Jeremiah & The Two Jerusalems, Part 2: “Various Hints of Jeremiah’s Spiritual Meaning”

.

.

.

It is a true tragedy that Satan has successfully locked so many professed Christians out of so much of the Bible. But he has!

.

The fact is, God has promised to give “the hidden manna” to those who forsake the pleasures and treasures of this selfish world, and unreservedly follow Jesus.

.

And yet, Satan has brought in a false hermeneutic which has no biblical validity, causing so many to stumble at the Word. Yes, this notion that the Bible must only be literally interpreted as far as possible, has all but locked out the vast majority of church-goers from discovering that hidden manna found in such books as Jeremiah.

.

But the fact is, that God has written Jeremiah to be understood spiritually, as a prophecy concerning the New Testament Church.

.

But the vast majority of the church-world only sees Jeremiah as concerning the literal nation of Israel.

.

But God has given various hints that Jeremiah is a prophetic book written for the Church.

.

For instance, when God describes the mystery harlot in Revelation 18, He uses language found in Jeremiah concerning Israel.

.

Listen to Revelation 18:22, 23…”And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee; And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.”

.

Now listen to Jeremiah 25:10, 11… “Moreover I will take from them (Jerusalem) the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle. And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.”

.

So, in the last days, this harlot city, Babylon will suffer the very judgment spoken of in Jeremiah, concerning Jerusalem!

.

Now, just how are we to understand what is being said here? After all, Israel was left desolate of God’s presence back in the days after Christ’s crucifixion! And their Babylonian captivity was already accomplished long ago.

.

The fact is, this passage from Revelation concerning the judgment of the great whore is concerning the church-world, and not literal Jerusalem.

.

So how can we make such a leap? How can we biblically make this transference of terms?

.

Well, the Bible already establishes Jerusalem as concerning the Church.

THE TWO JERUSALEMS

.

Here, Paul defines the two portions of Jeresalem: the apostate portion and the faithful portion… “For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who waSarah & Hagar - Foster Bible Pictures - wikipedia - US public domains of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which genders to bondage, which is Agar (Hagar). For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answers to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.” Galatians 4:22-26.

.

So right here, the Lord, through Paul, is revealing a great concept! Yes, Paul revealed that there are two Jerusalems, spiritually speaking: the apostate Jerusalem, and the faithful Jerusalem.

.

Or perhaps you could say that there is but one Jerusalem, which has two divisions: the apostate and the faithful. Either way, this revelation is a very important concept!

.

“Jerusalem above is free, and is the mother of us all” is concerning the Church, consisting of both Old and New Testament Believers, both Jew and Gentile!

And so, this little exercise reveals how the Bible is to be properly studied, ‘comparing spiritual things with spiritual’, adding ‘line upon line and precept upon precept.'” (see 1st Corinthians 2:12-14 & Isaiah 28:9-12)

THE HOLY-GHOST-RIDER CONSTELLATION

.

“Gavest thou…wings and feathers unto the ostrich?….What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.” Job 39:17, 18

.

Here in the above condensed passage is revealed a tremendous Bible prophecy! Here the ostrich (being a symbol of the Church-Apostate) is going to lift up herself and scorn the horse and his rider.

.

Well, if we look in the winter-night skies, we might possibly have our eyes opened to see a most incredible constellation group, known as the “Horse and His Rider” Constellation Group.

Holy-Ghost-Rider on Goodly Horse (above western horizon)

And so, this above passage speaks of the time of the end (which we are just now in). And sadly to say, there will be many in the Church who will scorn this last message, just as the wisdom-deprived ostrich scorns the Horse and His Rider, who symbolize God’s Church in battle, being ridden by the Spirit of Christ! Such a sad ending for the Church-Apostate, to scorn the Holy Spirit: the same Spirit that they so often exulted in praise, with their lips!

.

This constellation group is made up of a number of smaller constellations: the horse’s head, made from the Perseus Constellation. The tail and rear end is partly of the Cassiopeia Constellation. The hind-leg is made partly of stars from the Andromeda Constellation. The Rider is made primarily from the Camelopardalis Constellation.
