Back in the 1970’s, a certain saying was popularized…“The Devil made me do it! The Devil made me do it!”

.

And this was merely mocking Christians, who were seemingly obsessed with pointing the finger at the Devil.

.

Then the world could all joke and mock “the silly and absurd notion” that Satan is a very active and powerful force controlling the peoples of this world, by laughingly saying…“The Devil made me do it! The Devil made me do it!“

SATAN, “THE GOD OF THIS WORLD”

 

2nd Corinthians 4:4

But the horrifying fact is, the Devil does indeed cause the vast percentage of the world’s inhabitants to do a great amount of things!

IMAGINE THERE’S NO HELL BELOW US

.

Arguably, one of the most amazing feats in this world, yea in all the universe, is how Satan and his evil angels have all but erased themselves out of existence in the minds of men!

.

Yes, practically this entire unbelieving world scoffs at the idea that we are ruled over by that rebel angel, Lucifer and his countless minions.

.

Laughable cartoons are often published, with a sinister-looking devil wearing red long-johns, holding a pitchfork. Late-night comedians often make jokes about his existence, such as “The Devil made me do it!”

.

LUCIFER: “THE GOD OF THIS WORLD”

.

And yet, while perhaps as much as 90% of this world’s inhabitants totally disbelieve in a personal and literal devil, the Bible reveals him to be, “the god of this world”. 2nd Corinthians 4:4

.

And the Bible gives account after account of various demon-possessed individuals whom Jesus set free during His earthly ministry.

.

The really puzzling question is, “How can we look around at this sad and hopelessly sin-sick world and NOT believe in the existence of Satan!?”

.

SIN EVERYWHERE!

.

The fact is, that this planet is literally dripping with evil! No matter which direction one turns, sin is to be seen!

.

From the corrupt and bad behavior of each and every human, to the hospitals filled with the sick and suffering, to overflowing graveyards, to the dishonesty discovered in the business world, to the corrupt politicians and government officials, to the wars which have occurred in countless places, to the horrific crimes now occurring everywhere, to the lying and cheating, and hating, and abusing, and heartless mockery of individuals against one-another.

Let’s face it folks! This is a really sin-sick world we live in!

THE NATURE OF EVIL

.

Now, God has chosen this hour to finally reveal the true source of evil in this world. Listen again to our signature Bible verse for today’s devotional…

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!…

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee saying,

Is this the man that made the earth to tremble,

that did shake kingdoms;

That made the world as a wilderness,

Yes, this website has been given the commission to “look narrowly upon thee (Lucifer)”. And even though we certainly don’t want to become too saturated in our minds with this evil angel, neither should we be ignorant of his devices!

7 HEADS, 10 HORNS, & 7 CROWNS OF THE DRAGON

“And there appeared another wonder in heaven;

and behold a great red dragon,

having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.”

Revelation 12:3

In Revelation, the Dragon of Revelation 12 is described as having seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.

However, the Dragon Constellation up in the night sky does not.

.

But God has faithfully created the wave of water, in such a way, as to illustrate this same concept of the seven heads, ten horns, and seven crowns.

Because this wave of water is basically composed of ten stars.

.

The main body of the wave has seven stars (#‘s, 1 thru 7). 

And the tip of the crest of the wave has the other three stars (#’s, 8, 9 & 10).

So we have this 7 and 10 numbering.

And this gives us a great clue, as to where in the Bible we should look, to find out the riddle as to just what or who do these 7 heads, 10 crowns, and 7 horns represent.

Because, the Bible speaks very much about floods and waters as being associated with Satan (the Dragon).

Christian television networks love to evoke the name of Jesus. As a matter of fact, it is not uncommon to hear such phrases as, “We must make Jesus the centerpiece of our life! He needs to be our ‘Everything!'”

And of course, such bold proclamations are easy to make, yet not so easy to fulfill! Even Jesus addressed this common issue…

“This people draweth nigh unto Me with their mouth,

and honoureth Me with their lips;

but their heart is far from Me.”

Matthew 15:8

Here is seen that mere words have no value unless accompanied by sanctified action.

“PHILOSOPHY…AFTER THE RUDIMENTS OF THE WORLD”

And one big problem with these TV ministries is, that while they claim to have made Jesus the centerpiece of their life, they often give strong evidence that this is simply not the case.

For example, one of these shows has a host that addresses some emotional problem and need of the weekly guest. But instead of trying to solve that “psychological” issue according to the ways of Heaven, they instead attempt to solve it by human effort and man’s strength. In other words, they attempt to imitate how the world tries to solve such matters.

So, what’s the problem with this?

How does this go against the ways of Heaven?

“NOT THE HEARERS…BUT THE DOERS OF THE LAW SHALL BE JUSTIFIED”

Romans 2:13

Well, even though many faithful churchgoers may do hours of Bible reading, they never seem to truly hear what the Jesus is telling them…

“Why do ye not understand My speech?

.

even because ye cannot hear My Mord.”

John 8:43 

.

And so, instead of walking by the Word, far too many of these TV shows merely teach their audience to correct or eliminate some aspect of their life which they think will solve a particular problem.

.

Perhaps they suggest, “You need to have much more dialogue with your spouse!” 

.

Or they recommend, “You must get much more therapy with professionals!”

.

Or, “You must take more time for recreation!”

.

Or, “More dinner dates!”

.

“More exercise!”

.

“More clubs to join!”

.

And so, the problem is that while churchgoers may be daily reading their Bibles, they are not truly hearing what the Bible is actually saying…“Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?” Galatians 4:21

“WHICH HAVE EARS, AND HEAR NOT”

Listen to Paul…“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2nd Timothy 3:7

Here is revealed that many cannot truly hear God’s counsels even though they are constantly studying their Bible.

.

Listen to Jesus as He reprimands His own professed people…“Why do ye not understand My speech? even because ye cannot hear My word.” John 8:43

.

Here is revealed that something prevents many Bible readers from truly hearing the words of Jesus.

“THE SAME ANOINTING TEACHETH YOU OF ALL THINGS”

Now listen to what is required to actually hear, truly hear the words of life…

“But the Anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you,

and ye need not that any man teach you:

but as the same Anointing teacheth you of all things,

.

and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you,

ye shall abide in Him.”

Here is the crux of the problem which many faithful churchgoers face. They do not have the “Anointing” which would teach them “of all things”.

“EVER LEARNING…NEVER ABLE TO COME…TO TRUTH”

.

Thus, void of the Spirit (because of our love of this present, selfish world), we read and read. We endlessly attend Bible studies. We listen to a myriad of audio sermons!

.

But in spite of this, we fulfill Paul’s prophetic scenario…“Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 2nd Timothy 3:7

.

And so, instead of living through our day via the admonitions and promises of the Bible, we merely go through our day void of the Spirit, living in presumptuous self-will. And of course, we have no clue that we are walking in spiritual darkness. Rather, we listen to our sermons, sing our praise songs, and even say little prayers.

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY!”

Proverbs 25:25

Nevertheless, there is Good News, believe it or not! Yes, God is revealing to us our undone condition (and this includes this “undone editor”) in a time when He may be found .

.

And so, let us each cast away our earthly idols, and flee to the spiritual mountains of refuge, pleading for God to mercifully and graciously open our ears and eyes that we truly hear the words of life, and truly see the upward, heavenward pathway.

.

And then (by grace alone) throughout our day, the very Bible verses and promises needed, will miraculously appear in our mind’s eye, to direct us as to which way to turn, when each questionable situation arises which requires Bible wisdom.

So, in this little series, the subject of those noble Bereans has been introduced. And today, it is still worthy of a little more exploration into another area of concern.

Let’s review the key Bible passage…

“And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea:

who coming there, went into the synagogue of the Jews.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,

in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,

and searched the scriptures daily,

whether those things were so.”

AN OPEN-MINDED SPIRIT IN BEREA

.

Okay, so those in Berea were more noble, because they:

.

1. “Received the Word with all readiness of mind.”

.

2. “And searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

.

And so, the Bereans were ready to receive new teachings, which no doubt, conflicted with the supposed, “orthodox” teachings of that day.

.

Thus there was an open-mindedness which permeated their hearts, and a willingness to search the Scriptures daily, in hopes that these seemingly new teachings were indeed true!

.

A PLEASANT GOSPEL NOW PREACHED

.

Through the decades, the Adventist denomination has gradually moved away from making the writings of Ellen White the chief reference of their doctrinal understanding.

.

Oh yes, they still acknowledge her as being a messenger of the three angel’s messages. But they have pretty much transformed themselves into the same type of Gospel as most other evangelical churches and denominations.

.

And one may hear an occasional quote from her writings: usually a rather nice, innocuous statement about some particular aspect of everyday Christian life.

.

SUNDAY WORSHIP: TO BECOME THE MARK

.

Nevertheless, that particular denomination still clings to the idea that Sunday worship will soon become the Mark of the Beast, and that Saturday worship is the true seal of God.

And after all, this is what Ellen White taught, didn’t she?

.

“MANY LESSONS TO LEARN…AND…TO UNLEARN”

.

But while teaching various Bible doctrines, Ellen White also made the following statement…

.

Listen…“We have many lessons to learn,

and many, many to unlearn.

God and Heaven alone are infallible.

Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view,

never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed.

As long as we hold to our own ideas and opinions with determined persistency,

we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed.”

{Christian Experience and Teaching p. 203}

.

Here is a very dramatic statement regarding her teachings, and regarding the stance which any church or denomination should have taken. In other words, those who refuse to move away from some cherished doctrinal understanding in the light of new biblical information, will ultimately be swept away into the Stygian darkness which enshrouds all stubbornness and defiance within Christendom.

“THERE REMAINETH A REST TO THE PEOPLE OF GOD”

.

For our primary example of how God often works, Ellen White spoke of the Sabbath in terms of the letter of the law, as does the Old Testament. And to this very day, most of her adherents cling to this teaching.

.

But as the January 27 devotional (click here) attempted to teach, the Sabbath Rest which remains to the people of God is not merely a one-day-per-week, 24-hour long rest from physical labor, but rather is a spiritual rest which we receive in Jesus.

.

And this 24/7/365 spiritual rest is the true seal of God!

.

UNBELIEVERS HAVE NO REST

.

But as Revelation, Chapter 14 prophesies concerning the Mark of the Beast…

“And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:

and they have no rest day nor night,

who worship the beast and his image,

and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”

Revelation 14:11

.

Here is revealed that those who worship the Beast and his image have no rest day nor night. And this rest is the same Greek word found in Matthew 11:28-30…

“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden,

and I will give you REST.

Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart:

and ye shall find REST unto your souls.

For My yoke is easy,

and My burden is light.”

This is the same rest which is spoken of in Revelation 14:11. It is a spiritual rest which the world cannot and will not receive, until they begin to wholly trust in Christ as their Savior.

SUNDAY: A WORK-DAY

.

Conversely, when E.G. White spoke of Sunday, she was literally speaking of that one-day-per-week, 24-hour period which almost the entire Christian world regards as “The Lord’s Day”.

.

And yet, by reading her writings, she almost always spoke of the apostate church-world as loving this present world, being mere professors of serving Christ. This was the constant theme found throughout her writings, whenever she spoke of the church’s apostasy.

.

And so, it was not merely the attendance of church on the “wrong” day of the week which condemned any particular churchgoer. But instead, it is loving this present selfish world which is the actual root of bitterness within the heart of any and every apostate professor of Christ.

SUNDAY: AN ACT OF DEFIANCE

And Sunday worship? Well, one can probably conclude that when she spoke of Sunday, it is actually just symbolic of anyone who loves this present, Babylonian, sun-worshiping world, and yet attempts to serve Christ at the same time.

.

It is merely symbolic of any act of rebellion against and rejection of the commandments of God, for the “commandments of men” (“But in vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:9) .

.

And let’s face it, living for and loving this present selfish world is the greatest of all acts of rebellion by Mankind against the commandments of God!

.

WHOSE CHARACTER IS WRITTEN ON MY HEART?

Therefore, we must not get the idea that merely attending church on either Saturday or Sunday will determine which camp we are in: the Saved or the Lost.

But rather, it is just whose name is written in our forehead (our heart): either the character of Christ or the character of Satan; this is what truly determines just who has the true seal of God or who has the true Mark of the Beast!

It’s truly amazing how much evil is occurring in today’s most advanced societies.

But it is equally amazing how an intelligent society hasn’t yet figured it out, that by allowing morals to decline, crime and other evils rise at about the same rate.

Just look at television for instance. From 1950 to present day, the morals have declined tremendously (not that the morals of the past were so wonderful.)

And yet, knowing how societal standards have so greatly devolved over such a relatively short time, society just seems oblivious to the fact that its moral standards on television, Internet, and radio greatly determine the moral (or rather, immoral) behavior of that society.

Still, society simply allows more and more evil to be viewed and listened to on a daily basis, via the high-tech media.

.

And instead of maintaining the highest standards for what these various media are allowed to broadcast, society is permitting more and more evil to be pumped into the hearts and minds of its citizenry.

.

And then when these horrific evils are reenacted in real-life situations, society seems puzzled as to why all this wickedness is occurring!

.

But Scripture plainly declares…“Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not;” 1st Corinthians 15:33, 34

It is very troubling that school shootings have an eerie resemblance to today’s video games. In other words, many video games are based on killing as many imaginary people as possible! And millions of young people are daily devoted to operating a hand-controlled device that simulates the slaughter of humans.

Of course, this only confirms the Bible passage…“Be not deceived. Evil communications corrupt good manners (good behavior)” 1st Corinthians 15:33.

What’s amazing is that so many are completely missing this connection altogether!

.

But why should it surprise us when a young person acts out these video games in real-life atrocities?

.

“FOR WE WRESTLE NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD”

Well, perhaps this is an oversimplification of the problem.

So then, just what is the deep root cause for our moral decline?

Simple! Satan is the ruler of this world of sin and selfishness.

.

And until Mankind fully realizes this and turns away from this sin, things are going to continue to grow worse.

“IN THAT DAY THE LORD…SHALL PUNISH…THAT CROOKED SERPENT”

Isaiah 27:1

Oh yes, Satan may change his modus-operandi for a little while, when it suits his deceptive purpose.

In other words, “the god of this world” can cause society to seemingly transform into a higher degree of morality all of a sudden. But should he do so, we can be confident that things will continue to grow worse and worse, in one way or another!

.

Licentious images on the media will be replaced with just a more insidious and totalitarian form of evil! And Christians will be targeted.

.

Satan is much smarter than all of us collectively! And he sometimes works very cleverly within the framework of the law to oppress God’s people…“Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.” Psalm 94:20, 21

.

And he’s like a crooked serpent! He never travels in a straight path! He can change directions at any time! And as this above passage reveals, Satan often works within the laws of the land to oppress people.

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY”

Proverbs 25:25

But the very Good News is, that God is now calling for anyone who is fed up with this evil world, to turn back to Him with all their heart.

Don’t wait for some mass societal collective repentance.

.

But when that individual Believer continues to climb that ever-ascending pathway out of this “City-of-Destruction” world, that faithful follower of Jesus can escape the tsunami of evil that is now sweeping through the land.

Look eastward in the early summer through fall. Find the Cassiopeia Constellation. Cassiopeia is the Mount of Blessing. In the sketch, it is the farthest mountain to the left. In the sky, it is the northern-most of these three mountains when facing eastward. It resembles a pyramid.

Then find the second pyramid to its right (south).

Then go a little further south to the next third pyramid. The third snow-cap is the Destroying Mountain Constellation.

THE VALLEY OF DECISION CONSTELLATION GROUP.

These are made of Cassiopeia (mount on left), and various stars from the Andromeda Constellation (valley) Pegasus (Mount of Cursing (middle mount) & Destroying Mount (right)), and Pisces (Broad Way to Hell). The galaxy which appears to be climbing the Mountain of Blessing is the Andromeda Galaxy.

And today, the national media is greatly concerned about how similar tragedies might be prevented in the future.

But sadly, the focus was on the ways that humans can solve our own problems, by our own strength, and with our own intellect: more security, more laws, more restrictions, more money, etc…

EVIL SPIRITS THE TRUE PROBLEM

But if only we would stop and listen to the Voice which rules over the whole universe, we might discover the only true Way of forever solving our increasing lawlessness in the land, and around the world!

The Bible reveals that Mankind’s problems are not due to humans.

No, instead the Bible reveals the following…

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood,

but against principalities, against powers,

against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Ephesians 6:12

.

Here is revealed the true source of the problems which are currently plaguing Mankind: the “rulers of the darkness of this world…spiritual wickedness in high places”.

The Bible is replete with true historical accounts regarding God’s protection of those societies which obeyed Him, and His lack of protection for the societies which went headlong after wickedness.

And let’s face it! The western societies, which once enthusiastically embraced the Christian Reformation, have long ago distanced themselves from the Gospel.

And these societies are now suffering the recompense from their turning away from God. God is allowing these nations to fight their own battles, because they refuse to call on Him for help.

It’s not more guns, or less guns, or more police, or more soldiers, or more money, or more locks, or more walls, or more laws, or less laws, or more education, or whatever else we think we need to protect ourselves from our enemies.

And as such, his spirit resides in the lives of the children of men, causing them to do his bidding.

NINEVEH TURNED TO GOD

But in spite of this, we often read in Scripture of how God came to the rescue of any society, when that society truly turned back in genuine sorrow for sin.

The tiny Book of Jonah is just one example of the Lord’s mercy on a heathen nation which truly repented and sought the Lord’s mercy.

Well, the Good News is, that God will protect any individual who truly becomes a follower of Jesus.

Oh yes, many true Christians became martyrs, in centuries past, and even today in other nations which are hostile to the Bible.

But God’s protection and His blessings are poured out on each one of His genuine followers with every new day, until the day arrives in which God removes them into His everlasting Promised Land, the Paradise to come!

So, in this little series, the subject of those noble Bereans has been introduced. And today, it is still worthy of a little more exploration into another area of concern.

.

Let’s review the key Bible passage… “And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming there, went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” Acts 17:10, 11

AN OPEN-MINDED SPIRIT IN BEREA

.

Okay, so those in Berea were more noble, because they:

.

1. “Received the Word with all readiness of mind.”

.

2. “And searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

.

And so, the Bereans were ready to receive new teachings, which no doubt, conflicted with the supposed, “orthodox” teachings of that day.

.

Thus there was an open-mindedness which permeated their hearts, and a willingness to search the Scriptures daily, in hopes that these seemingly new teachings were indeed true!

.

WHITE AND CAMPING DISAGREE

.

Those who follow the writings of Ellen G. White, for the most part, cannot respect the ministry of Harold Camping, and visa-versa. There are just too many seemingly contradictory teachings.

.

First and foremost is that Ellen White held to the Saturday Sabbath, while Camping believed in the Sunday Sabbath.

.

WHITE AND CAMPING AGREE

.

But there are many doctrines which both Camping and White taught, and agreed upon.

.

First, they both believed that the Bible was the Word of God and must be followed and lived by.

.

Secondly, they both taught that God would call His people to make an end-time exodus out of the apostate church-world, to take their stand in the last moments of time, against the apostasy which pervaded and made ruin of the entire church-world.

.

Third, they both believed that Christians must strive to live holy, blameless lives.

SABBATH: “REST UNTO YOUR SOULS”

see Matthew 11:28-30

.

But even though Camping erroneously taught that Sunday was the New Testament Sabbath, he also firmly believed that the 7th Day Sabbath was still to be observed in a spiritual sense.

.

In other words, Camping believed that Believers must cease from thinking that any work they might perform could ever secure their Salvation.

.

That is, Camping taught that there must be a Sabbath Rest from any sort of “Do-it-yourself” type of Salvation in which a Christian must perform some little deed to secure his or her Salvation: baptism, saying the Sinner’s Prayer, church-going, or any other “good work”.

OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS

And also, it must be remembered that Ellen White’s ministry preached “the everlasting Gospel” which included the Old Covenant. And so, many of her teachings were based on Old Testament concepts.

Thus, God raised up Harold Camping’s ministry to direct New Testament Believers away from attempting to literally keep the Old Testament holy days, but that they must be kept in the spiritual sense.

THE LETTER OF THE LAW

Now of course, these truths are very difficult for most Adventists who have been thoroughly groomed to keep the Sabbath by the letter of the law, and not in the spiritual sense.

And combined with Camping’s erroneous teaching concerning the so-called “Sunday Sabbath”, this presents an insurmountable stumbling block for most Adventists!

STUDY, BEREAN, STUDY!

Now, one thing has to be remembered.

.

The proper way to test the authenticity of Ellen White’s Message and Harold Camping’s message is to study each message separately, that the truth-seeking Berean might prove to his or her own self, the veracity of each message. And this website is confident that any and every true worshiper of God will become satisfied that these two messengers were faithful servants of Christ.

.

This same method of testing applies to the message of the 3rd angel. Spend copious amounts of time studying this message on its own merits, apart from the other two messages, remembering that God sends “strong delusion” to all those who have not received the love for the truth. (see 2nd Thessalonians Chapter 2)

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY”

Proverbs 25:25

But the Good News is, that God is now opening our eyes to see this new message, written in the Sun, Moon, and starry heavens. And those Adventists who have truly received the love of the truth, will be like the Noble Bereans of Acts 17, who study with an open-minded passion to find truth concerning these perplexing issues, no matter where that truth leads!

.

These Noble Bereans will not be afraid to follow Ellen White’s admonition, “We have many lessons to learn, and many, many to unlearn. God and heaven alone are infallible. Those who think that they will never have to give up a cherished view, never have occasion to change an opinion, will be disappointed. As long as we hold to our own ideas and opinions with determined persistency, we cannot have the unity for which Christ prayed.”—The Review and Herald, July 26, 1892. {1SM 37.3}
“In regard to infallibility, I never claimed it; God alone is infallible. His word is true, and in Him is no variableness, or shadow of turning.”—Letter 10, 1895. {1SM 37.4}

So you see, Ellen White did not believe her writings to be infallible, but rather subject to correction, if need be. Praise the Lord, that God raised up such a humble instrument such as Ellen White, who was not at all averse to correction! Therefore, let’s make sure we have this same humility and meekness in our own lives!

A NOTE OF INTEREST TO ADVENTISTS

.

By the way, if the Reader would search Ellen White’s “morning message” on the morning after Jones and Waggoner stunned the brethren and church leaders at the 1888 conference, they would find an even more pointed statement in regard to her writings. Unfortunately, somebody has deleted that statement from the Ellen White Writings CD’s (why they did this is not known), which will require one to get the Book on her sermons from that 1888 Conference.

However, the statement goes something like this: She began by saying…“Gentlemen, you look very tired and discouraged this morning (The message of Jones and Waggoner was a discouraging one for most of the audience, that previous night – Ed.) … “The law, the law, the law!”, She went on to say, “I’m so tired of hearing, ‘The Law, the law, the law! I rejoice in the message that these two men have brought to us! I have never said that my writings are infallible. If upon a careful and prayerful study, there needs to be a change made in my writings, it should be done after much prayerful consideration.”

This statement by Ellen White reveals so much about what Jones and Waggoner said the previous night.

The Revelation 12 Dragon Constellation can be located by finding Orion in winter months. The Dragon is to Orion’s left, and the Dragon’s mouth is right next to Orion’s shield. This Dragon’s mouth is the V-like constellation The Hyades Cluster, which is also known as the head of Taurus the Bull. The Dragon’s tail-tip is Pleiades and the lower shaft of his tail is partly of Aries and Pisces. Then with aid of a dark and starry night, you may begin to connect the mouth and the tail with a very long body in an oval shape. The front and back legs are made of a few stars: the front legs partially of stars from Taurus . The back legs and rear fin are made of 6 stars from the Cetus Constellation.

BODY HARD TO SEE

The long oval-shaped body has relatively few stars, but can been seen, howbeit with a dark, starry night. The four stars of the front fins are made partially of Taurus .

FIRST APPEARS IN MID-SUMMER

This Dragon constellation appears in the eastern horizon about mid-summer in the pre-dawn hours, spewing his flood-waters northward toward the Revelation 12 Woman in Travail (not pictured in this chart).

The Wave of Water is primarily composed of the Constellation Auriga. There are two dimmer stars (#’s 1 & 2) which are closest to the Dragon’s mouth. These two dimmer stars are also part of this Wave of Water, but are not part of the Auriga Constellation.

THE FALSE PROPHET GIVING SOCIETY A MAKE-OVER

We turn on the morning TV talk shows and see handsome and well-dressed personalities making jokes and engaging us in light and upbeat conversation.

And we drive down our nice streets and through our neighborhoods, oblivious to so much of the filth and decrepit conditions in other places.

Our garbage is neatly removed each week.

.

And our kids attend their nice schools. We have beautiful hospitals for the sick, and ivy-covered campuses for the young.

Oh yes, we may hear an occasional siren outside, racing down the street, but that’s all we usually know about some neighborhood crisis.

And we go to our church each week, filled with nicely dressed and well-behaved people sitting there, all to hear an entertaining prosperity-driven sermon salted with well-timed little quips and jests.

And we wash and vacuum our shiny cars, boats, and sometimes even their planes.

.

And we love all the beautifully lighted cities with their tall, grand buildings!

.

We look great in our recently purchased pre-made clothes!

Yes, to a great degree, this world has been given a glossy veneered exterior in these last days!

Yes, in these last moments of history, the Lord will allow (or cause) all the blood which has been shed upon this sin-cursed earth to cry out, even as the blood of Abel cried out! And we’ll all hear it!

So, in this little series, the subject of those noble Bereans has been introduced. And today, it is still worthy of a little more exploration into another area of concern.

Let’s review the key Bible passage…

“And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea:

who coming there, went into the synagogue of the Jews.

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,

in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,

and searched the scriptures daily,

whether those things were so.”

AN OPEN-MINDED SPIRIT IN BEREA

.

Okay, so those in Berea were more noble, because they:

.

1. “Received the Word with all readiness of mind.”

.

2. “And searched the Scriptures daily, whether those things were so.”

.

And so, the Bereans were ready to receive new teachings, which no doubt, conflicted with the supposed, “orthodox” teachings of that day.

.

Thus, there was an open-mindedness which permeated their hearts, and a willingness to search the Scriptures daily, in hopes that these seemingly new teachings were indeed true!

THE GREAT CONTROVERSY

.

Yesterday’s devotional (click here) focused on the 25th chapter of Ellen White’s book, “The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan”, which deals with the changing of the 7th-Day Sabbath to the 1st-Day Lord’s Day.

.

And this chapter lays out a concise history of how Satan worked through humans to affect this totally unbiblical change.

.

And this same chapter 25, made the prediction that the United States of America would eventually be transformed from a Christian-oriented society into the 2nd beast, the “False Prophet” of Revelation 13, forcing the entire world to bow down to and worship the 1st Beast, the Church of Rome (actually, the Church of Rome being the 5th head of the 1st beast).

PROPHECIES NOW FULFILLED

.

And while yesterday’s devotional (click here) focused more on the 7th-Day Sabbath, today’s devotional will briefly explore into the true fulfillment of the 1st and 2nd beasts of Revelation 13.

.

As already stated in yesterday’s devotional (click here), we have a great advantage of viewing the fulfillment of Bible prophecy as it is now occurring.

.

And while Ellen White did an amazing job of looking forward in time from her vantage point in the 1880’s, we now have a much broader perspective, as we see exactly how things have unfolded in these last days.

.

SATAN’S ANTICHRIST WORLD-SYSTEM

.

And while Ellen White referred to the Church of Rome as the antichrist beast, it must be remembered that the antichrist beast described in chapters 13 & 17 of Revelation is actually symbolic of the kingdom of Satan, this entire antichrist world-system.

.

Yes, the antichrist beast is comprised of kings and kingdoms (including the apostate portion of Christianity).

.

The Church of Rome was merely the 5th head of the 7-headed beast, even though that “Great Harlot” church played the primary role as persecutor of God’s people throughout most of the New Testament history. (See Revelation 17:1 & 19:2 for “Great Harlot” reference)

.

“…THAT SPIRIT WHICH NOW WORKETH…”

Likewise, the 2nd beast of Revelation 13, the False Prophet, while originating in the United States, is actually the spirit of the “Prince of the Power of the Air, that spirit which now works in the children of disobedience” Ephesians 2:2

.

In other words, rather than being merely a single nation, this 2nd Beast, the False Prophet, is none other than the diabolical spirit-being, Satan, as he works invisibly through the hearts of men who are actuated by his antichrist spirit. And this two-horned spirit agency of evil, is working around the clock and around the world to compel the human race to bow down and worship his antichrist world-system, thus giving him homage he so greatly desires.

Therefore, the 2nd Beast is working on many fronts to cause the world’s citizenry to bow down to the character of Satan: his character being manifested throughout this evil world-system in various ways.

SATAN’S CHARACTER MANIFESTED THROUGH VARIOUS MEANS

.

For an example of how Satan compels humans to worship him, the television broadcasts the various qualities of his character on a 24/7/365 basis: anger, lust, unbelief, pride, violence, revenge, greed, selfishness, and a form of counterfeit goodness, etc….

.

These qualities are seen in the various daily TV shows and advertisements, howbeit are greatly disguised by a shroud of counterfeit goodness, humanitarianism, friendliness, and morality.

FINALLY WALKING UPWARD INTO THE HIGHWAYS OF ETERNITY

Walking through this sin-darkened world, witnessing to those who take notice that of a truth, Jesus is present within you.

Even like faithful Enoch, walking through the highways and byways of life in this world, spreading the Gospel-seed of unpretentious love.

Day by day, you will become more and more closed in with God.

Moment by moment, your heart will become intertwined with God’s heart, eventually two hearts beating as one heart.

And just like Enoch, when the appointed time of sojourning on earth is finally done…you will walk onward…and upward…and into the highways and byways of eternity. (“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” Genesis 5:24).
