“A Kingdom Divided Cannot Stand!”

.

.

In that incredible little book of Daniel is the true account of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of that great image whose head was made of gold, and chest and arms of silver, and loins of brass, legs of iron, and feet and toes of iron mixed with clay.

.

And at the last of that dream, a rock, not cut with hands smote the feet of that image, and caused the entire image to blow away as if made of chaff.

A SEEMINGLY DOUBLE-ENTENDRE

.

Now, without getting too technical, this dream was a prophecy concerning the future history of the Church, right down to the very end of time.

.

But, as with many Bible prophecies, the world seems to bleed through this prophecy.

.

MANKIND DEVOLVES, NOT EVOLVES

.

Now, one aspect of this prophecy is that the condition of Mankind seems to devolve, symbolized by the head being of gold, then turns to silver, then to brass, then to iron, and finally to the feet of iron mingled with potter’s clay. In other words, what began as the most precious of all metals, gold, ended with nothing more than iron mingled with miry clay.

But in the days of the feet of this great image, a rock smote those feet, breaking the entire image into pieces, and that rock became a great mountain which filled the entire earth.

.

Of course this dream of Nebuchadnezzar’s was all symbolic. And it is not difficult to discern that it represents God’s kingdom finally destroying Satan’s kingdom of men.

LOVE FINALLY TRIUMPHS OVER SELFISHNESS!

.

Now the point of this devotional is to focus on the feet and toes of this image, and the rock that smote them, causing the entire image to break into pieces which became as chaff in the wind.

.

But in attempt to keep this all simple, let it be said that this seems to be speaking of how God’s kingdom will finally annihilate Satan’s kingdom.

.

MANKIND PULLING APART

.

But these two feet with their ten toes seem to allude to the present condition of Mankind. Oh yes, the Church is in view here. But as already said, the world seems to bleed through this prophecy.

.

The reason why this seems so relevant today, is that we are now seeing the world being divided into two major camps. Yes, just as this image had a left foot and a right foot, so also we see two great divisions in the world, the so-called “conservatives/capitalists” and the “progressives/socialists”. They even refer to themselves as “The Left” and “The Right”.

.

And even further, just as these two power groups in the world are always at odds, one with another, so also, these two feet made of iron and clay…“shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.” Daniel 2:43

.

FEET & TOES APPARENTLY THE WORLD & CHURCH

.

Okay, so as already stated, this really seems to be speaking of the Church in the last days, and how it has mingled itself with the world. And the ten toes of this image appear to symbolize both the apostate portion of the Church, as well as The Ten Commandments. In other words, in Scripture, the number “10” has a symbolic significance, not only representing the Ten Commandments, but also The Ten Virgins, of Matthew 25, symbolizing the Church.

.

But this also seems to allude to today’s world in which we now are witnessing a pulling apart of various factions in the world. Yes, there appears to be a widening gap between the various social, political, as well as religious groups, sometimes even becoming hostile one against another.

.

And today, via the mass media, anyone can view all the bickering and battling going on between these various groups on a daily basis. Yes, the escalating war between Leftists and the Rightists is especially visible these days.

.

A KINGDOM DIVIDED

.

Thus, this entire world is becoming more divided on a daily basis: social groups, gender groups, ethnic groups, political groups, religious groups, and many other groups! It’s truly a divided world today!

.

And as Mark 3:24 says…“And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.” 

.

Here in this above passage, Jesus is revealing the grim truth, that this world is ripe for judgment! A divided world cannot stand!

.

A WORLD RIPE FOR JUDGMENT!

.

And so, it is no coincidence that this rock comes crashing down on the world and breaks this world into pieces right at the time when the people of the world are divided in so many ways.

.

And as one group rails against, opposes, and debates against the policies of the other group, a rock comes crashing down to smash into pieces this entire kingdom of selfishness, i.e., the World!

.

And while each group busily attempts to convert the rest of the world into their own particular camp, this rock seemingly comes out of nowhere and demolishes all the philosophies, all the maxims, and all the various ideologies that this rebellious world has been propagating through the years and even through the long centuries! 

.

“GOOD NEWS FROM A FAR COUNTRY!”

Proverbs 25:25

And of course, the Good News about all this is that God’s kingdom of unselfish love finally wins in the end!

.

And all those who desire to be on the winning team are invited to join up with this ever-growing Heavenward throng who are now renouncing this hopeless world!

.

And all those who are discouraged with this ugly and hopeless world, are encouraged to begin the Heaven-ward sojourn out of this mess, onward and upward into the glorious Promised Land, in which we will be forever happy! Forever young!

LOCATING THIS CONSTELLATION…

.

This “Golden Altar” Constellation is only seen in winter through spring, in mid-sky.  It is to the south of the “Fleeing Woman Constellation” (AKA Ursa Major  or The Big Dipper).

.

The “Fleeing Woman of Revelation 12” Constellation is in the northeastern sky in this sketch. You would be facing east and looking very high up almost to mid-sky to see this constellation group this way. The altar is farther south but still in the eastern sky. This altar itself is commonly known as “Leo Major“, with the smoke rising being “Leo Minor“.

 

.

A little farther down this page is the sketch of this same constellation in the latter part of winter, when you look at them facing westward. You will notice that what looked like Gospel seed being cast from her left hand and left foot (see “Woman of Revelation 12-The Fleeing Woman” article for explanation of casting “Gospel Seed”) now appears like smoke or incense rising from the altar. It is not clear why the altar is sideways in back of the Woman. It would make more sense if it were directly under the Woman. However, the Lord must have some spiritual truth to convey concerning this odd positioning of the Altar. The 7 Stars (Big Dipper) is easy to see with its very bright 7 stars. But the Revelation 12 Woman (Ursa Major) must be seen on a dark starry night, away from city lights.
