or what about this proverb…“Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him”? Proverbs 22:15

.

These two proverbs from the wisest of all mortals, Solomon, exhort parents to lead their children early on, into the pathway of responsibility and right thinking.

Now of course, there may be nothing wrong with allowing children to be children as they play games, or as they pretend in their make-believe world.

And the parent may even join in with them at times, in their little games, laughing, singing and make-believing.

SATAN ALWAYS TAKES THINGS TOO FAR

But since the advent of television, there has grown the erroneous notion that children must be continually fed on the nonsense so prevalent in children’s programming. This is a fatal error by so many parents, and has greatly contributed to the sad current condition of a great percentage of today’s youth.

.

And such a harmful environment will probably cause the children’s mental growth to be stunted, leading them to continually seek more and more immature TV programs and music for many years to come! In other words, after hundreds, or even thousands of hours of feeding themselves on cartoons, etc., they then graduate to foolishness designed for teens. Instead of learning good work ethics and responsibility, they learn to be irreverent and irresponsible!

GREATLY DYSFUNCTIONAL

And by then, they also begin listening to harmful “music” which further solidifies their immaturity and irresponsible attitude toward life.

And combined with sending them off to public schooling which connects them with a large segment of like-minded peers, we see what we are now seeing in today’s society.

.

And a certain percent of younger folks are unable to handle life situations correctly, often resorting to drugs and alcohol and similar bad choices.

.

And even if they can function to a certain degree, they still mostly think in selfish terms, which is largely fostered by so much of the narcissism of today’s TV programs for children.

ELIMINATE THE TV IF POSSIBLE

.

And so, in homes where there are two Bible-believing Christian parents, this website encourages parents to prayerfully consider the possibility of removing the television completely out of the home. There is very little of anything with redeeming value in television.

.

And even the attempt by parents to allow only the so-called “good shows” probably only whets the appetite of children to watch more and more TV! Even the science and nature shows are greatly mingled with godless, atheistic philosophies.

.

Let’s be honest, parents! The sad truth is that Satan owns the television! It’s his turf!

BREAK FREE OF SATAN’S INDOCTRINATION

So Christian parents, if we are truly serious about coming out of Babylon, and escaping the sure judgments of God to fall upon those who fail to come out, we must make a clean break from all satanic indoctrination, as far as possible.

.

MANY MUST LIVE BY FAITH

.

Now for those Christian homes where one parent is not in agreement about these matters, there will be a heavy cross to bear by that one concerned parent, even though he or she endeavors to maintain and encourage a cheerful household.

.

And while we are never to force an unwilling spouse to comply, the Christian must secretly and patiently engage in ceaseless, secret prayer for the members of his or her household, trusting only in the promises of God!

WONDERFUL BIBLE PROMISES!

And we certainly do have Bible promises to cling to…

“Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD;

that walketh in His ways.

For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:

happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house:

thy children like olive plants round about thy table.

Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.”

Psalm 128:1-4

And it should be the great desire of every Christian parent to one day walk through the heavenly gates, hand-in-hand with our children.

And so, it is imperative that we make our exodus out of this Babylonish society and its churches, if we will escape the judgments promised for those who refuse to come out!

There exists a lot of intrigue regarding just what star did the Magi from the East follow, which led them to the First Advent of our Savior.

FULFILLMENT OF WISE-MEN OF OLD

But there is a much greater question that confronts Mankind today. Because, just as a single star guided those wise men to the coming Savior, so also, God is just now giving us many stars, to guide us safely to the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior! And so these starry signs seem to be the fulfillment of those wise men following the star, 2,000 years ago!

GUIDE US TO HEAVEN’S GATE…

And Arcturus is that brilliant star (3rd brightest in our heavens) which leads these Gospel constellations, Summer, Fall, and Winter Constellations, to present a picture story, a heavenly allegory of sorts; these constellations, which together, tell of the incredible love of God. And Arcturus, our Host Star, will lead to an understanding of God’s Word, which will, in turn, guide God’s people up a narrow pathway; onward and upward through Heaven’s Gate itself, and ultimately into the very heavenly City of God.

Oh don’t doubt for a moment that God cannot or will not do this! For with God, all things are possible! Listen… “Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.” Mark 9:23

Strong Delusion in Scripture,

Part 4:

“4 Rules of Proper Bible Study”

There are many today who do not understand how to properly interpret the Bible. And so, there exists much confusion on how to understand the Bible.

.

Oh yes, there are many statements in the epistles which seem to be easily understood…

.

For instance, this following statement is pretty straight-forward…

“Nevertheless we, according to his promise,

look for new heavens and a new earth,

wherein dwells righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things,

be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace,

without spot, and blameless.”

1st Peter 3:13, 14

.

Yes, this above statement is a pretty clear spiritual statement, and needs no further spiritualizing. Oh yes, it must also be harmonized with the rest of the Bible to be in context. But there is no need to allegorize.

But there are many other passages which are not so straight-forward…

BY FIRE & SWORD

.

For example, the Bible says…

“For by fire and by His sword will the LORD plead with all flesh:

and the slain of the LORD shall be many.”

Isaiah 66:16

.

Well, Ephesians 6:17 reveals that God’s sword is His Word. And Hebrews 1:7 reveals that God’s ministers are “flames of fire”. So by comparing spiritual things with spiritual, we now derive the true meaning of this passage… “For by fire (God’s ministers) and by His sword (God’s Word) will the LORD plead with all flesh:”

.

**So, in this case, God’s “sword” and His “fire” needed to be spiritualized in order to rightly interpret the true meaning of this passage.**

FOUR RULES OF BIBLE INTERPRETATION

.

Now, this above spiritualizing of Isaiah 66:16 brings us to the point of laying down four major principles of proper Bible interpretation…

.

1. That all the Bible concerns the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and nothing deals with mere worldly concepts.

.

2. That the Bible is a totally spiritual book, requiring all types and symbols to be spiritually interpreted.

.

3. Types and Symbols must be properly interpreted, comparing scripture with scripture, and spiritual things with spiritual to find the correct spiritual meaning of any particular passage.

.

4. Whatever spiritual interpretation we come up with must be in harmony with the entire Bible.

.

WAS ISAIAH 66:16 RIGHTLY INTERPRETED?

.

And so, was Isaiah 66:16 interpreted according to these four principles?

.

1. That all the Bible concerns the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and nothing deals with mere worldly concepts.

.

Yes, that God uses His ministers (flames of fire) to preach the Gospel is certainly part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

.

2. That the Bible is a totally spiritual book, requiring all types and symbols to be spiritually interpreted.

.

Yes! Here again, the types and symbols “fire” and God’s “sword” were spiritualized as meaning God’s ministers (fire) and God’s Word, the Bible (His sword).

.

3. Types and Symbols must be properly interpreted, comparing scripture with scripture, and spiritual things with spiritual to find the correct spiritual meaning of any particular passage.

.

Oh yes, scripture was used to find the spiritual meaning of “fire” (God’s ministers) and “sword” (God’s Word, the Bible).

.

4. Whatever spiritual interpretation we come up with must be in harmony with the entire Bible.

.

Yes, this finished spiritual statement found in Isaiah 66:16 can stand the scrutiny of any and every other passage in the Bible… “For by fire (God’s ministers) and by His sword (God’s Word) will the LORD plead with all flesh:”

BAD BIBLE INTERPRETATION

.

But let’s suppose we used a non-biblical method of Bible interpretation…

.

For instance, let’s take a passage from Revelation 9…

“And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth:

and unto them was given power,

as the scorpions of the earth have power…

And they had hair as the hair of women,”

Revelation 9:3, 8

.

There are those who look at this passage and attempt to interpret it according to newspapers and history books. In other words, they look through the newspaper in attempt to find something that resembles locusts. “Oh, it must be speaking of black helicopters, because they look like locusts!”

.

And there are a few who look at the words, “And they had hair as the hair of women,” and look into history books and exclaim…“ancient Middle Eastern warriors had long hair like women! So this must be the meaning of this Revelation 9:8 passage!”

.

The problem with all this kind of Bible interpretation is, 1. that it is not concerning the Gospel of Christ, 2. nor is it a spiritual statement, 3. nor was it found by comparing scripture with scripture, 4. nor does it harmonize with any and every thing else in the Bible.

WHAT DO LOCUSTS AND WOMEN’S HAIR REPRESENT?

.

But if we applied these four principles of proper interpretation, we would discover that locusts are used in the Bible to represent God’s chastening of His materialistic people, by allowing their riches to be devoured in one way of another. (see Joel, Chapter 1, for instance)

.

And in the Bible, women’s hair represent the covering of Christ. (1st Corinthians 11:15)

.

And so these two types and symbols, “locusts” (God’s chastisements) and “women’s hair” (The covering of Christ over His people) now can be tested and approved by these four principles of proper interpretation.

STUDY, MEDITATE, PRAY!!!

.

Well, this is just a very quick look at these four basic principles of proper Bible interpretation. But the Bible student can prove this method by engaging in personal Bible study.

.

And instead of ending up with non-biblical interpretations, the Bible student, by applying these four principles, will arrive at an interpretation which will be of a spiritual benefit to him!

.

And of course, we must all be searching God’s Word daily, to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

FIVE WISE VIRGINS STARS

.

This constellation was identified on May 22nd, 2014. It is simply five stars, two from the Serpens Constellation, and three from the Hercules Constellation.

What gives this constellation impetus and significance is that it appears as five evenly positioned stars, in a slight oval pattern, as if they were sitting in a meeting, listening, or perhaps watching someone.

.

Second, they appear to be gathered in front of The Crown of Revelation 12 Constellation. (just below Corona Borealis in this Wikipedia star-chart, in which the editor of this site sketched in these two constellations)

.

AT THE FEET OF JESUS

Now there is another extremely incredible aspect to this star-group! You see, if we could step back far enough (about several light-years backward) we would see this next constellation! It is called “The Sign of the Son of Man Constellation”. As it now stands, it spans both the Summer and Winter skies, so that only half of it can be seen at a time.

.

It is more curved than this drawing. But you will notice that the Five Wise Virgins are gathered at the right foot of Jesus. This reminds us of the story of Mary and Martha, when Jesus came for supper.

.

MARY, THE “HEARER” & MARTHA, THE “DOER”

.

“I have esteemed the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.” Job 23:12

.

One of the most well-known and beloved stories of the Bible is the account in Luke Chapter 10, of Mary and her sister Martha, on the day when Jesus came for dinner.

.

**As the story goes, Martha was slaving in the kitchen, while her sister, Mary, was “sitting at Jesus’ feet, hearing His Word”. This made Martha angry.**

.

Listen… “But Martha was cumbered about much serving,

and came to Him, and said,

Lord, dost Thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?

bid her therefore that she help me.”

.

Now the Bible makes it very clear, that, “Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, Mary…” John 11:5.

.

**But Mary was definitely a Hearer, while Martha was more of a Doer. Martha, today, might be called a “multi-tasker”, or perhaps a “Type-A personality”, or even a “workaholic”.**

How Shall the Moon Be Turned Into Blood?

.

Part 6:

“Mark of the Beast in the Moon!? Addendum to the 2nd Face: The Swine-Eater”

“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world.

If any man love the world,

the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh,

and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,

is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passes away, and the lust thereof:

but he that does the will of God abides for ever.”

1st John 2:15-17

The above passage from 1st John explains the three fundamental sins of Mankind:

.

1. the lust of the flesh,

.

2. the lust of the eyes and

.

3. the pride of life.

.

These three sins were the very three points of temptation which Eve gave in to in the garden.

.

And when Satan tempted Jesus, these same three sins composed the three points of testing.

.

3 BASIC SINS COMPOSE ALL OTHER SINS

.

Now just as the three colors, red, yellow and blue are the three basic colors which, when combined in various ways, make all the other colors, so too, when these three basic sins are combined in various ways, all the countless other sins of Mankind are seen. Yes, the sins of Mankind are composed of a combination of these three basic sins…“the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,”

ADDENDUM TO THE 2ND FACE

.

But in presenting this Mark of the Beast message in the Moon, God needed to illustrate this message with three beasts, instead of two.

.

This was a problem since there were only two beast faces and one face of a man (the “night watchman”).

.

And so, He took the 2nd face, the wolf-like Pride of Life Beast (top right), and designed it so that it could also appear as a swine (top left), the symbol of the Lust of the Flesh.

.

And so now we end up with three beasts, the wolf-like beast (top right), representing the Pride of Life, the forager creature (bottom right) representing the Lust of the Eyes, and this swine which represents the Lust of the Flesh (top left).

THE 1ST FACE: NIGHT-WATCHMAN

.

And of course, let’s not forget the 1st moon-face of a Watchman, representing the faithful and watchful Christian (picture left).

.

This 1st face of the Watchman is not a part of these other beast-like faces, and has nothing to do with the concept of the three basic sins of Mankind. Oh yes, this 1st face, which represents true Christians, likewise struggles against these three sins.

.

A SOMEWHAT COMPLEX MESSAGE

.

So now, this message inscribed on the Moon’s surface becomes even more intricate and somewhat more complex.

.

And so, when we stand back and look at these signs in the Moon, we begin to see a picture of the Church, with all her sins still intact!

.

And when the Moon is full, these various aspects are clearly and brightly exposed.

.

ONE-THIRD, TWO-THIRDS

.

And so, the next question is, why did the Lord use the Moon to be an object lesson concerning the Mark of the Beast?

.

For one thing, we can see that one-third of the three obvious faces in the Moon portrays a human face of a watchman symbolizing the watchfulness which must be present in a Christian’s life to maintain a healthy relationship with Christ.

.

And because the other two faces (the wolf and the rodent) portray animals or beasts, this gives us a one-third, two-third ratio. And the decimal of two-thirds is .666666666…

.

Thus, when Revelation 13 reveals the beast’s number, it is 666, it seems to correspond with the following passage…

“And it shall come to pass,

that in all the land, saith the LORD,

two parts therein shall be cut off and die;

but the third shall be left therein.

And I will bring the third part through the fire,

and will refine them as silver is refined, a

nd will try them as gold is tried:

they shall call on My name, and I will hear them:

I will say, It is My people:

and they shall say, The LORD is my God.”

Zechariah 13:8, 9

.

So here we see this same one-third, two-third concept in Zechariah. One-third representing those who are saved, and two-thirds who are lost!

OTHER MANIFESTATIONS OF 666

.

Now this number 666 has several different other manifestations in Scripture.

.

And so, this one-third, two-thirds concept is just one of several other ways in which the number of the Beast is seen.

.

But it is important enough, that the Lord inscribed this concept onto the Moon’s surface!

.

THREE BASIC SINS

.

So then, considering these three basic sins etched into the Moon, these three basic sins of Mankind take us all the way back to Eve’s original sins in the Garden! And they show up again in the three temptations of Jesus in the wilderness. And the Apostle John repeats them once again in his 1st Epistle.

.

But John magnifies them greatly, saying,

“For all that is in the world,

the lust of the flesh,

and the lust of the eyes,

and the pride of life,

is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

1st John 2:16

.

Here in 1st John is revealed what this present sinful world is all about! The lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, and the pride of life!

.

Thus, it now becomes much more clear just what is the Mark of the Beast! All those who have the world in their heart, have the Mark, or the number of the Beast in their heart!

GOOD NEWS!

.

Now, the really Good News is, that God in His great mercy has allowed just enough time for us to get this selfish world out of our heart! Yes, for those who want to live forever, the door of mercy is still open! And anyone who will, is invited to call upon the Name of the Lord. And by clinging to His divine mercy and grace, deliverance from this evil world, into the kingdom of His dear Son may be realized and is assured.

.

And once God gives us power to read His Word, and replace all those worldly ideas and philosophies with the words of life, thus will the heart of the Believer be, day-by-day, more-and-more transformed into the heart of Jesus! And instead of having these three beasts in his or her heart, the Believer will be represented by the 1st Face, the face of the Christian Watchman!

THE SWINE: “LUST OF THE FLESH”

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1st John 2:16

This article will introduce this third beast-like face, inscribed in the Moon: a swine. And it will be shown that the three beast-like faces in the Moon, represent the concept taught in the above verse concerning “the lust of the flesh…the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”.

It has become apparent that the second face in the Moon, besides appearing as a wolf-like beast, also appears as a Swine. Let’s explore this concept, for a moment. First of all, when a person sees the second face up in the sky, it’s arguable whether or not it looks like a swine. But it must be conceded that the photos do indeed make it appear as if this character has a “sawed-off” snout like a swine. And of course, a swine is spoken of quite frequently in Scripture.

except there come a falling away first,

and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Now here above is seen that two things must first occur, prior to the Day of Christ: “a falling away first” (an apostasy), and the “man of sin be revealed…that he as God sits in the temple of God”.

**So just what is “a falling away”?**

And also, the words, “falling away” in Strong’s Concordance are actually defined as an “apostasy”, or *“a forsaking”. (see Acts 21:21 & Luke 14:33**, concerning the word, “forsake”, which is the* same word in the Greek as “falling away” in 2nd Thessalonians 2:3)
