What we must understand is that the entire bible is about the Gospel of Jesus, even as it is written…Luk 24:27Â And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, He (Jesus) expounded unto them (His disciples) in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
.
And so, this verse and other similar verse reveal to us that the Bible concerns some aspect of the Gospel of Jesus.
.
There are many who “stumble at the Word”, not perceiving that all those strange Old Testament stories were allegories concerning Christ, and His Gospel.
.
And so, when we encounter some strange account, such as the true historical account of the last night of Sodom, in which Lot offered his daughters to the Sodomites, who wanted to abuse the two heaven-sent visitors, Lot’s divine guests, we must attempt to find the underlying meaning of that story. In other words, the story of Lot and his exodus from that wicked city just prior to its destruction is a picture of some aspect of the Gospel.
.
But there are those who stumble at the word, who become offended, saying, “How could this supposed man of God throw his daughters to those horrible Sodomites!?”
.
But the fact is, the Bible is a double-edged sword! And God has purposely written His Word to save or to destroy…Heb_4:12Â For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
