“How To Raise Up Little Hybrid ‘Shiglets!'”

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers:

for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?

and what communion hath light with darkness?

And what concord hath Christ with Belial?

or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?

for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said,

‘I will dwell in them, and walk in them;

and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.’

Have you ever seen a “Shiglet”?

.

Well, simply put, a Shiglet is merely a make-believe, allegorical creature, which is half baby sheep and half baby pig.

.

But in reality, this is how many poor children are growing up, to a great extent: half the world’s, and with a half-hearted attempt to serve Jesus!

.

In Part 1 of “How To Raise Up Good Little Hybrid Shiglets” (click here), the subject of raising children to attempt to serve Jesus, and yet allowing them to become indoctrinated by Satan’s world-system, will only cause them to grow up loving the world, while making a feeble attempt at serving Jesus.

.

Well, of course, such a double-minded upbringing will never succeed on behalf of Heaven.

.

As Jesus so aptly says…“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24

.

RELIGIOUS/WORLDLY ENTERTAINMENT

.

There are many quasi-Christian publications for children today. And these come in the form of TV shows, cartoons, books, CD’s, and other multi-media publications.

.

The problem with most of these is that they attempt to appeal to the children from a worldly vantage-point.

.

In other words, the producers of these children’s ministries assume that the only way to reach worldly children is by co-mingling the Gospel with the common elements of the world.

.

WORLDLINESS WITH A THIN CLOAK OF RELIGIOSITY

.

For example, one “Christian” movie might be based on a sports theme, in which the focus of sports is salted with elements of Christianity.

.

Or another Christian movie might be centered around some Christian aspiring to succeed in a high-powered career, having to rely on Jesus, to ultimately achieve his or her earthly dream.

.

Another example might be a cartoon episode in which some Bible story has been updated with the trendy music, and the fashionable lingo of today’s world, and with joking and jesting and other types of worldly behavior, sprinkled throughout.

USING NATURAL MAN’S WORLDLY WISDOM: “Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic”

James 3:15

.

Now to the “natural man”, all this seems to be a reasonable way to reach today’s savvy and streetwise kids.

.

And the great hope of parents is, that by combining the worldly with the heavenly, they can hopefully inspire their interest in Salvation, instead of boring them with the purity and holiness of the Bible.

.

GOD WARNS AGAINST USING HUMAN WISDOM

.

Well, the Lord understands our great consternation for our children’s Salvation.

.

But the Bible often warns us against employing such human efforts to attempt to win our children over to Christ.

.

**So many times, and in so many ways, the Bible repeats its warnings against compromising the purity of the Gospel with the “beggarly elements” of the world.**

.

MINGLING HOLY THINGS WITH COMMON

.

For instance, the Bible comes right out and says… “Her priests have violated My law, and have profaned Mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane (common, frivolous, worthless), neither have they showed difference between the unclean and the clean…” Ezekiel 22:26

.

Here is just one passage which presents this truth concerning mingling common things with sacred things.

.

REMOVE THE VILE FROM THE PRECIOUS!

.

In Jeremiah 15:19, God repeats this law by saying to His prophet, Jeremiah…“Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before Me: and if thou take forth the precious from the vile (vain or worthless), thou shalt be as My mouth: let them (the apostate congregation) return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.”

.

We must not allow these Old English words to confuse us. The word “vile” can easily be translated, “worthless”, or “frivolous”.

.

And even though many of today’s poorer translations translate this above command as if God is only concerned with Jeremiah’s words, this King James Version correctly translates this passage to warn Jeremiah against mingling common (vile) things with holy things, and clean things with unclean things.

THE SWINE: “LUST OF THE FLESH”

“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” 1st John 2:16

This article will introduce this third beast-like face, inscribed in the Moon: a swine. And it will be shown that the three beast-like faces in the Moon, represent the concept taught in the above verse concerning “the lust of the flesh…the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life”.

It has become apparent that the second face in the Moon, besides appearing as a wolf-like beast, also appears as a Swine. Let’s explore this concept, for a moment. First of all, when a person sees the second face up in the sky, it’s arguable whether or not it looks like a swine. But it must be conceded that the photos do indeed make it appear as if this character has a “sawed-off” snout like a swine. And of course, a swine is spoken of quite frequently in Scripture.

“GRACE ABOUNDING TO THE CHIEF OF SINNERS”

John Bunyan, the author of the earth-shaking allegorical tale, “Pilgrim’s Progress”, seems to have caught the essence of the meaning behind clean and unclean beasts. He saw why God made a distinction based on the feet as well as the diet of these beasts, as stated in the following Bible verse…

.

“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth… Nevertheless… the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.” Leviticus 11:2,4,7

.

Why did God makes the feet and the diet of the beasts of the earth the criterion for this distinction between clean and unclean beasts? How odd!

“The Devil’s Detours!”

“And take heed to yourselves,

lest at any time your hearts be overcharged

with surfeiting, and drunkenness,

and cares of this life,

and so that day come upon you unawares.

For as a snare shall it come on all them

that dwell on the face of the whole earth.”

Luke 21:34, 35

This above passage from Luke’s Gospel is a stern warning to all Christians, to not allow the everyday things of the world to begin to take precedence over the things of Heaven.

“THE MAN OF GOD & THE OLD PROPHET”

.

**There is a very unnerving story found in 1st Kings, Chapter 13, regarding the “man of God” who came to the town of Bethel and prophesied against the apostasy amongst God’s people.**

.

And the man of God was warned expressly, “Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.” 1st Kings 13:9

.

“BRING HIM BACK!”

.

But on his way back home, an “old prophet” came to him and persuaded the man of God, by telling him a lie…“an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD”‘, said the old prophet, “saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water.'” 1st Kings 13:18

.

And so, the man of God went back with the old prophet, to eat and drink with him.

“A LION MET HIM BY THE WAY”

But in the midst of the meal, the old prophet prophesied to the man of God, saying, “Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee…thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.” 1st Kings 13:21, 22

.

Well, after the man of God left the old prophet’s home, a lion met the man of God, and killed him.

NOT TO GET TOO SETTLED IN THIS WORLD!

Now contrary to popular opinion, all those “musty” Old Testament stories are as up-to-date and as relevant as today’s newspaper!

.

And this one is no exception!

.

You see, we too have been commanded by God to proclaim Salvation to this lost and dying world.

.

And God has given us ample warning against getting too settled down in this world.

.

**We are called to become, “strangers and pilgrims”, traveling through this foreign land!**

.

He wants us to get ourselves up the Heavenward pathway and on to our eternal heavenly home!

.

HASTENING TO THE DAY!

.

The Apostle, Peter gives us a very solemn warning…“Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?” 2nd Peter 3:11, 12

.

Could there ever be a more fearful warning than this one by Peter?

.

DEVIL’S PURPOSE TO DIVERT!

.

Yes, it is the first and foremost commission of God and His angels to help Christians get themselves to their heavenly home without delay.

.

**But it is “the god of this world’s” great purpose to divert Christians from such a single-minded mission, by any means possible!**

TO BE WATCHMEN

.

And so, each and every Christian must be “sober and vigilant”!

.

Yes, as Peter warns in 1st Peter 5:8…“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

.

And just as that man of God was killed by the lion who met him on his way back home, so too, Satan now comes, “as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour!”

.

MANY DIVERSIONS & DETOURS!

.

And so, we must be alert to the dangers on every hand: road-blocks and detours that the Devil and his angels cast along the way, to divert us from our heaven-bound sojourn, and back into the world!

.

Yes, just like the “man of god’s” meal with the “old prophet”, so too, Satan tries hard to get us to turn back and take our ease, and eat, and drink, and enjoy some of the more “innocent” pleasures of this world.

.

These devilish detours come in the form of such things as television, secular radio, newspapers, magazines, novels, clubs, social gatherings, plays, sports, homes & gardens, pleasure vehicles, hobbies, sight-seeing excursions, politics, energy-sapping-time-consuming-careers, and a variety of other similar worldly pleasures and pursuits!

A WORLD OF SELFISH DESIRES!

Yes, the Devil has given this old world a complete make-over, turning it into somewhat of a theme-park of selfish pleasures, and proud, ambitious pursuits!

And there are so many intriguing and exciting things provided: empires to build, mountains to conquer, islands to discover, treasures to uncover, theories to explore, careers to pursue, romances to embrace, abilities to perfect, projects to finish, curiosities to intrigue, friends to meet, novels to read, dramas to captivate, singers to encore, pleasures to enthrall, engagements to attend, appointments to keep, malls to wander, holidays to prepare, restaurants to frequent, games to play, teams to support, things to buy, things to sell, and on and on and on the list goes!

AS LAMBS TO THE SLAUGHTER!

And what is the Devil’s goal in providing all these interesting diversions and ambitious pursuits?

To keep us so busy that we lose our watchful vigilance?

.

Oh yes, and to keep us so focused on, and preoccupied with these earthly pursuits, that we, unknowingly, pass beyond our appointed time of probation: even as the proverbial “lambs led to the slaughter!”

SATAN VERY PROACTIVE!

.

Now, perhaps, engaging in “a little” of these more benign pursuits might not be so bad.

.

The problem is, as far as Satan is concerned, “a little” is never enough!

.

Yes, don’t imagine for a moment that once Satan has strewn his deceptive entrapments in our pathway that he just sits idly by to see what we will do with them!

.

No, Satan and his vast legions of evil-angels are extremely proactive, working 24/7/365 to ensnare the world (and especially God’s people), in as many of those time-consuming, energy-sapping, Spirit-quenching entanglements as possible!

.

And we must not be so naive as to think that Satan cannot inspire, intrigue, excite, and obsess Christians who go after these earthly endeavors! Those who go after these pleasures, treasures and ambitious pursuits will quite often become hopelessly obsessed with these gratifications, unaware that the invisible powers of darkness are at work in their minds! (see Ephesians 2:2)

STUDY, PRAY & MEDITATE

And so, each and every day, we must pray, and study and contemplate God’s Word!

We must hourly plead with the Lord to keep us from losing our watchful edge!

If ever there was a time for Christians to enjoy the world, this is NOT that time!

THE 1ST FACE IN THE MOON: “THE NIGHT WATCHMAN”

“Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me… for I have seen violence and strife in the city…mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it. Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.” Psalm 55:5-11

Doesn’t this above passage seem to have special meaning today, with so much wickedness going on in today’s world? But this above verse by David is speaking of the sinfulness among God’s people! This “Man in the Moon” is a fitting symbol of the watchfulness that we must have in order to resist the sin and deception that assails God’s Church…from without and from within… “Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.” Psalms 141:3, 4.

.

But this night watchman does not keep silent. No, he cries to the Lord over the atrocities he must witness each night… “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence.” Isaiah 62:6.

.

So too, this 1st-face appears as if to, “sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof (of God’s City, Jerusalem).” Ezekiel 9:4

.

“Is Jesus Watching Souls Tormented in Hell!?!”

“he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone

in the presence of the holy angels,

and in the presence of the Lamb:

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up

for ever and ever:

and they have no rest day nor night,

who worship the beast and his image,

and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”

Is this above Bible passage true?

.

Does the Lamb of God, Jesus, actually spend all eternity watching lost souls being tormented in Hell?

.

WATCHING SUFFERING SOULS?

.

And do His holy angels likewise spend all eternity, standing side-by-side along with Jesus together, also watching those suffering souls screaming for mercy: witnessing those lost souls pleading with the ever-watching Savior who has no more mercy for their endless suffering throughout all the ions of time and eternity, not even giving them one tiny drop of water!?

.

IN THE PRESENCE OF HOLY ANGELS & LAMB

After all, it says, “he (with Beast’s mark) shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” Revelation 14:10

.

So this verse plainly reveals that the holy angels and the Lamb will be witnessing all this torment.

.

JESUS & ANGELS VIEW TORMENT THROUGH ETERNITY?

.

And if the proponents of the Eternal Torment church-doctrine are correct, this means that the holy angels get to spend all eternity in some hellish viewing gallery, witnessing all the endless torment!

.

Correct?

.

Or should we wrestle away what this verse says, in attempt to dismiss the holy angels from an eternity of watching billions of souls endlessly suffering and screaming for mercy?

.

Well, this is just one more reason why so-called, “Eternal Torment”, does not harmonize with the Bible, nor does it agree with God’s character, as revealed in the Bible!

.

NO ATTEMPT TO RE-EXAMINE BELIEFS

.

Well, these are just a few of the “loose ends” to this church-doctrine often referred to as, “Eternal Torment”.

.

In other words, the various denominations who still hold tenaciously to this old Catholic doctrine, have never bothered to harmonize all the many other Bible verses which totally contradict the few passages which by themselves seem to assert that “Eternal Torment” of lost souls, is indeed what the Bible teaches!

.

They simply have not done their due diligence!

.

To say it another way, today’s church community is self-satisfied with this archaic church-doctrine, and has no desire to re-examine it in the light of the many conflicting Bible passages which teach just the opposite: that Hell is merely, “the grave”.

.

SCRIPTURAL HARMONY MUST BE ACHIEVED

Now, this website has explored many of those passages.

.

And there is no shortage of conflicting passages, which refute the notion of Eternal Torment.

.

And these must also be considered when attempting to come up with this Eternal Torment idea. They must be harmonized somehow.

Yes, the Bible is its own police force, in the sense that it has been written by God to correct all false doctrines.

And only by prayerfully and carefully comparing every scripture which deals with any particular church-doctrine, can truth be arrived at.

.

HOLY ANGELS YES, REDEEMED ONES, NO?

.

Now today’s devotional is focusing on this Revelation 14 passage which reveals that those suffering ones are being tormented night & day, “in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb.”

.

And the question that must be asked and answered is this: “Are we really to believe that The Lamb & His holy angels will be overseeing this chamber of horrors throughout eternity? And if they will be there throughout eternity, where will we be? Locked out? Forbidden to enter, so that we cannot even visit our friends and relatives for a few moments, before we return to our blissful existence in Paradise?”

.

GETS EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS!

.

Well, needless to say, this whole crazy notion of Eternal Torment is so ridiculous, that it’s a wonder that the church-community still clings to it!

.

Can you just imagine for a moment, that Jesus and His holy angels will be spending all eternity in the presence of all those billions of souls who rejected Salvation, watching them intensely suffer, begging for just one little drop of water!?

.

That’s right! When a Bible student actually examines each and every Bible passage which adds more context to that Rich Man & Lazarus parable, the more impossible that this old catholic doctrine becomes!

.

Why, it’s possible that even the Catholic Church no longer teaches this, their own archaic doctrine!

.

“THE LAND OF FORGETFULNESS”

.

Now just one more Bible passage which lays to rest this old church-doctrine is found in Psalm 88…“I am counted with them that go down into the pit…Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom Thou (God) rememberest no more: and they are cut off from Thy hand. Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps…Wilt Thou show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise Thee? Selah. Shall thy lovingkindness be declared in the grave? or Thy faithfulness in destruction? Shall Thy wonders be known in the dark? and Thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?” Psalm 88:4-6, 10-12 6

Now here is a passage you may never hear in an “Eternal Torment” Bible study! And why will you never hear it? Because it directly contradicts the idea that “The holy angels and the Lamb” will be watching this so-called Eternal Torment throughout eternity!

.

In other words, Psalm 88 here says that the Lord “remembers no more”, those in “Sheol” (the Hebrew word, Sheol, is translated “Hell” or “The Grave” in this passage). And again in verse 12, Sheol, “the grave”, is called, “the land of forgetfulness”.

ETERNAL TORMENT IMPOSSIBLE IDEA!

.

And so, when trying to understand what Revelation 14 is talking about, it cannot be speaking of Eternal Torment! After all, Eternal Torment could never be considered “the land of forgetfulness”!

.

Because, how could Jesus and His holy angels be watching all such torment throughout eternity, ever harmonize with Psalm 88 which calls it, “the land of forgetfulness”?

.

And so, this Psalm 88/Revelation 14 connection, is just one more proverbial “nail in the coffin” of this old church-doctrine known as Eternal Torment.

.

And along with all the other contradictions found in scripture, Revelation Chapter 14 has to be speaking of something else other than Eternal Torment!

.

GOOD NEWS!

.

Well, the Good News is, that Eternal Torment may remain a much-loved church-doctrine within the apostate church-world.

.

But it has nothing to do with the Bible!

.

And all those who love Bible truth more than they love their church and its pet doctrines, will rejoice to discover that Jesus does not eternally torment all those who rejected His love!

.

THE ‘LAND’ OF FORGETFULNESS?

Now, just one last question: “Why does God call Hell (Sheol), the “LAND” of forgetfulness?”

.

This does seem to agree with the Eternal Torment doctrine. After all, if Hell is a land, then perhaps it is a place of conscious existence!

.

“The Fountain of False Christianity!”

with all power and signs and lying wonders,

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness

in them that perish;

because they received not the love of the truth,

that they might be saved.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,

that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth,

but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

“I love You Jesus! I worship You O Mighty God! And I will praise Your name forever!”

Have you ever heard these lyrics? Or perhaps some similar praise song?

Well, such a positive affirmation as this is really common these days! Yes, in today’s church-world, there is a seemingly endless flow of such praise songs coming out of today’s Gospel-Music-Machinery!

And because of all the popular praise songs being churned out today, one might begin to assume that there’s a whole lot of “on-fire” Christians out there!

.

TRUE OR COUNTERFEIT?

But is that the true condition of today’s church community?

Is the current wave of enthusiasm observed today the real thing?

Or is it merely a satanic counterfeit?

TWO RULING SPIRITS IN THE WORLD

.

In yesterday’s devotional (click here), it was pointed out that there are two sources of pleasure in the world: the “Holy Spirit” and the “spirit of the world.”

.

These are the two ruling spirits in the world.

.

And either we are of one spirit or the other. There is no neutral ground in this world!

.

And with only two classes, one might get the idea that it would be easy to distinguish between just which is which.

.

After all, those who attend church would comprise the class who are indwelt by the Holy Spirit.

.

And all the world’s citizens, who make no profession of being Christians are indwelt by the spirit of the world, the Antichrist spirit.

.

ANGEL OF LIGHT & MINISTERS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

.

**Unfortunately, Satan, who was long ago given sovereignty over this world, now called, “the god of this world”, has “muddied the waters”, as the saying goes.**

.

Yes, the Kingdom of God is the arch-enemy of Satan! And it is Satan’s obsession to do heavy damage to that heavenly kingdom.

.

And he has discovered long ago, the best way to destroy a kingdom is to infiltrate that kingdom with his own people, pretending to be “loyal” citizens of that kingdom.

.

Listen to 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15…“For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

.

So here it is! This is God’s concise way of describing Satan’s modus-operandi in his effort to infiltrate and destroy as many of God’s professed people as possible.

1 EVIL SPIRIT OR 7?

.

When speaking to the Pharisees, Jesus made this very incredible revelation…“When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.” Matthew 12:43-45

.

Now Jesus here was speaking in allegorical language. But the meaning of this is rather easy to understand.

BETTER TO BE AN ABJECT UNBELIEVER!

.

In essence, Jesus was speaking to some very morally correct men, telling them that their morality was nothing more than a devilish deception. It would be better to have been some drunkard lying in the gutter with only 1 evil spirit, than to become a “morally correct” deceiver within the Church, with 7+1 evils spirits instead of just 1.

.

In other words, the number “7” represents “religious spirits”. It was not that they actually have 7+1 literal evil spirits.

.

So, the bottom line is, that the morally correct ones in the Church may just be indwelt by Satan who comes as, “an angel of light”.

.

GOOD NEWS!

.

Well, the Good News here is found in the little account of Nicodemus, a ruler of the Pharisee sect. Here was a man who was highly revered by the entire community. And yet, he had been living a lie. His morality was little more than a complete sham!

.

But Nicodemus came to inquire of Jesus. And by so-doing, Nicodemus eventually turned from his false morality, and became indwelt by God’s Holy Spirit, now a saved man!

.

And this same opportunity is available to each and every individual who realizes his or her spiritual bankruptcy, and comes to the Savior for Salvation!

.

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!

.

Listen again to Joel…“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible Day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered:” Joel 2:31, 32

.

This is a wonderful promise of Salvation for all those who are now standing on the threshold of eternity!

The Two Spirits In The World,

Part 3:

“The Two Fountains of Pleasures!”

“Therefore my heart is glad,

and my glory rejoiceth (in God)…

in Thy presence is fulness of joy;

at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore…

and with honey out of the Rock

should I have satisfied thee.”

“Oh no, I don’t wanna be a Christian! It’s just too boring, having to give up all those fun things”

.

Have you ever heard this objection to Christianity, raised by some person?

.

Well, this is a common response to the invitation to become a Christian and follower of Jesus.

.

But is it a true objection? Is the Christian life really so austere and stark?

.

Well, perhaps this question should be examined, to see if there is any validity to such a bleak and disparaging view of Christianity.

.

TWO SPIRITS IN THE WORLD

.

In Part 1 of this series on “The Two Spirits in the World” (click here), it was established that there are two ruling spirits in the world: “The Spirit of Truth”, and “the spirit of error”.

.

One Spirit is ruled from Heaven, while the other is ruled from Hell (“Hell” being, not only “the grave”, but also the spiritual darkness of this world).

.

And so, either you are indwelt by one spirit or the other.

.

There’s no third alternative!

.

There’s no neutral ground in this world!

.

You are either indwelt by the Spirit of God, or you are indwelt by, “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:” Ephesians 2:2

.

TWO FOUNTAINS OF PLEASURE

.

Now, to get right to the point of this devotional, a human derives his or her pleasures from one or another of those spirits.

.

Those who are indwelt by the spirit of the world, derive their pleasures in life from that Antichrist spirit.

.

And those who are indwelt by the Spirit of Heaven, derive their pleasures in life from the “Spirit of Christ”.

.

CHRISTIANITY, THE SAVOR OF DEATH

.

And so, it would be absurd to imagine that the people of the world could ever enjoy the pleasures of Heaven: Bible study, contemplation of the Bible, unceasing prayer, fellowship with other Believers, heavenly works of faith, etc…

.

As a matter of fact, being under the control of Satan’s spirit, the mere thought of giving up the selfish pleasures of this life in trade for the aforementioned pleasures of Heaven, would be the “savor of death unto death”, as 2nd Corinthians 2:16 puts it! (Oh yes, false brethren in the Church do seem to enjoy such endeavors, and so this becomes very confusing to true Believers)

SATAN TEMPTS US TO DRINK OF HIS FOUNTAIN

.

But those who are infilled with God’s Spirit must always be vigilant not to allow the spirit of Satan to tempt them with the selfish pleasures of Hell (“Hell” being, not only “the grave”, but also the spiritual darkness of this fallen world).

.

Yes, Satan can make the selfish pleasures of this world seem pretty fun and oh-so-enjoyable, isn’t it true? But in addition to the miserable pleasures of sin comes alot of unrest, confusion, fear, and a host of other similar unhappy aspects.

“NO HEART TO HEAR IT?”

And so, the bottom line is, we must always be cognizant of the fact that the people of this world are not going to get overjoyed to hear you or I talk about how wonderful is the Christian life.

Most always, the spirit within them will cause them to become repulsed at what we’re telling them!

.

This is why so few people truly turn to Christ.

Come Out of Her, My People!

.

Part 46:

“How The Grinch Invented Christmas!”

“I know that, whatsoever God does,

it shall be for ever:

nothing can be put to it,

nor any thing taken from it:

and God does it,

that men should fear before Him.”

Ecclesiastes 3:14

“(God) Give us help from trouble:

for vain is the help of man.”

Psalm 60:11

.

A certain radio personality was asked if Christians should celebrate Christmas, since there is no biblical injunction to do so.

.

And in response, this erring individual gave a scathing and mocking rebuke against anyone who should attempt to correct other Christians regarding that man-made yearly holiday.

.

And the radio personality went on to tell of the many benefits connected with the celebration of that holiday.

.

NOT TO ADD TO GOD’S FINISHED WORKS!

But what that radio personality is forgetting, is that a huge part of obedience to God, is to live by every Word of God, but to also keep from going beyond God’s infallible Word.

.

These two above verses together present a huge truth, which a Christian must not overlook, if he or she is ever going to come completely out of Babylon!

We must understand that any attempt to “help God out”, is ultimately going to, not only fail, but actually increase the wickedness in this, the Devil’s world!

But we must not forget that this world is ruled over by “the god of this world”, Lucifer, now called, “Satan”. (see 2nd Corinthians 4:4)

No true good can ever come from mere human effort! No actual benefit can ever be achieved by our vain attempts to, “help God out”!

MAN’S WORKS ARE VAIN, EVEN WICKED!

MANKIND’S BEST STATE: VANITY!

Now listen to God’s assessment of mankind, “…verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.” Psalm 39:5

And so, this verse reveals that man’s BEST STATE is vanity (worthless).

But it only goes downhill from there!

Yes, we are informed in 1st John 5:19…“And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.”

**Here is where mankind’s best state of vanity (worthlessness) descends into complete and utter condition of wickedness!**

BRINGS IN LOST SHEEP?

Oh yes, the advocates for this non-biblical, “Holy Day”, are quick to defend it by saying, “Christmas is a great advertisement for Jesus and His Gospel, as the entire world hears about Jesus during each month of December!”

And they continue, “And Christmas is a great way to get some unbelievers and former, backslidden church-members to return once again to church during that holiday time!”

.

ONLY INCREASES CHURCH APOSTASY?

But these unbiblical holidays, along with various other compromising additions to the purity of the Gospel have been responsible for many false brethren being brought into the Church, over the decades.

Yes, by compromising the purity of the Gospel, Satan has paved the way for many Antichrist deceivers to enter into the now, “fun” churches, thus plunging Christianity down into further declension, apostasy, and ultimate ruin!

LONELY TIME FOR MANY!

And let’s not forget that besides being a great occasion for families to get together, Christmas is also a sad time for many lonely individuals.

To many lonely souls, Christmas is like a giant party that they weren’t invited to!

.

Some even resort to suicide!

.

And even after the Christmas holiday is past, followed by the bleak month of January, often creating such a let-down for many persons, sometimes even resulting in suicides!

.

And with all the expense of that holiday, many families suffer financial troubles as a result!

.

And this also is a contributing factor to many suicides, some months later, as the financial situation keeps worsening.

.

And so, the true worshiper of God can use these sad and hopeless times, to encourage such suffering ones to look up and live through Christ’s great sacrifice for humanity!

REVELATION 12 WOMAN CONSTELLATION

[CONTINUED]…But one of the great reasons for telling them this parable, was because Jesus was turning the tables on those self-righteous Pharisees, by having the rich man in Hell, while the poor, sick, Lazarus in the blissfulness in Heaven!

.

This was just the opposite of what those misguided Pharisees believed.

.

Yes, the Bible reveals that, “…the Pharisees…were covetous,” Luke 16:15. And so, amongst the Pharisees, the prosperity-driven gospel was alive and well, all the way back in Jesus’ days on Earth!

PAUL, ON TODAY’S PROSPERITY GOSPELS

Now listen to Paul’s commentary on the current prosperity-driven gospels of this very day in which we now live, “…Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content…” 1st Timothy 6:5-8

.

Paul makes a clear and concise declaration in this above passage. And this is perhaps, the most ignored passage by many, or most New Testament Christians today!

PROSPERITY-DRIVEN GOSPELS!

Yes, Paul was speaking to us today, when he prophesied that there will be those among us too, who will likewise, “suppose that gain is godliness.” 1st Timothy 6:5

.

In other words, the spirit of phariseeism is alive and well in today’s church-world.

.

And not only in those, “whacky and crazy prosperity-driven gospels over there.”

.

**But even in the so-called, “conservative” churches, a prosperity-driven gospel now thrives under the banner of “The Entrepreneurial Spirit”, or perhaps, even, “The American Dream”.**

.

Either way, “conservative” or “liberal”, most every congregation currently teaches, either by word or by example, that “gain is godliness”.

(Oh yes, these prosperity ideologies may be fine for the people of the world to pursue, but the Christian’s great focus and chief desire is now to be Heavenward, seeking to be transformed into the image of Christ.)

COLD, HEARTLESS PHARISEEISM

And so, it is no wonder that this pharisean doctrine of “Eternal Torment” is still thriving in today’s church-world!

Because the very progenitor of that false doctrine of phariseeism is thriving in today’s church-world.

And just like those Pharisees of old, today’s Pharisees look down on the poor and unfortunate ones in society: any soul who is a modern-day Lazarus!

BEGGARS NOW DESPISED

For example, when an unfortunate street-person is begging for a dollar, we often pass them by and scornfully excuse ourselves by figuring, “They’ll only spend my meager offering on alcohol or drugs!”

**Oh yes, we might even decide to toss them “a few crumbs”, like that rich man did with Lazarus!**

SUFFERING MAY COME

The fact is, many of those who insist on the unbiblical church-doctrine of “Eternal Torment”, are mostly in good health themselves, and have never experienced prolonged years of suffering.

.

If they did, perhaps they wouldn’t be so quick to enthusiastically endorse this archaic old catholic church-doctrine (which even the Catholics may no longer believe, by the way)!

.

SUFFERING CAUSES COMPASSION!

.

But sadly, many church-goers may begin to suffer intensely for one reason or another. Perhaps they will begin to suffer from some physical illness. Or maybe from some spiritual malady.

.

But whether physical or spiritual, we have this promise from God…“if so be that we suffer with Him (Christ), that we may be also glorified together. ” Romans 8:17

.

And these suffering ones will then learn by personal experience, that God is not the kind of God who would force lost souls to suffer day and night for all eternity! (This whole unthinkable Eternal Torment doctrine is so ridiculous that it’s an amazing wonder that any reasonably-thinking person could believe that God could actually be such a cruel, unmerciful monster who makes lost souls suffer throughout the ceaseless ages, with no hope of mercy!)

GOOD NEWS! NO NEED TO WAIT!

The Good News is that we don’t have to wait to get sick and suffer, in order to throw off our judgmental phariseeism!

.

Right now, the Lord is calling us to cast away our covetous idols of gold and silver, “to the moles and to the bats; To go into the clefts of the ragged rocks, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of His majesty, when He arises to shake terribly the earth.” Isaiah 2:20, 21

.

Yes, the hour is come when God’s people are to flee from the cold, heartless and judgmental phariseeism which pervades today’s church-world and even pervades our own heart, too!

.

And peradventure, should the Lord finally deliver us from that Antichrist spirit of cold and indifferent phariseeism, we may then begin to wake up to finally realize that this whole business of Eternal Torment is utter nonsense!

“THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

Listen to the following revelation concerning the evil which exists within the hearts of men…“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, AN EVIL EYE, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Mark 7:18-23

Please tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose. (Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

Do you see an angry look? His right eye-brow is raised as if he is judging.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn. Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad shock and awe; this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn. As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below.

Part 23:

“Doctrine of the Pharisees”

This above parable is merely a parable, in spite of popular opinion to the contrary.

.

The reason we know it’s a parable is because it’s an obvious exaggeration on just about every point.

.

For instance, where did the rich man get eyes in Hell?

.

So are we to suppose that lost souls in Hell have literal, physical bodies?

.

“ABRAHAM’S BOSOM”: A NETHERWORLD PARADISE!?!

.

But there are more absurdities in this parable!

.

For instance, why was Lazarus sitting in Father Abraham’s bosom? Ridiculous?

.

(Now there are those who try to skirt around this obvious nonsensical exaggeration, by saying Lazarus wasn’t actually sitting in Abraham’s bosom, but merely in a giant cavern called, “Abraham’s Bosom”. Oh really!?).

.

ONE TINY DROP!?!

.

Next, are we to believe that God withholds water from those who are suffering in flames of fire?

.

And are we to suppose that the rich man actually begged for one tiny drop of water!?

.

This must be a parabolic picture of someone begging for a tiny drop of MERCY.

.

IS ABRAHAM GOD!?!

.

And when the rich man begged “Father” Abraham for mercy, Abraham would in reality, have torn his clothes and swore to the rich man that he, Abraham, was not his father, nor was he the Giver of mercy, a gift that only our true heavenly Father can give to someone!

.

In other words, this Pharisee was speaking to Abraham as if he, Abraham, was Almighty God. And so, Abraham would never have answered back in the way he did to the rich man, allowing that rich man to remain under such a false, blasphemous notion.

.

But God put this obvious flaw into that parable to demonstrate the misguided thinking of the Pharisees of that day.

.

COMMUNICATION BETWEEN HEAVEN & HELL!?!

.

And it is a complete stretch of reality, to imagine that people in Hell can actually talk with people in Heaven!

.

The Bible says…“For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6

.

This above passage reveals the true state of those who lie in their grave.

.

Yes, this passage too, “is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” 2nd Timothy 3:16

.

THIS PARABLE MUST BE AN ALLEGORY

.

Well, if one spends time going through this parable, it might be soon concluded that it makes no literal sense for many other reasons.

.

You see, Jesus was purposely making the various components in that parable so ridiculous, that nobody but an unlearned teacher could make this parable to be anything more than just a mere parable which should only be understood allegorically.

.

And this parable must be interpreted spiritually and allegorically to make any real sense.

.

But these obvious flaws in the Parable of the Rich Man & Lazarus are not the focus of today’s devotional. No, there is another fact that gives this parable more contextual integrity.

SPOKEN TO PHARISEES

.

You see, Jesus was telling this parable to the sect of the “Pharisees”. And by using biblical logic and spiritual discernment, it is easy to understand that Jesus was, “turning the tables” on the Pharisees, as the saying goes.

.

The fact is, it was the Pharisees who decided that poor people and sick people must be under the curse of God (see John, Chapter 9). And because the Pharisees were affluent, they assumed that their morality and affluence was sufficient to gain entrance into Heaven!

PHARISEES CONCOCTED HELL!?!

.

**And the Pharisees were most likely the first ones to ever concoct some fiery netherworld torture chamber in hopes of frightening the unlearned general populace into submission.**

MISINTERPRETING ALLEGORIES

.

And truth-be-told, the Pharisees had founded their unbiblical doctrine on a misunderstanding of how to properly interpret various Old Testament references to God’s fiery judgments, supposing them to be speaking of literal fire in some giant netherworld cavern.

.

Like Pharisees in the Church today, those Old Testament Pharisees could not discern the spiritual nature of the Bible.

.

Listen…“Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” 1st Corinthians 2:13, 14

This above passage reveals that those who are yet in the flesh, and not in the Spirit cannot and will not see the spiritual nature of Scripture, whether they are in the world or in the Church.

TABLES WERE TURNED ON THE PHARISEES

.

But one of the great reasons for telling them this parable, was because Jesus was turning the tables on those Pharisees, by having the rich man in Hell, while the poor, sick, Lazarus in the blissfulness in Heaven! This was just the opposite of what those misguided Pharisees believed.

.

**Yes, the Bible reveals that, “…the Pharisees…were covetous,” Luke 16:15. And so, the prosperity-driven gospel was alive and well, all the way back in Jesus’ days on Earth.**

“THE SCORNER (THE PHARISEE)”

Listen to the following revelation concerning the evil which exists within the hearts of men…“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, AN EVIL EYE, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” Mark 7:18-23

Please tilt your head to the left. Do you see a man with a very long pointed nose. (Obviously, the sketch to the right is just an exaggeration in order to help you find the face in the photo to the left.)

Do you see an angry look? His right eye-brow is raised as if he is judging.

This second face in the Moon appears to be that of a combination of a man as well as a fox. Or maybe a wolf. Doesn’t he have a long narrow nose like a wolf or fox? Maybe even a dog. Nevertheless, the expression on his face, as he appears to look down upon the Earth, is that of scorn. Unlike the first Moon-man’s sad shock and awe; this ‘man/fox/wolf/dog’ appears to be that of anger and scorn. As if he is disgusted at the sinful planet below.

“The Goodly Horse In Battle: A Dog!?!”

Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue,

as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself…

but all the rest of the people bowed

down upon their knees to drink water…

By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you,

and deliver the Midianites into thine hand…

and let all the other people go…”

Judges 7:5, 7

If the readers will only, “look up and lift up your heads” (Luke 21:28), then you might have the joy of discovering this Goodly Horse In Battle Constellation in the winter-night sky (all the way into early spring.)

And as you behold it, it looks magnificent!

.

A DOG!?!

.

However, if the Reader sees this constellation on paper as a star-chart, it has a somewhat short body, almost giving it the appearance of a large dog!

Of all things…a DOG!?!

Now this is most embarrassing! After all, this constellation is supposed to be a magnificent horse in battle!

Well, maybe God just didn’t have enough space in the heavens, and so He had to shorten its body in order to squeeze it in?

First, listen to this passage…“and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself…but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water…By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand…and let all the other people go…” Judges 7:5, 7

Here above is a passage which totally explains why God uses a dog’s lapping up water to represent those worthy to be His army in battle. In other words, God wasn’t going to use just anyone!

THE LOWLY CANINE

No, God wanted only those who saw themselves in a lowly light…as dogs! And if any of the readers have dogs, one common aspect which most of us have observed: the dog is a loyal, lowly, and humble follower of his master!

A dog knows who his master is. And even if you hit your dog, he still grovels at your feet, wanting forgiveness.

Well, this is, more often than not, the common behavior of most dogs.

THE CHIEF OF SINNERS

Listen to the Apostle, Paul…“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1st Timothy 1:15

Here above, that great and highly regarded Apostle, Paul, considers himself to be the chief of sinners!

He regards himself as the lowest of the low!

.

And he says…“For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing:” Romans 7:18

.

THE HUMAN HEART: A BOTTOMLESS PIT!

Yes, Paul realized that what Jeremiah said was true…“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jeremiah 17:9

Paul well understood that his own heart was a bottomless pit of sin and rebellion!

.

And only the grace of God kept him from falling back into that bottomless pit!

.

He had already been a chief persecutor of Christians, and he never ever wanted to return back into his old life!

WORTHY OF ALL ACCEPTANCE!

But let’s not pass over what Paul said about you and me!

Listen again…“This is a faithful saying, AND WORTHY OF ALL ACCEPTATION, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1st Timothy 1:15

.

Yes, we too can give this same testimony! We too, can likewise say, “that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.” 1st Timothy 1:15

WE TOO ARE DESPERATELY WICKED!

.

Yes, both you and myself likewise have a heart that is, “deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.”

.

We too have a bottomless pit of wickedness.

.

And it is only the grace of God that keeps the lid on that bottomless pit! It is only the mercy of Jesus that keeps you and I from falling back into our old life of sin!

.

And no, most of us have never murdered anyone. But a desperately wicked heart is capable of anything!

A COMMON LOWLY DOG? US?

And so, those Christians who truly understand the depths of wickedness in their own wicked heart, fully understand that they are no better than a dog!

And with such a lowly self-estimation, they willingly lower their self-appraisal to that of a common, lowly dog!

.

But God returns His own appraisal by saying, “Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.” James 4:9, 10

.

Here in this picture, we see David in full repentance after his great sin. And this should likewise be our humble stance before God, for our sins!

JESUS ALSO LOWERED HIMSELF

Yes, even our Lord Jesus lowered Himself from equality with the Godhead, to become the lowest of the lowest of sinners on our behalf.

And yet, by so-doing, “God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11

And so, you see, lowering ourselves to a mere, lowly, dog-status, isn’t such a bad thing! Because, by so-doing, it is written…“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time:” 1st Peter 5:6

“Arise and thresh, O daughter of Zion: for I will make thine horn iron, and I will make thy hoofs brass: and thou shalt beat in pieces many people: and I will consecrate their gain unto the LORD, and their substance unto the Lord of the whole earth.” Micah 4:13

THIS STAR-CHART: Notice how the right front hoof is trampling on the tail of the Dragon. Also notice his eye is a star.

It’s best seen when in the western half of the sky. It is found in mid-sky traveling from east to west. In January, it is in the west after midnight. As winter progresses, it can be seen earlier and earlier in the evening. a dark sky with good star-visibility is best, but not absolutely necessary to see this constellation.

It is found on the opposite side of the Dragon Constellation from Orion. And as already stated, this Glorious Horse Constellation can be seen best in mid-winter when it is in the western side of the sky, and you are looking at it while you are facing west.

.

**The nose and head of this horse is partly made from the Perseus Constellation.**

.

**The tail and rear end is partly of the Cassiopeia Constellation. The hind-leg is made partly of stars from the Andromeda Constellation.**

Strong Delusion In Scripture,

Part 8:

“The 7 Stars of Revelation: the Church?”

“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,

that they should believe a lie:

That they all might be damned who believed not the truth,

but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”

2nd Thessalonians 2:11, 12

.

**Those who attempt to interpret the Bible as literally as possible, will undoubtedly, “stumble at the Word”, in many places.**

.

And the Book of Revelation is no exception!

.

THE FALSE HERMENEUTIC

.

The fact is, the leaders of the Church have successfully locked out most church-goers from much of the Bible, via a false, unbiblical hermeneutic, commonly referred to as the “literal grammatical historical interpretation”, which insists on finding only a literal meaning of any scripture unless context demands a spiritual interpretation. (see Isaiah 3:12)

.

Of course, this false hermeneutic is found nowhere in Scripture, and is merely the invention of unsanctified human minds (with the help of Satan, of course).

.

“I WILL OPEN MY MOUTH IN PARABLES”

Matthew 13:35

.

The fact is, Jesus Himself tells us…“And He (Jesus) said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.” Luke 8:10

.

Those who hold to the unbiblical hermeneutic of literal interpretation cannot appreciate what Jesus is saying here in Luke 8:10. Because, they try hard to only find a literal interpretation for any Bible verse, when in fact, many Bible verses are actually spiritual truths, howbeit, veiled in allegories, types, shadows, and parables.

“WOE UNTO YOU, YE BLIND GUIDES!”

Matthew 23:16

.

Thus, the vast majority of church-goers are locked out of much of the Bible, including the Book of Revelation, for the simple reason that much of the Bible (including Revelation), has been written in types, shadows, symbols, allegories, and parables.

.

REVELATION NOT FOR THE CHURCH!?!

.

As a matter of fact, the general consensus in today’s Christendom is that “the last 19 chapters of Revelation is not for the Church”!

.

Unbelievable? Yes, very unbelievable!

.

The Book of Revelation says of itself…“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches.” Revelation 22:16

.

This above statement by Jesus has been a well-accepted truth for many centuries by the majority of the Church.

.

It is only in the last century that theologians began to deny this truth.

.

“CHURCH” NOT SPECIFICALLY MENTIONED

.

And one big reason they deny this truth is because they claim that the name, “Church” is not found in chapters 4 through 21. Therefore, they conclude that the Church has to be removed from the earth via the so-called “Pre-Tribulation Rapture”, another unbiblical term.

.

But the fact is, the Church is found a number of times in those chapters. And yet, for God’s own purposes, Revelation’s references to the Church are veiled in types and symbols, in those chapters.

.

REVELATION 12 WOMAN: THE CHURCH

.

For instance, in Revelation 12, a woman is focused upon, who gives birth to Christ. But this woman is actually a symbol of the eternal Church, as is written…“But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” Galatians 4:26

.

Here is the plain declaration which God put in the mouth of the Apostle Paul! And that woman of Revelation 12 is this same woman of which Paul refers to in Galatians 4:26…“But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.”

.

**Notice that Jerusalem above is the “mother of us all”, which includes both Jewish and gentile Believers.**

.

THE 7 STARS = THE 7 ANGELS of THE 7 CHURCHES

.

But the Church is also mentioned elsewhere in Revelation. You see, in various chapters of Revelation, God mentions the seven stars, the seven angels of the seven churches…“The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in My right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.” Revelation 1:20

.

**So here is the revelation that the “seven stars are the angels of the seven churches”.**

.

So here is revealed that the seven stars actually symbolize the seven angels of the seven churches.

.

But this is not the only place in Revelation which speaks of the seven angels.

.

THE 7 ANGELS of THE 7 CHURCHES

.

No, the church is also mentioned elsewhere in Revelation.

.

First, we read in Revelation 8:2…“And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.”

.

Here is yet another veiled reference to the Church. These seven angels who stand before God are the same seven angels of the seven churches, spoken of in Revelation 1:20.

7 ANGELS WITH 7 PLAGUES

.

But this is not the only place which refers to these seven angels.

.

Listen to Revelation 15:1…“And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.”

.

**Here is a reference to a “sign in heaven, great and marvelous”.**

.

And so, this verse brings us back to Revelation 1:20, which reveals…“The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in My right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.” Revelation 1:20

.

Do you see the connection between these two verses? One speaks of the seven angels as a great sign in Heaven. The other verse speaks of the seven angels as the seven stars.

.

And so, the great sign in heaven is most likely speaking of the seven stars.

.

And so, herein is defined just what these seven angels are all about: they are the seven angels of the seven churches. This is the sign in heaven, great and marvelous!

Well, this is how the Book of Revelation refers to the Church: in types and symbols.

GOD CONCEALS TRUTH

.

So why doesn’t God just come right out and say these things in plain and simple language?

.

Well, Proverbs 25:2 tells us…“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.”

.

Yes, as Jesus reveals, the Bible is, to a great degree, written in types and symbols and parables. And the reason for this is so that “seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.” Luke 8:10

.

Yes, those who lock themselves out of the Book of Revelation do so, because they refuse to, or simply cannot discern the parables, types, and symbols.

BIBLE PLAINLY REVEALS SALVATION

Well, the Good News is, that the Bible plainly reveals how a man, woman, or child can begin to discern the parabolic nature of the Bible.

It is by becoming indwelt by the Spirit of Holiness, that the parables of the Bible can be understood…“But the anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.” Revelation 2:27

.

And so, this above verse reveals that God Himself, in the personage of the Holy Spirit is the great Revealer of truth! And with the illumination of the Holy Spirit, the Bible student will discover that the entire Book of Revelation is for the Church.
